Katie DeVoll
Are you overwhelmed with feeling anxious or sad? Having trouble adjusting to recent changes in your life? You’re in the right place. I help college students and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression and life changes to feel more at peace, less worried, and more confident. Your experiences and story matter and I am here to listen. My job is to help you to help yourself. I will help you to explore your own strengths and struggles in a safe, nonjudgmental space. My goal is to be transparent, supportive, and informative while being culturally sensitive and LGBTIA+ affirming. I hold sessions Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm.
During the first several sessions, I will help you to identify your goals while reflecting on your personal strengths that have helped you to get you to today. I want you to remember that you have survived every day before this one and that you are resilient. We work towards your goals with a speed that is comfortable for you, checking in on your progress throughout. I incorporate aspects of mindfulness to help you to cope and to heal while providing psychoeducation to help you to better understand your emotions and to gain insight into your experiences. I often give ‘homework’ to help to build new coping skills and to improve communication styles. Everything we will work on will be together, so I will always be transparent and you will always have a voice.
