Our approach involves viewing situations through a multicultural lens, enabling us to comprehend your unique needs through active listening, empathy, and a non-judgmental perspective. We specialize in EMDR, CBT, Brainspotting, Solution-Focused Treatment, & Mindfulness. We bring extensive expertise in treating trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, mindfulness, and grief. Our EMDR-based approach focuses on desensitizing and reprocessing negative beliefs, allowing for deep healing without the need for unnecessary re-traumatization.This process involves sharing minimal details while still creating lasting, transformative change. We are a team of EMDR trauma therapists committed to reducing barriers to mental health care. To support this mission, our practice operates entirely online via a HIPAA-secure video platform, allowing us to create a strong therapeutic relationship while focusing on both your short-term and long-term goals in each session.

I once heard someone doing a lecture say, “we know what we believe when we hear what we say.” This would definitely inform the kind of therapy you would experience with me. I view the client as the one who has the answers, and we’re working together to solve a mystery. One of my roles is to help my client tell the story, point out clues being overlooked, gently challenge entrenched beliefs, provide unconditional positive regard, and help the client make sense of their difficulties and their world. Our work together would be collaborative. I’m not a “sit, nod, and take notes” therapist. I’m interactive, and socratic, and relational. I view thoughts, feelings, and behaviors from a lens of curiosity; wondering what beliefs are behind them; helping to root out dynamics that help those things persist. Often we are stuck in a distorted comfort in familiar pain and we simply cannot see it without someone reflecting that in the room. I am an integrative (drawing from multiple therapeutic orientations) humanist-existential therapist; an enthusiastic cheerleader. I will bring humor and validation into the session. I’m passionate about brain chemistry. I am social-justice oriented. I am also trauma-informed. While I work in many different focuses of psychotherapy, I find that the most pervasive themes in my work with clients include: adjustment to life changes, problems with alcohol and substance use (and the way that co-occurring mental health issues interact with it), LGBTQIA+ topics, issues of neurodiversity, anxiety and depression, personality disorders, identity & esteem development, and healthy relationships of all shapes and sizes. I am experienced, both professionally and personally, working with a variety of relationship configurations and am highly comfortable talking about issues of sex positivity and non-standard definitions of families and relationships such as polyamory and non-monogamy. I am a licensed therapist, an addiction professional, a bit of a technology geek, and a fellow traveler in recovery. In addition to those things, I am Compliance Officer at an all women’s addiction treatment center where I’ve worked in various capacities ranging from counselor to director since 2010. I have also been an adjunct professor in the Master’s program at Pacific Oaks College, an adjunct professor for Glendale College’s Drug Studies program, and I served on the board of the California Association for Drug/Alcohol Educators (CAADE). I am a member of CAMFT at both the state level and in the San Gabriel Valley chapter.

I work with adults and adolescents who are often times struggling with anxiety or depression. Sometimes, there aren't obvious symptoms; instead, there's a sense that something seems to be interfering with their ability to be happy, their relationships, or the life they want to live. I help people see themselves from a new angle, uncovering unconscious beliefs and seeing the collective parts of themselves from a new and accepting perspective. I am accepting new remote clients in California and remote and/or in-person clients in Oregon. Please visit my website to learn more.

Reaching out for help can be one of the hardest things to do when you're struggling the most. What if no one understands you or you feel judged? How do you know you can trust them to take you seriously or care? I understand that these are natural fears when you're sharing the hurt and vulnerable parts of yourself. For this reason, my goal is to make sure you feel safe and heard by providing an empathetic and judgement-free space regardless of your background. As a licensed clinical social worker, I have experience working with young and older adults of diverse backgrounds through issues related to identity, life transitions, depression, and anxiety. I also work with couples of all sexual orientations to improve communication, intimacy, and develop a more empathic understanding of each other.

Do you struggle with trusting others or with feelings of not being "enough"? Have you experienced trauma or difficult relationships? Have you ever used substances to numb stress or to distract? Sometimes your brain is your worst enemy. You question your worthiness and your lovability. There is pain from your past that has led you to build up walls to protect yourself from being hurt again. But here you are, done feeling stuck. You want to have deep connections. You want to feel confident and successful. I support people who have experienced self doubt, pain, and trauma begin to heal so that they can thrive in their lives. Together we break the cycle of anxiety and disconnection. There will be compassion and some laughs along the way. You will find your hope. You will find your way to creating success and improving relationships. EMDR, IFS, & CBT offered. Everyone deserves therapy. We all deserve time when we are truly seen and validated. Many of us like to think we can handle things on our own. Maybe we were told by people in our lives “suck it up" and be tougher. But life gets messy sometimes and we can't do it alone. Let's navigate this together. Give yourself this gift. As a former Associate Director for a college counseling center, students are a population that I truly enjoy working with. I look forward to connecting with you. Appointments can conveniently be scheduled directly through website, through email, or by phone. This practice is inclusive and welcoming to all genders, races, countries of origin, sexual orientations, religions, abilities, and body sizes.

I'm a licensed psychotherapist based in California. I am first generation Mexican American and have lived in Los Angeles all my life. I am a bilingual, Spanish/English, speaking therapist; although I gravitate towards speaking Spanglish. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work from USC. I received my B.S. in Sociology and Criminology from Mount St. Mary’s University. I have been working as a therapist for the past six years; where I have supported others in their mental health journey. Throughout my career as a therapist, I have worked serving low income communities and minorities in the public mental health sector. I have experience working with individuals struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, mania, and psychosis. I am passionate about working with adults navigating life transitions who feel overwhelmed and confused when thinking about their future. They often question that they are “not good enough” or worry about living up to other people’s expectations. We can work together in finding your identity, self confidence, motivation, and drive to face your challenges.

I specialize in sex therapy, which means that I enjoy working with individuals and couples (or people in poly relationships) who may be struggling with any sex-related issues. The types of issues that people tend to see me for include sexual dysfunctions (like problems with orgasm, erection, or sexual pain), intimate relationship concerns, sexual orientation or gender identity, and sexual trauma. I also see folks who are dealing with other issues, such as anxiety or depression. Some of the people I work with have a very specific goal for treatment, while others need more ongoing treatment for deeper, more lifelong concerns. A lot of people struggle with some aspect of their sexuality, but they may find it difficult to talk about their problems, fears, or concerns with anyone. I am very open to hearing whatever is going on in your life and I'm not afraid to talk about sex. As a sex therapist, I know a lot about sex and sexuality and I can use this knowledge to help! It can be really difficult reaching out for the first time, so it's great that you're already looking for professional support with whatever is bothering you in your life. Please reach out to me if you think that we might be a good fit in working together - I am here to hep whenever you're ready!

One of the greatest gifts I've received in my 19+ years of private practice, has been to witness individuals as they move towards healing, and discover a more fulfilling, whole life. The hold an eating disorder, anxiety or trauma can have on a life is profound. To watch the grip loosen, and healing emerge, is very moving. I enjoy learning, and collecting new tools and skills to help my clients. After I obtained my MSW from New York University's School of Social Work, I completed postgraduate training in eating disorders and body image issues at the Women's Therapy Centre Institute, and in Trauma Studies at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. In addition, I completed a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing, and have assisted at professional trainings, helping other therapists to learn the model. I've led eating disorder groups for New York University's Counseling Center and various non-profit organizations, and have served as both a lecturer and group case consultant on eating disorders and trauma at postgraduate institutes in New York City. Interested in creating a culturally and spiritually sensitive practice, I completed a two-year program studying the world's major faith traditions, in an effort to better understand my clients from all backgrounds. I do not take any insurance. My fees range from $150-175 based on need, and I do not presently have a sliding scale beyond that range. If you have questions, or would like to request an appointment, please feel free to contact me. I offer ONLINE ONLY therapy in CA, CO and NY.
