Therapists for college students near 80309
I work with college students and young adults who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, overthinking, performance pressure, and emotional shutdown — even when they are capable and motivated. Many of the students I support struggle with test anxiety, presentations, interviews, perfectionism, panic symptoms, or the sense that their nervous system goes into “fight or flight” under pressure. Others experience anxiety and depression together, which can affect motivation, focus, and connection. My approach is neuroscience-informed and practical. I use evidence-based therapies including EMDR, ACT, CBT, Polyvagal-informed therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies to help clients regulate their nervous system, reduce reactivity, and build confidence in real-world situations. I provide a supportive, structured space where students can develop tools to manage stress, improve emotional regulation, and move forward with greater clarity and resilience

We are always changing, learning, and growing. Our bodies are wired with an innate capacity for and draw towards this growth. If you are feeling stuck, sad, anxious, angry, or lost you are in the right place. In therapy we will work together to create the conditions to allow that growth process to unfold. That may be learning skills, processing emotions or events, or practicing new ways of being. I believe deeply in the unique gifts of each of my clients and we’ll work by identifying places of stuckness and leveraging the strengths and resources that are already a part of who you are towards the growth you are longing for. Growth, like any other change, can be scary, exciting, messy, and sometimes confusing. Working with me you will have a safe place to explore the twists and turns of your journey, knowing you don't have to do this alone. I am a therapist with experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment wounding, and suicidality. I have worked in outdoor therapeutic settings and crisis response. I work with LGBTQ2IA+ and trans/non-binary folks in their journeys with sexuality and gender. And I operate with a lens of systemic oppression and community healing, using both cognitive and body-based frameworks. I work with adults, young adults, and teens.

“The best way out is always through." -Robert Frost This quote exemplifies my philosophy toward counseling, emotional healing and personal growth. When we are struggling with emotional issues, relationship distress or transitions in our lives we often need to work through these to gain insight, relief, emotional growth and healing. My approach to treating individuals is informed by my training in ACT, CBT, DBT, IFS, Schema Therapy and Interpersonal Neurobiology. My approach to treating couples is informed by my training in PACT, Gottman Method, EFT and EFFT. I am Jodi Seidel a Licensed Professional Counselor. I enjoy working with Couples & Individuals experiencing a wide variety of issues such as; emotional distress, transitional and relationship issues, binge eating disorder, attachment injury and trauma. I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership that I am honored to be walking through with you. I provide a supportive environment allowing clients to first work through problematic symptoms, gain relief, then curiously explore underlying issues that will lead to a deeper understanding of self, relationships, emotional repair and healing.
Therapy asks us to tap into vulnerable parts of ourselves. It requires safety and comfort. My clients are courageous enough to show up as their authentic selves, therefore I value being my authentic self within our therapeutic relationship. I incorporate empirically supported interventions into our time processing concerns, building self-awareness, making meaningful changes, and exploring identities. I specialize working with individuals who desire to dedicate less time and energy to food and body image concerns, and more time to aspects of life truly important to them. I approach disordered eating and body image work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. I want my clients to “taste life” and to experience it in a fulfilling way. I also have ample experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, relational concerns, life transitions, perfectionism, ADD/ADHD, and athletic identity. I value and enjoy working with diverse populations and strive to create a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. While we may not share identities or experiences, it is my mission as your therapist to approach our work with humility and to gain understanding of your authentic self.

I believe that therapy can help us to move toward greater self-understanding, empowerment, and fulfillment. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic space in which you and I can collaboratively process through thoughts, feelings, and experiences with openness and compassion. So often societal messages and stigmas can cause us to view our behaviors with shame and judgment, which can lead us to feel even more stuck. My goal is to support you in slowing down, shifting toward curiosity and compassion, and feeling empowered to make the changes that you seek. I am a good fit for clients who are seeking an active therapist. I work well with clients who are motivated for self-exploration and behavioral change. I believe therapy offers clients an opportunity to explore discomfort, emotional pain, and discover how to live more authentically. During college years, living away from home often for the first time can be challenging. Introduction to new theories and perspectives as well as people from different backgrounds can be anxiety provoking, shaking up what was previously thought to be "truths." Many college students find themselves reworking their sense of self, wanting to become their best most authentic self.
Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming. Between the jargon and endless options, it’s easy to feel stuck. I'm here to make the process easier. Many of my clients come to me feeling weighed down by anxiety, self-doubt, or pressure to “get it right.” They often struggle with body image, self-worth, or the persistent sense that they’re not enough. As a trauma-informed therapist, I help clients build confidence, strengthen emotional connections, and feel more aligned in their lives and relationships. Together, we’ll work on breaking old patterns and creating a stronger, more authentic sense of self.
