Erin Medeiros (Perspectives Therapy Services)
I believe counseling is a process of fostering and encouraging hope: hope for support, hope for change, and hope for new possibilities. We will work together to create a space that is safe and comfortable for you, where change is possible. I believe that, as the client, you are the expert on your own life and have the power to find the solutions that will work best for you. I simply help facilitate this process and support you along the way. There is always hope, and with some time and attention given, we will forge the path toward a fulfilling life for you.
We’ve all experienced times when we could benefit from support. Counseling is a space in which you can be your authentic self and gain the help you desire. I will work to understand where you are coming from and where you want to be. This might include clarifying your present concerns, challenging current beliefs or thought patterns, and deepening personal insight. I am conscious of the unique strengths and resiliency of each individual and try to enhance and incorporate these aspects into therapy. As a counselor, it is my role to lend a listening ear, provide the tools you need, and walk alongside you throughout this process of growth, self-discovery, and reestablishment of hope.
Addressing underlying concerns and applying necessary changes can be a difficult process to begin. However, with a supportive environment and strong therapeutic relationship, change is not only possible, but likely. The process will be individualized to you, as your unique perspectives and experiences guide the therapeutic process.
I aim to build a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathic relationship, where we will collaborate to determine how best to address your concerns. Using a person-centered approach, we will explore areas that are meaningful to you, such as your beliefs, experiences, thoughts, and concerns. I will help you by providing opportunities to learn new skills, increase awareness, and understand a way forward, toward hope and change.
