Hello, and a warm welcome to you! I collaborate with clients to identify their challenges and find ways to utilize their strengths to move through them. I work with those who struggle with their identity (i.e., religious/spiritual, racial, gender, age, immigration status, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status), grief and loss, and traumatic experiences and help clients to feel more grounded and confident in who they are. I hope for you to live more fully into your "one wild and precious life" (Mary Oliver).

My primary goal is to empower individuals in achieving our fullest potential by providing an environment where they can feel heard and understood, and where they can work towards personal growth, self-awareness, and healing. I am passionate about working with people recovering from narcissistic abuse. I believe in the importance of treating the whole person in a holistic approach to healing. Whether talking about anxiety to depression to specific life stressors to complex trauma, I'm here to walk alongside individuals as they identify their paths forward in an enriching and centered life. Services are delivered via telehealth. I enjoy a strengths-based approach to therapy. I have found parts work to be quite helpful. I am EMDR trained. Overall, my approach is that I consult the client, not the theory or methodology. As a result, I'm eclectic in my approach and work to personalize counseling services. I can work with CBT methods as a supplement to other methods. If you are struggling with the aftermath of trauma, including complex trauma, and are seeking support, I am here to help. My goal is to help people navigate recovery from complex trauma by learning inherent patterns that result from it. Please don't hesitate to reach out to schedule a consultation or to learn more about my approach to therapy.

Are you your own worst critic? You are the first one to point out your faults, and a part of you continues to feel like you’re not doing enough. Do you put the needs of others before your own - feeling that sick-to-your-stomach guilt when saying “no”? Do you find yourself escaping in work, hobbies, and relationships to avoid sitting with your thoughts and feelings? If these feel familiar, I am with you, and I would love to be a support for you. Let’s quiet that inner critic that can be so very loud, and make space for a voice with a bit more kindness. Let's work together towards more self-trust, self-compassion and self-esteem. I take a very relational approach to therapy. I want our time to feel like an exhale - a space where you can show up as you are, share openly, & feel understood. I enjoy bringing my personality into the space with humor and shared interests. Clients who work with me share that I am warm, thoughtful and compassionate, while also creating a space for growth. If you are interested in working together, please reach out for a free consultation. Don't see your concern listed in my profile? Let's chat and explore whether we would be a good match in working together.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Denver, CO

My name is Blanca Martinez Walter and I am a licensed Latina holistic and spiritual therapist, living in Denver, Colorado. I am licensed in both the state of California and Colorado. The fancy title I have earned is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but I prefer the other title (spiritual therapist). I blend my experience working with Latinx in psychotherapy with my deep interest in spirituality and the mind, body, and soul connection. My therapeutic approach is holistic, incorporating intuition, signs that universe sends you, body awareness, inner child work, and a comprehensive understanding of your past and present experiences to understand how you came to be. In my practice I work with first generation latinas/latinos seeking change, wanting to get more attuned to their intuition, open to looking at past patterns and being challenged, all the while doing so with a therapist that has a cultural background similar to theirs. Common issues addressed in my practice include the effects of childhood parentification, perfectionism, self-care issues, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, and other issues unique to the first-generation experience. As your therapist, I will be your cheerleader and I will also be that person that challenges you and disagrees with you, because without discomfort there is no growth. I balance both humor, gentleness and disagreement in my therapeutic sessions. And yes, I speak Spanglish. I offer a free 15 min consultation to determine what your needs are going to be, what you are looking for in treatment and with that determine whether we would be a good match. I can offer a special rate for college students of $90 for 45 minutes. *If you are dealing with suicidal thoughts, it may be determined that telehealth is not the option.

My specialty is treating individuals with ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, mild depression, stress, decisions about college majors, transitions, medical diagnoses (e.g., cancer, diabetes, struggles with weight, infertility, pregnancy loss). I use an integrated approach, but mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My theoretical orientation is based on the Biopsychosocial model. A little bit about me: I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and I've been working in health care (mostly primary care) for about 9 years. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family & dogs and you'll typically find me hiking or somewhere outdoors.

I utilize evidenced based interventions from both acceptance and commitment therapy and trauma-informed care principles in my practice. I graduated in 2017 from the University of Denver with my Masters in Social Work and have been providing both inpatient and outpatient treatment since that time. My education and both, personal and professional experiences have allowed me to develop skills to work with diverse, often marginalized populations, such as members of the LGBTQIA+ population or those where English is not their first language. My specialities for work center around severe mental illnesses, such as: schizophrenia and other thought disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. Typically clients I work with have the above noted challenges, but have also experienced other stressors in their relationships, employment, and/or with addiction(s) of some kind.

Are you feeling overwhelmed with classes and social demands? Working through a relationship or family conflict? Hoping to build up confidence but not sure how? It’s understandable and normal that we might need help working through life’s challenges. It’s my goal to offer support and compassion as you navigate these challenges in hopes of creating a better and deeper understanding of yourself. I believe that through this understanding of yourself comes healing, growth, and an ability to identify and express your emotions. I want to help you find confidence, peace, and self-compassion. My specialties include college-aged women and post-college twenty-somethings entering the workforce. Women and young adults face unique experiences and I'm passionate about helping navigate them. Family systems therapy and attachment theory are the pillars of my work. I also use a trauma informed approach, person-centered therapy, and CBT. I approach my work with curiosity, humility, and humor (sometimes we just need to laugh a little). My goal is to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe and empowered to express your thoughts and feelings. Through a collaborative approach, I strive to create a compassionate and sincere therapeutic relationship.

I work best with students who look like they’re holding it together but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck on the inside. Many of the students I support are managing academic pressure, burnout, self-doubt, or the impact of past experiences while trying to keep up with school, work, and relationships. With nearly a decade of experience in mental health settings, I help students slow things down, make sense of what they’re feeling, and build tools that actually help in day-to-day life. Therapy with me is supportive, practical, and collaborative—a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started.

I might be making a blanket statement here, but here's what I have observed over the years. People between the ages of 18 and 25(ish) are so *aware* of their inner landscape and have a completely different view of mental health and the pursuit of what makes them feel safe, seen, connected and useful. If you're seeking therapy right now, it might feel like everything, from all directions is not to your advantage and what an overwhelming feeling that must be. Systemic problems are rampant and stacked against so many, but especially those of you who are just starting out on your own in this world. I see you. I empathize with you. I'd really love to know your story and work with you in whatever capacity you need. I have a particular specialty in addictions and trauma, however I have experience with many different kinds of needs as I've spent significant time in community mental health and schools. Shoot me a message and tell me what you're looking for. If I don't seem like a good fit, I'm happy to help you find a therapist who might be better. I do accept some insurances so if you're on those plans, let me know. Be well!

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive environment for folks to explore their gender and sexuality. Perhaps you identify as queer, bi, lesbian, gay, pan, ace, trans, nonbinary, agender, poly, kinky, something else, all of the above, or nothing at all. You deserve to have a space where you can learn more about your identity without judgment or pressure. As a queer person who has sought out therapy myself, I know how challenging it can be to find an affirming therapist. Even if your identity isn’t central to your therapy goals, I will always aim to honor and validate every part of who you are in our work. My therapeutic style is collaborative and anti-oppressive. My approach is integrative, using tools from a variety of therapeutic modalities—relational, CBT, narrative, sex therapy—that are best suited to each unique client. In addition to specializing in identity, I support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and relationship issues. My aim is to co-create a space with you that facilitates growth, emotional awareness, and authentic self-expression. Please reach out if you have any questions about my work or about therapy more generally. I'm glad that you're seeking out the care you need right now, and I hope that we have the opportunity to connect more soon.

As a relationship, gender, and sexuality therapist, I'm here to help you to create more intimacy and connection in your relationships, explore your identities, and recalibrate toward a more authentic and compassionate life. I am particularly passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ folks in exploring and healing from internalized homophobia and transphobia as they often manifest in anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Drawing primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), modern psychodynamic theory, and intersectional queer theory, I provide a validating and non-judgmental space for people to heal from past experiences and find deeper connection with themself and others. If you feel motivated to look at hard truths, ready to question what you’ve been taught you “should” be, and are even willing to sit in moments of discomfort and uncertainty along the way, we might be a great fit for working together. Regarding fees: I hold a limited number of reduced rate spots (starting at $100 per session) for folks who are unable to afford the full fee due to a range of factors such as low-paying employment and otherwise limited access to a financial safety net. Please reach out if you'd like to discuss more.

I believe in a therapeutic process that is collaborative and flexible — meeting my clients where they are to foster meaningful growth and change. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and honest reflection to create a non-judgmental space for self-exploration. I am passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing emotional struggles, low self-esteem, transitional issues, and attachment injuries. My aim is to collaboratively help you understand patterns in which you feel stuck, find relief from narratives that are no longer yours, and learn how to move towards your goals. I am a graduate of Columbia’s School of Social Work and have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I am intensively trained in working with body image issues and disordered eating. My style is warm, genuine, and non-judgmental while providing transparent feedback throughout the therapeutic process to maximize emotional growth and healing. I work as a supportive and collaborative partner with each of my clients to find and achieve long-term solutions.
