Jeffrey Kuhn
If you are looking for help for yourself or your child, teen, or college age son or daughter you have come to the right place.
My name is Jeff Kuhn and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I provide individual therapy to children, teens, college students, young adults, men, and parents in the Boulder and Denver Metro area's. My counseling style and therapeutic approach are unique and innovative. I specialize in treating all forms of anxiety, depression, ADHD and grief. I meet in person or virtually.
By using a less traditional approach, which utilizes best practices and the most up to date research, I have been able to reach people that have not found conventional therapy productive or just not the right fit for their personalities and individual needs. I use a client centered, solution focused, mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral therapy approach which is designed to treat the issues that arise in our individual lives, personal relationships, and families.
Some goals of therapy could include teaching new skills to lift and regulate mood, manage anxiety, fear and stress, enhance self-esteem and improve performance. Other goals could include learning new skills to improve communication, increase problem-solving behavior, challenge the thought process and improve insight into our behaviors and problems.
You or your child can be treated in a variety of settings which include my North Boulder office, the community where you live, the local outdoors or your home. I also incorporate adventure-based wilderness therapy techniques, into my counseling practice whenever possible, which could include anything from walking and talking, hiking in the foothills, exploring a local park, eating out, or rock climbing. At other times I am assisted by my therapy dog Trooper.
I offer a free consultation over the phone or virtually to answer any questions you may have. This also allows me to begin to understand your situation and will help me determine if I would be a good fit for you or your child.
I work with a wide range of emotional issues, diverse people and will provide you a comfortable, safe and supportive atmosphere. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for. I look forward to getting to know you or your child and helping turn a challenging situation into an opportunity to grow, heal, learn, and find joy and happiness again.
