Are you tired of "reacting" and not feeling good about yourself? Is your past controlling you in the present in ways that aren't serving you? When we are "hijacked" by our past experiences we lose the ability to "choose" how we want to respond. This affects how we feel physically and emotionally; which can make us feel depressed, anxious, shameful. This in turn impacts the quality of our interpersonal relationships. It doesn't have to be that way. I see therapy as a relational and collaborative process that supports wellbeing on mental, physical and spiritual levels. My approach blends several Somatic and Talk based psychotherapies: EMDR, The Trauma Resiliency Model, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Relational, and several, Mindfulness based awareness techniques which include my many years background in the healing effects of yoga. Each person is an embodied being with pleasant an unpleasant experiences embedded in the flesh and bones and tangled in the mind. My therapeutic work with individuals and couples is to process the unpleasant and build resiliency in support of personal transformation.
I'm a clinical psychologist with extensive expertise working with individuals facing a variety of life's challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and life transitions. I also incorporate EMDR to support my clinical work for clients who have experienced various types of trauma. You can expect to work collaboratively and at your pace to address your concerns. I prioritize the development of a safe and trusting therapeutic foundation that allows for deeper understanding and supports your growth. Additionally, I am able to practice via telehealth in over 30 states through PsyPact. If things are hard right now, as life can often be, please reach out. You don't have to do this alone. When you are ready to take the next step I am happy to provide a free consultation call to help determine if we are a good fit. I look forward to talking with you!
Based in the SF Bay Area, I offer trauma-informed psychological treatment for post-traumatic stress, addiction, grief, anxiety, depression, and related life challenges, as well as support for positive growth and insight building. I primarily utilize a combination of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and IFS (internal family systems) therapies to provide a somatic and source-focused approach to healing. I educate my clients on the universality of traumatic and addictive experiences. I define trauma broadly as any past experience that remains charged and disturbing, and thus has value in alleviating mental health challenges in the present. It's helpful to understand how traumatic and addictive elements exists in all of us and are not static, but rather ebb and flow as reverberations of past experiences (and those of our family of origin). l frame the looping amplification of addiction as stemming from a healthy evolutionary need to feel safe and easeful, but in a way that can become self-destructive through the distortion of trauma that resides in our nervous systems, until processed.
As an integrative mind-body psychotherapist, I help my client’s overcome a range of issues including childhood trauma and relationships challenges. I enjoy working with both individuals and couples and I address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, sexuality, and relationships. Childhood trauma can be challenging to navigate and overcome, but with a compassionate and informed approach, healing and breakthrough is truly possible. I help clients who are frustrated with the results they have gotten from therapy thus far, and are looking for something deeper and more effective. I combine psychotherapy with Somatic Experiencing, attachment focused EMDR and Cranioscaral Therapy to help my clients heal on the mind and body levels for optimal results. Healing is possible even if your issues seem insurmountable. Trust that you can reach wholeness and well-being again. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a initial free 10-minute consultation.

Online or in-person, this is designated for individuals to process and explore their feelings, thoughts and beliefs. Typically, meetings are weekly or bi-weekly. I help millennials and young adults explore the challenges in their life and find ways to more effectively manage feelings that are no longer serving them. I have worked with a lot of different populations in my career but I really love working with young professionals, undergraduate, and graduate students.

Do you ever feel as though life is even tougher than it should be, or that solutions always seem just out of reach? You're not alone, even though it can feel that way when stress builds up and you're not sure where to turn. Students today face a wide range of challenges on campus, such as demanding classes, financial pressures, and navigating new relationships with professors and peers, not to mention figuring out how you relate to your family, community, or even yourself as you enter adulthood. The uncertainty and decisions can be overwhelming. As a licensed psychologist with almost 8 years of private practice experience in San Francisco, I can help you think through overwhelming situations and develop strategies that will work for you. I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and many kinds of life transitions and stress. I believe therapy should provide a welcoming, supportive place to grow and practice relating to thoughts, feelings, and other people in healthier ways. A good therapy session should feel like a satisfying - if challenging, at times! - conversation with someone who really understands your needs and goals.
