Survivor of trauma. Struggling with addiction. Creative. Do at least two of these three describe you? If you're struggling to get sober, you're fearful about the impact sobriety might have on your creativity (and life in general). If you're in early sobriety, you're trying to gain your footing in a new landscape. If you're a trauma survivor, you're confused as to why your insight & sensitivity aren't helping you get to that light at the end of the tunnel. What do you do if your pain is too great to manage on your own? Working with me, you will be accepted & listened to carefully & perceptively. You will feel much more grounded & centered. I adapt my style to fit you and aim to treat you with a balance of gentleness and active encouragement.
College can be an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming, confusing, and really hard to navigate. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, big life decisions, or just feeling unsure of who you are and where you’re headed—you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I specialize in working with college students and young adults who are in this exact stage of life. My approach is supportive, practical, and focused on helping you build the confidence and clarity you need to move forward. I’m here to offer a space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and start making changes that actually help you feel better.
Having trained at Notre Dame, U.C. Berkeley and Stanford, I bring rigorous scientific expertise into my clinical work with adolescents, college students, millennials and high profile professionals. I often work with high-achieving individuals who find themselves looking for practical solutions to the barriers that impede their success. My clients are often driven, maybe a little overworked, and in need of balance! Having been there myself, I get it! I aim to be part coach, part cheerleader, and part educator as I support clients in living their optimal lives zestfully and fearlessly! I love what I do and can't wait to meet you! As a TEDx speaker, top media expert, adjunct professor at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology, tv personality and author of multiple clinical workbooks and tools, I employ a highly active approach to therapy. I combine CBT, mindfulness, and positive psychology interventions. My therapy style is a blend of processing emotions and teaching critical life skills. In today's ever fast-paced world, we can feel disconnected and alone. I thrive on building relationships marked by empathy, trust, hope, and always, laughter. Being a therapist has been my life's passion since I was 11! How many therapists can say that? ***Please note I only see clients virtually part-time. Please also review my website and FAQ PRIOR to booking and inquiries. TY!!
I am interested in working with motivated students who are willing to invest themselves in the therapeutic process. I provide a safe place to talk and a supportive place to address what "hurts", "what's really hard and stressful in their life". Therapy is a relationship based on team work and a willingness to invest attention and time from me as well as from the client. Some issues are resolved quickly while others require more attention and time to resolve.

My therapeutic style is warm and genuine and I like to use humor when appropriate. I am a big proponent of using therapeutic techniques that have good research evidence demonstrating their effectiveness. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adolescents and adults. CBT teaches clients coping skills to manage their emotions and behaviors. It also changes clients' emotions by helping them change their thoughts and behaviors. I provide CBT to address the following presenting problems: depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and difficulties adjusting to major life changes. DBT is an adaption of CBT that was developed to help clients with multiple problems in multiple areas who struggle with chronically dysregulated emotions. These clients may also have suicidal behaviors, self-harm behaviors, impulsive behaviors, difficulties in their interpersonal relationships, and/or Borderline Personality Disorder. I also have specialty training in the DBT Prolonged Exposure protocol for individuals with comorbid Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD. In terms of my education and experience, I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University in 2014. I then participated in my first postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington with Dr. Marsha Linehan, the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Afterwards, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Jacqueline Pistorello at the University of Nevada, Reno, focusing on providing clinical services to college students and conducting research on evidence-based treatments for suicidal behaviors. As a faculty member at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, I taught medical students, psychiatry residents, and child psychiatry fellows about psychology, therapeutic techniques, and how to interact with patients. I opened my private practice in 2017 in Reno, Nevada and recently moved to Virginia.

If you’re a Gen Z or millennial woman who only realized you had OCD as an adult, you know what it’s like to feel stuck in your own mind. You might spend hours needing things to feel “just right,” second-guessing every choice, or checking and re-checking just to feel certain. You keep your thoughts to yourself because you know they don’t make sense but they still feel so real, and over time this can feel isolating and lonely. Decisions can start to feel impossible. Intrusive thoughts loop endlessly. The constant urge to get rid of doubt can be exhausting. If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken and you don’t have to face it alone. I support women questioning whether they have OCD or navigating a late diagnosis. Many feel trapped by intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, and the mental and emotional strain of trying to control every outcome. If you find yourself seeking reassurance just to feel a sense of relief, you’re in the right place. Therapy can be a space where you practice staying present even when your mind is loud. Together, we’ll work on sitting with discomfort, building safety in uncertainty, and developing tools that actually work for your life, not against it. My goal is to help you create more room for confidence and self-trust. I’m here and ready when you are. Reach out today.
A willingness to seek support is a sign of strength. As an empathic and experienced professional, I provide support with compassion and understanding. I work to help you achieve your personal, relational, and professional goals through a strength-based approach using CBT and EFT. To further support you, I have additional training in Gottman’s Couples Therapy (Levels I & II) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. I am also a certified grief informed professional and certified in EMDR.
Feeling stuck and empty? Worrying about relationships and feeling lonely? Anxiety and sadness? Overeating, using drugs or alcohol to cope? You are not alone and we can help. Individuals, couples, families. Ages 16 to adult.
College can be a time of major change - new pressures, big decisions, and lots of uncertainty. If you're feeling stuck or in transition, we’ll work together to clarify what you want, what’s getting in the way, and how to build more self-trust. You'll learn to feel more grounded, even when things in school or life feel unclear or in-between.
I am very passionate about meeting people where they are at. I truly believe that each individual is doing their best with what they have and what resources are available to them. The compassion that I have for others has led to me to invest in groups that are near and dear to me personally. I am committed to serving those that have felt out of place, are underrepresented, and those that experience prejudice due to various elements of their identity. I believe that all individuals have the ability to seek growth, connect to their values, and are generally trying to do their best with the cards that life has dealt them. My hope as a therapist is that I can provide you with a genuine, authentic, and safe connection that provides a space for you to tap into your ability to heal and live a life that is fulfilling. I will be an ally from a non judgmental stance and respect your own individual sense of agency. I will also collaborate with you on your journey to wholeness no matter what stage of the journey you are on. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive and holistic therapy that takes into consideration one’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual self.

I specialize in working with female students who are struggling with anxiety or stress. Maybe you are noticing burnout and feeling a lack of interest in classes, feeling stressed with upcoming exams, feeling anxious making new friends, or feeling completely overwhelmed by the sorority system at school. College or graduate school is meant to be an experience of self-discovery, but you may find yourself isolating, worrying, anxious, or overwhelmed. If you are looking to feel in control of your life again and get back to enjoying life, you have come to the right place! As someone who experiences anxiety myself and struggled to get into the groove of college, I I get it! I would love to support you in coping with any anxiety or stress you are currently experiencing to help you feel relief and get back that enjoyment of life! Please reach out today.
Dr. Marcille here. I am a licensed psychologist with over 30 years experience working with college students. I am a psychology professor and former dean of students. Anxiety, stress and burnout are among the most common struggles people face, yet so many continue to carry them in silence. For those living with it, the pain is very real. It is waking up each morning already feeling trapped in your own thoughts, your body locked in a constant fight or flight state you cannot seem to shut off. It is lying down at night desperate for rest, only to wake up the next day still exhausted, as though no amount of effort ever brings true relief. If this feels familiar, know that you are not alone. These experiences are more than symptoms, they are part of the weight you have been carrying every single day. I help college students and young adults break free from the relentless grip of anxiety and stress by creating highly personalized, evidence-based programs that guide them toward clarity and control. In therapy, you will uncover what is happening in your body, understand why it occurs, and learn to use a range of effective tools so anxiety no longer controls your life. If you are ready to take charge of your anxiety and begin living life on your own terms, I encourage you to reach out for support. Therapy can be the turning point you’ve been searching for, offering tools to navigate stress, burnout, and overwhelming thoughts so you no longer have to face them alone or accept them as your reality.
