Therapists for college students near San Diego, CA
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I serve clients across California through secure and convenient telehealth visits bringing personalized care to you, wherever you are. My goal is to make psychiatric care feel accessible, judgment-free, and genuinely supportive. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. My approach is integrative — combining medication management with education, mindfulness, and supportive therapy. I take time to understand the whole picture using a bio-psycho-social lens: looking at how biological factors (like vitamin deficiencies or hormonal imbalances), psychological stressors (like trauma or burnout), and social dynamics (like school or work pressure) all impact mental health. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent several years as a registered nurse, and I’ve worked extensively in both inpatient psychiatry and as a clinical consultant. My training and experience allow me to treat each person as a whole not as a list of symptoms, and to create care plans that are practical, empowering, and tailored to you. Outside of work, I love traveling and spending time with my son and family. These connections remind me of the importance of balance, joy, and meaningful relationships — values I bring into my work every day. Here, you're not just receiving treatment — you're being seen, heard, and supported as a whole person. My mission is to help you move from just surviving to truly thriving.
Survivor of trauma. Struggling with addiction. Creative. Do at least two of these three describe you? If you're struggling to get sober, you're fearful about the impact sobriety might have on your creativity (and life in general). If you're in early sobriety, you're trying to gain your footing in a new landscape. If you're a trauma survivor, you're confused as to why your insight & sensitivity aren't helping you get to that light at the end of the tunnel. What do you do if your pain is too great to manage on your own? Working with me, you will be accepted & listened to carefully & perceptively. You will feel much more grounded & centered. I adapt my style to fit you and aim to treat you with a balance of gentleness and active encouragement.

Hi, I'm a local psychotherapist specializing in anxiety, trauma, relationships, life transitions, grief, and more. If you are interested in seeing if I could be a good match, you can contact me through text, email, or phone.
I specialize in deep, long-term therapy for people who want to better understand themselves, their relationships and the world around them. We all create patterns and parts of ourselves to survive as best we can in an unpredictable world. One of the most enriching endeavors to embark on is an explorations of ourselves in a deep and intentional way. It can be transcendental to work with someone to unravel behaviors and unconscious patterns and to begin to discover our essential selves.
I am a bilingual therapist helping individuals dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, life-stage transitions, and other debilitating situations. My work is client-centered and culturally sensitive. I use evidence-based practices to provide focused treatment and positive outcomes. I incorporate solution-focused, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems techniques. Through talk therapy, I guide clients to overcome issues affecting their everyday lives. I work with individual adults addressing depression, anxiety, and trauma, and their effects on mood, functioning, and relationships. I focus on your strengths, thoughts, feelings, and dynamics for a healthier you. I also work with the LGBTQ community on youth-at-risk issues, coming-out, and exploring the lifestyle you want to create.
Hello, my name is Dayna Hunt and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist in the State of California. I was born and raised in Northern California, specifically Marin County. I have lived in Southern California and also Seattle, Washington. I have traveled across the United States as well as to Europe and lived a short time in Australia. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, spending time in nature and with family. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree at California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, CA and my Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology at Dominican University in San Rafael, Calif. I have always enjoyed listening to people's stories and problem solving. I knew I wanted to be a counselor at a very young age and began pursuing psychology early in life.
My style and approach tend to be a good fit for young adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and societal pressures. I aim to support my clients in navigating these issues and to build skills to develop a more positive life. My communication style is calm, direct, and adaptable. I want my clients to feel comfortable and supported when talking to me about anything they want to share at their own pace. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client, but I tend to lean towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive psychology, or Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. These modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality, and allow us to work together to create change. Please reach out via email or call (661-465-2590) if website availability does not match your schedule. I have a flexible schedule.

Hi, I’m Samantha (she/her). I’m a mixed-race, queer therapist providing down-to-earth, individual, virtual therapy to teens & young adults. I support young people as they process trauma, move through life’s challenges, & shape lives that feel authentic & joyful to themselves. These years can be overwhelming, complex, & full of questions around identity, relationships, & how to feel safe in your own skin. I am here to be an ally through it all. I am particularly passionate about working with immigrants, queer, trans, & gender-expansive communities, & folks facing the impacts of trauma & systemic violence. My style is warm, thoughtful, and nonpathologizing – I believe healing occurs within a larger social context. If you think we'd be a good fit, email or call me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call! I look forward to connecting with you. Currently practicing under supervision of Rayne Banneck, LMFT #124607 through Axis Mundi Center for Mental Health in California.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can finally exhale. You are taking the first step and reaching out for therapy can feel hard, my hope is to offer you safety, understanding, and support as you begin your journey toward healing and growth. Many people I support are navigating anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, life transitions, or relationship challenges. I also work with couples who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, or feel more connected in their relationship. In addition, I have a special passion for supporting parents of children with special needs and understand how emotionally and physically demanding that role can be. You don’t have to carry everything on your own. In our work together, you can expect a warm, honest, and collaborative approach. Therapy with me is not about being “fixed,” but about helping you better understand yourself, build healthier patterns, and develop tools that fit your real life. We will move at your pace and focus on what matters most to you. My goal is for therapy to feel like a partnership where you feel empowered, not judged. I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at National University, with training in both individual and relationship-focused therapy. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, listening to music, and getting lost in a good book. My own life experiences have shaped my belief that healing happens through genuine connection, compassion, and feeling truly seen. If you’re considering therapy, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
Each person comes to therapy for unique and personal reasons. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or undervalued in your relationships or career choices. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who empowers folks like you to connect to their authentic selves and make meaningful changes in their life. I frequently work with graduate students, and specialize in working with underrepresented communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients, creative thinkers, artists and activists. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, races, faiths, and abilities.

My work is collaborative, conversational and client-centered. Your goals are my goals, and understanding the values beneath those goals often drives my curiosity. Sometimes it can feel like different parts of us want different things or are even in conflict with each other. Understanding how to negotiate with these different parts - and to honor how and why they came to be - can help us find the agency to live lives of integrity, freedom, meaning, and connection.
We are a non-profit organization offering affordable and inclusive therapy services by highly trained associates and trainees to individuals, children/adolescents, couples, and families of all communities residing in California.
