I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020. I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´ Brown sums it up best: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
Analytical? Confused by others' emotions or responses? Nerdy? Scientific? Intrigued by pop culture? Let me help you find the space to explore your existing thoughts, to deepen your connection to those around you or achieve the goals that have been at arms length. Whether we are talking about severe mental health obstacles, healing traumatic wounds or wanting to fulfill goals, I will guide you through the pathways to healing. I will support you in tapping into your existing power and insight to engage the most fulfilling and meaningful life that you deserve. I am an EMDR therapist who uses an existential and humanistic approach to cultivate healing and growth in my clients lives. I am easy to talk to, nerdy, compassionate and honest. I treat a wide range of individual and relational issues. I enjoy supporting people who love a person who is mentally/physically ill or struggling with substance use. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all and I meet people where they are at. I believe you already have all the power for change within but struggle to access it as needed. If what I have written resonates, reach out and let me help you find the happiness, success, joy, and healing you’re looking for.

Finding ourselves stuck in problems that we can't seem to figure out isn't uncommon and asking for help isn't easy, but it is a brave first step. My hope is that once I have the opportunity to get to know you and your unique experiences, I can help you to develop the skills to manage life's challenges in a way that you can be proud of. I have worked with children, families and adults and tailor my practice to the individuals I serve. I strive to create a space that is safe, non-judgemental and considers the complexity of your life. My past work has been with individuals of all ages who have experienced complex trauma and the resulting depression, anxiety, anger, fear, shame and grief. I strive to create a safe and anti-oppressive practice that respects, validates and affirms individual racial, ethnic, religious, spiritual, gender and sexual identities. I believe that people are meant to live in relationship, but that often we get stuck in negative cycles of relating to ourselves, others and the world that keep us from growth and joy. In my own life, I have worked and continue to work to break down these things for myself, and I am honored to join others in their work to do the same. :)

My approach draws from evidence based modalities including EMDR, CBT, and DBT. My unique skillset positions me to help you find your happiest and healthiest self that already exists within. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with weight loss and weight management. I provide an alternative strategy to weight loss based on cognitive therapy that allows people to change their life and their relationship with food, instead of just dieting. As a licensed personal training, I am also able to provide customized workout programs for clients to coincide with their weight management program. No more dieting! I also am a Certified Insomnia Treatment Clinician and offer 6-week online group treatment programs for insomnia! In addition, I specialize in working with individuals with self-esteem and anxiety issues as well as numerous other concerns, including body image, relationship issues, and parenting. You wish you could feel happy and just have fun in college. But the pressure is on. The social pressure is there. Do you go out with friends or stay in and study? That's where I come in. I am here to help you move past the anxiety and depression and step into a fun college experience. I will help you discover who you are at your core. Then you will have more confidence to step into the adulting world. I would be honored to be part of your journey to having fun now and gaining confidence to be who you truly are. I love working with college students. You are at an exciting pivot point in your life. Adjusting to college is both exciting and daunting. You may be dealing with social, cultural and academic stress as you adjust to a new environment. You may begin to look at your childhood and teen years from a new perspective. You may be thinking about the life you want to design for yourself moving forward, and the impact you want to make in the world. I have worked with student athletes and others juggling the demands of college life. In Colorado Springs, I work with students from Colorado College, UCCS, and Pikes Peak State College. I am happy to work with students from UC Boulder and Colorado School of Mines via Telehealth. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and thrive, and sort out what's distressing or confusing you, including academic stress, romantic relationships, family relationships, friendships, and your relationship with yourself. I offer ways to understand and manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity issues. I am client-centered and take a holistic biopsychosocial approach. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and I use evidence-based practices and the latest scientific research to help you achieve relief, clarity, and joy.
We often feel trapped by our circumstances, voiceless in our relationships and powerless to cause significant change in our lives. But whether you are seeking individual, couples, or group therapy, you have taken a leap into the process of healing. With curiosity and a fresh perspective, I aim to empower you to reclaim your voice, work towards the change you seek, and to meet your authentic self. Though you have already taken the first step, I hope to foster the healing process even further by providing a deeply caring, non-judgmental atmosphere. It has been important for me to work with a wide breadth of clients. I have experience with diverse age groups, races, gender identities, and sexual orientations, and have worked in community mental health, residential treatment, school settings, and private practice. If you are are seeking a space to explore feelings connected to lack of motivation, avoidance, anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty in platonic and romantic relationships, and feeling burnout from your current way of moving through the world, know that there is hope of having a different experience of yourself, your relationships and the world around you. Within working with a wide breath of clients, I have a passion for men’s mental health and working with young men and the issues that come up in their lives today. Through it all, however, my approach has always been focused on the human in front of me, and in meeting them where they are. I work with my individuals, couples and groups to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and your relationships. With a psychodynamic lens and a belief that as a species we all have the need to connect, I look forward to hearing from you to see how we may feel about working together.

From the second we hit adolescence, we are in a near state of constant transition. That doesn't stop when we hit what society considers to be "adulthood." When we hit college, the world expects us to magically become fully functioning adults. But we are dealing with one of the biggest transitions yet, and mostly on our own. We might be experiencing things such as transitioning from living at home, to living on our own. Relying on family for financial support to having to support ourselves. Having a secure and safe social circle to having to start again finding our "people." Balancing classes, work, social obligations, and self-care. Deciding if we want to carry forward the identity we held onto in adolescence into adulthood, or reinvent ourselves. Living in the moment and enjoying our experience while constantly planning our futures and making plans for when we REALLY hit adulthood. And doing all of this completely untethered from the safety and security we once knew. College is a lot. Period. It's normal to struggle through some of this, and to need some extra support in managing it all. I speak from experience. I faced a lot of challenges in college that tested my mental health. A close family member passed away two months into my freshman year, and navigating my grief amidst my difficult college classes challenged my focus and caused my grades to slip. I had what I lovingly call a "mental breakdown" returning from spring break my sophmore year of college, when I literally couldn't stop crying for a week straight for no apparent reason. Did I reach out for professional support, you may wonder? You bet I did! I met with a counselor at my college who helped me understand that I was feeling very isolated and helped me figure out some steps I could take to feel less alone. In the end, I found my "people," who are still my best friends nearly 20 years later, and had an amazing college experience. I am so glad I reached out for support, and persevered through that challenge. I specialize in supporting anxiety, depression, difficult transitions, navigating family and social conflict, and simply finding your place in this world. Sometimes we know we need therapy, but we're not really sure what for, and I am happy to lend an ear to what you are experiencing, and help you find your way, regardless of any labels. It takes strength to reach out for help, especially during a period of life you are expected to be grown up and independent. But there is no point in life during which you should ever feel ashamed to seek help. College can be an amazing and formative time, and managing your emotional and mental health can help you access all of the beautiful experiences available to you. Please don't hesitate to reach out for any reason at all. I'm looking forward to working with you!
Life is challenging and confusing, especially during a time like right now. Given the pandemic, many of us are attempting to find normalcy in an extremely abnormal situation. Everyday life has become even more stressful, it's harder to be in relationship, and finding moments of "okay" might be few and far between. Having your own space to talk about your experiences, whether dealing with the present situation or managing old wounds, is not only important but beneficial for maintaining our mental health. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults on a variety of issues. Primarily, I help clients by bringing attention to the storylines we have created (and will continue to create) about ourselves that cause pain, distress, and disconnection. These stories might look like: I am not [fill in the blank] enough; I should be happier/more successful/less afraid; I am unworthy of love; I can't manage life on life's terms; I’m an outsider. Uncovering these storylines and reframing them is the beginning to living a different life, one that feels, well frankly, better.
Dr. Rademan starts treatment with a thorough and detailed inventory of life experiences that could be contributing to current concerns. She also explores body pain and chronic health concerns as those can be impacted by trauma and emotional wounding. Just like with physical health, mental health can be impacted by earlier 'injuries' that flare up later in life. Many people have been in and out of therapy throughout their life and haven't found sustained relief due to not healing the root issue or concern. At the foundation of treatment, Dr. Rademan utilizes a trauma and cognitive focused framework. Trauma is not only major violence or death, but can also be a loss of a relationship, not getting your needs met when you were a child, or ongoing major stressors. Trauma can be described as anything that significantly changed the way you view yourself or the world.
Our 20s is a special time AND it's kind of confusing. We're figuring out who we are and how we fit into this world. No small task. You're feeling frustrated with your relationships and you're not sure how to do things differently. You were never shown how. Where do you fit in this world? Who do you want to be? You're figuring out your passions and how to make that into a sustainable career. I can help you gain clarity and support you as we explore what works and what doesn't. Gently and at a pace that feels good for you. We can clarify your relationship values, understand what healthy boundaries look like in your life, and learn to communicate your needs effectively. I offer both teletherapy and in-person Equine sessions. Working with horses gives us a unique way to connect and learn about ourselves.
