As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I help children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate severe anxiety, depression, life transitions, phobias, grief, gender or identity issues, boundaries and self-care, interpersonal relationships, and trauma. Whether you're a teenager struggling with self-esteem or self-harm thoughts, an adult working through a major life change, or a couple looking to rebuild connection, this is a nonjudgemental space where you are heard, understood, and supported while exploring your own desires, motivations, and needs. For teens, I offer the tools to manage the pressures of school, home, and everyday life. For adults, we work together to untangle the weight of anxiety, depression, stress, and transitions so you can craft a clear path toward your goals. For couples, the focus is on rediscovering what it means to be a team, navigating conflict resolution and codependency, and building the communication skills and trust to get there. No matter what you’re facing, I believe every person has the capacity not only to overcome challenges but to truly thrive. My role is to be a guide as you do exactly that – provide the environment where you can better yourself and shed unhealthy patterns. If you’ve found yourself encountering obstacles and seeking ways to move forward, please reach out today. My work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a genuine belief in your ability to grow, in a safe, collaborative, and calm environment. Life moves fast, and the thoughts that come with it can quickly become overwhelming, which is why I help you slow down, untangle what's weighing on you, and build self-awareness so you can move forward with clarity and intention. Depending on your needs, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and person-centered approaches. Each method serves a different purpose: CBT and person-centered therapies help you explore different parts of yourself with insight and compassion; DBT and IFS offer practical skills and tools to grow while gaining personal insights. No matter the approach, you can always expect warmth, directness, and yes, humor. This is a space where you lead, and where we can go deep when the moment calls for it. Whether you're working through unhealthy habits in life, resolving negative patterns in a relationship, navigating personal challenges, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, the goal is always the same: to meet you where you are, uncover the conflicts holding you back, and help you get where you want to be. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own experience with family therapy, where I learned about myself and how to build healthier connections with the people closest to me. In college, I volunteered for 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and found real meaning in being able to offer that same kind of safe, supportive space for others. These experiences led me to Florida State University, where I earned both a Master of Science and an Education Specialist in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology and a double major in Business Management. That combination of lived experience and academic grounding shaped the kind of therapist I set out to become: one who brings both empathy and honest guidance into every session. Authentic connection and meaningful conversation are at the heart of this work, and I look forward to walking alongside you in yours. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me running, getting lost in a good book, playing board games, discovering new music, or sitting down to a great meal. Staying curious and continuing to learn are values I carry into every area of my life, including my work with you.
My name is Michelle Kennedy, and I am a licensed clinical social worker who works with young adults navigating identity, relationships, sexuality, trauma, and major life transitions. I know that college and early adulthood can be exciting, confusing, overwhelming, and deeply transformative all at once. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. As a queer woman and part of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals who are exploring their identity, questioning their sexuality, coming out, navigating family dynamics, or learning how to live more authentically. Whether you’re confident in who you are or still figuring things out, I strive to create a space that feels affirming, safe, and free of judgment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe healing happens through connection, honesty, and feeling truly seen. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, stress, self-esteem struggles, and the impact of past trauma, including abuse, neglect, and loss. Many of the people I work with are trying to reconnect with themselves, build healthier relationships, and feel more at home in their own lives. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, heal from painful experiences, and move toward a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and authentic to who you are.
You and your life isn’t one note. You are multifaceted and the demands you face happen to be as well – particularly when you are a student. Currently, the sound-track of your life has moved away from the sounds of a harmonious symphony -or maybe from an upbeat pop song- to something more unnerving and stressful (like the alarm you use to wake up to in the morning or the background music in a horror film—building tension, bracing yourself from some known or unknown threat). It makes sense that life has been overwhelming -increased responsibilities and life demands alone would contribute to this feeling. Add fears about the future, a recent breakup, challenging relationship dynamics with family, and/or other stressors and you might find yourself tipping the scales of your emotional bandwidth. I help students focus on the unique aspects of their lives that are no longer serving them – with empathy, tools, problem-solving, and emotional healing and growth. I believe you can have a richer and higher-quality of life– free from the overwhelming influence of your current life demands, harmful past experiences, poor modeling, and environmental toxicities (psychological). I love working with college students and young adults, helping them identify their values, where they're getting stuck, and how to go after the things they want. I specialize in working with adults with anxiety disorders including Generalized Anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, Panic attacks, and specific fears. I help clients overcome their anxiety by approaching, rather than avoiding, their anxiety and anxiety-provoking situations, learning tools and gaining confidence along the way. This can sound scary at first, but the more you do it, the easier it gets.
Hello! My name is Dr. Ashly Lawrence. I have been working with college students and young adults for almost twenty years. College is a time of self-exploration, transition, and identity development. It can also bring great stress, existential questions, and family of origin issues. I am here to support it all. I practice from a relational feminist lens and am best suited to support clients struggling with stress, anxiety, identity development, trauma, family of origin issues, relationship stressors, and life transitions. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and often work with folx with one or more marginalized identities.
About me I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my 3 siblings by a single mom and my great x2 uncle who was a former teacher and retired military. They made sure we understood the importance of education, resiliency, discipline and determination. My upbringing and community taught me the importance of needing to have people around who care and nurture different aspects of people. My Approach I look at people as being multifaceted and are influenced by many in their journey. I'm a firm believer that you can decide to change who you are and become who you want to be whenever you decide to. Being willing and open to challenge your own thoughts and behaviors no matter who you are or your age. My approach is transformative through inner work and behavior change.
In today’s fast-paced world, many people are expected to keep pushing forward while quietly carrying the emotional and physical burden of chronic illness. I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating chronic health conditions and the psychological challenges that often accompany them, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relational distress, and disenfranchised grief. I believe in a holistic path to healing; a path where the mind, body and spirit is embraced in the work that we will do together. I primarily use a combination of IFS, mindfulness, SE, hypnotherapy, CBT, ACT, and narrative therapies. Over the last 20 years I have worked extensively in a variety of healthcare settings including long-term care, hospice, and an acute care hospital setting. Recently, I worked as a medical social worker in the ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic where I supported patients and their loved ones in navigating the unknown. I also have experience in supporting those who suffer from more rare illnesses including autoimmune diseases, multiple chemical sensitivities, mast cell activation syndrome, chronic inflammatory response syndrome, and chronic Lyme. Working in a variety of healthcare settings has provided me with a unique lens into the many needs and adversities that individuals encounter in the US healthcare system. Through my experiences I have seen firsthand how connected our minds and bodies are, which led me to study interventions and techniques that can help manage a multitude of symptoms such as anxiety, pain, GI distress, and much more. I also have additional training in trauma-informed care and am now a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I work hard to find the right combination of therapeutic interventions to meet each individual's needs.
Unhelpful patterns and disconnection in relationships can keep partners unseen, frustrated, exhausted, and alone. It might be frequent fights, or conflict that escalates, or a desire for a deeper connection. I help couples with presentations ranging from premarital checkups to moving past affairs and high conflict. You can get to a clearer level of understanding and break out of your typical pattern. In nourishing a relationship, we build a safe haven of comfort and joy which gives the strength to face life challenges. This powerful force, called love, is the most important thing in this life. As a scientist-practitioner (24 research publications), I am devoted to effective, scientifically proven methods that forever change lives and relationships. I have advanced training in the most effective couples therapy methods (Emotion-Focused and Gottman Method). I can’t tell you how much I love seeing real change for the couples that I work with! I will guide you in having conversations that will move you and your partner toward a more secure relationship with greater joy. You don’t have to live another day with a sense of wanting more and wondering how to move toward the relationship you are yearning for. I hope you do reach out here or at www.TashaSeiterTherapy.com. Dr. Jessica Reyka, Psy.D., the founder and owner of Grass Roots Healing, LLC, is a firm believer that in order to reconnect and heal, we must first go back to the "root" of the problem or concern, which often stems far back into one's life, and then work towards healing from an inward-out approach. "The stronger our roots are, the more beautiful the leaves that come from the tree"; similar to the process of therapy where we rebuild the foundation from which you view the world and create a life/beliefs/behaviors that are more in alignment with your true values and authentic self. Dr. Reyka's experience involves complex trauma, attachment & relationship issues, anxiety & other mood disorders, adoption-related trauma, & rebuilding skills related to relaxation and stress management. She approaches therapy in a collaborative manner, truly connecting with her clients, listening to their needs/goals, while gently guiding them in healing. Grass Roots Healing, LLC is a safe place for LGBTQIAPK+ individuals & all ethnic and minority groups. We strive to embrace diversity within our practice and therapeutic work. We also strive to bring evidence-based interventions and holistic approaches/modalities into the therapeutic process. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
