I work with couples and adults. I help college students who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or feel overwhelmed by the transition to college, their workload, or have experienced a loss. I help couples rebuild/strengthen their friendship, learn how to manage their conflict and find ways to compromise, deal with differences in parenting, process past hurt, and deal with other stressors that can impact the relationship, such as OCD, Depression, in-law problems, work schedules, or working together. I also offer premarital counseling for couples hoping to navigate important conversations prior to marriage. I support adults with work stress, anxiety, family/relationship issues, grief, divorce, and acclimating to college or any other big life transition. I'm certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and received intensive training in the Gottman Method for Couples therapy. Both are research- based, which means they have been shown to be effective. It also means that there are many tools that I can draw from to support you. Reaching out for help is a vulnerable thing and finding the right therapist is KEY to a successful journey in therapy. I offer free phone or video consultations to make sure you get a sense of what it might be like to work with me, and for me to hear more about you and make sure I have the tools/experience to help you. I hope to hear from you soon!

I have always found it easy to be in tune with emotions and I feel like I can provide a non-anxious presence that can help guide. I believe two of my biggest strengths are being an empathetic and understanding person, and as cheesy as it sounds, I truly take pleasure in knowing that I can utilize these strengths to offer support to my future clients during some of their most challenging times. I also have experience working with many different people in different settings and that has allowed me to widen my understanding and it has positively impacted how I practice. I make sure to be visibly engaged through validating thoughts and feelings as well as utilizing reflective listening skills. I recognize I am human and if I do not understand something I am courageous enough to ask questions and gain insight on my client’s perspective, background, culture, faith, etc. It is not lost on me that it is a privilege to work with people at such a vulnerable level. I always aim to provide a safe, empowering, yet warm environment for all of my clients. And I am also not afraid of big emotions, on the contrary I welcome them. I believe the hour we have together is your time to be able to freely express your most inner thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner practicing in San Diego and through telehealth in the state of California. My approach to mental health involves the whole person, and we work together to focus on all aspects of life and health–emotional, social, and physical. In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enriches my perspective and the care I provide. We will address lifestyle factors (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) that, in addition to medication and therapy, impact a person’s overall well-being and mental health. I develop collaborative treatment plans with you and treat a broad range of conditions, with a particular interest in anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, ADHD, PTSD, and affirmative mental healthcare for gender-expansive and trans folks.
We all come into therapy for our own reasons. Whatever may have brought you into the room, you will find a compassion based space for growth, self discovery and inner work. Therapy is a collaborative act, where we can explore both who you are and why. I utilize a non-oppressive and non-judgmental approach. I see the therapeutic relationship as a microcosm of your relationships in other areas. We will discuss the therapeutic relationship, examine rupture, and identify patterns in the therapeutic space. I am engaging, intuitive and open to discuss the latest episode of Love is Blind or True Detective.
In my private practice I work with individuals, couples and families who struggle with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, grief, relationship impasse, low self-esteem and existential concerns. Life is rough sometimes, and it’s so easy to feel stuck, wondering where life is going. My goal is to help you find new perspectives and new ways of looking at any situation, so that you can approach life with confidence and authenticity. Along with bringing a multicultural perspective to therapy as a therapist of color, I utilize an integrative approach of Narrative and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, and other modalities that fit your unique life journey. I find the greatest enjoyment in working with adults, couples, and adolescents from culturally diverse backgrounds. Areas of concern that I have extensive experience in includes, anxiety, burnout, depression, interpersonal/ relationship difficulties, racial stress and trauma, general school-work-life balance stress, helping clients cultivate a healthy relationship with physical fitness, as well as those simply seeking a bit more fulfillment or life satisfaction. I also work diligently in conducting psychological assessments and ADHD evaluations. Of special interest, my research on the psychological impact of code-switching behavior in African-Americans allows me a unique perspective on how to help professionals of color learn to cope with stress. Coupled with my passion for social justice, advocacy and the role they play in mental health, my goal is to help break the stigma of mental health in communities of color. If you feel we may be a good fit, or desire to learn more about my specialties, experience & approaches to therapy, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to speaking with you!

I have over 20 years of experience working with a variety of concerns and populations, including with college students in Toronto Canada. I particularly love working on personal identity and roadblocks that can feel like they get in the way, for example anxiety and depression. I love to work with dream interpretation to delve into the unconscious aspects at play as well as spiritual and existential questions which can start arising in college such as “who am I? What am I meant to be doing and how?” Similarly life transitions, cross cultural concerns and substance abuse are areas that I have expertise in.
College and young adulthood can be an exciting but stressful time. People may see you as focused and driven, but inside you feel more scattered and anxious than they realize. Perfectionism and an internal critic run your schedule. School, work, relationships, finding time for yourself—you feel like it's all too much, but you also worry you're not doing enough. You often say "Yes" when you want to say, "No, I can't handle one more thing!" Trying to manage ADHD, trauma, or just your day-to-day mood on top of everything feels extra exhausting. You wish you could feel balanced, confident, more at ease... maybe even kinder to yourself. I can help you navigate the "typical" aspects of young adulthood that are actually more challenging than they look. We'll focus on what's most important to you, whether that's exploring internal dynamics or learning new skills to cope with the daily tough stuff. My therapy style is interactive, collaborative, and inclusive—both tears and laughter are always welcome. I know starting therapy can feel tough, but finding a great therapist shouldn't be. To that end, I'm happy to offer you a free consultation to answer your questions, connect a bit, and see if I'm a good fit for your therapy needs. Please reach out to schedule a call!
