I prioritize striking a balance between thoughtfulness and intentionality, while allowing space for ease and flow. I specialize in working with young adults and adults who are interested in exploring identity development, interpersonal relationship issues, and life transitions. You might be struggling in the most important relationships in your life, or trying to find a way out of feeling stagnant. Perhaps you have felt a pull to understand yourself more deeply. Through creating a safe and strong connection, we can be curious about these things together. In my graduate and post-graduate experience, I have primarily worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma across a variety of settings. While I am mainly relationally focused, I have experience with psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, and behavioral approaches. By leaning towards authenticity, humor, and connection, I believe we can gain insight and create shifts in how we approach our life and our relationships. Therapy is a collaborative and creative relationship that can provide the opportunity to navigate this together.
Are you queer and struggling with body image and food? Or just feeling disconnected from your body? Are you looking for a therapist who gets it—who’s been there? I am an eating disorder therapist who is also queer. Believe it to not, the LGBTQ community is hit hardest when it comes to struggling with our relationship with our bodies. Many of us have had eating disorders, and even more of us struggle significantly with body image. As a trained somatic therapist, I hope to support you to have a better relationship with your body, and to understand the language it speaks—including how trauma may have manifested in your nervous system.
Life sometimes places us in situations that we feel we may not be able to handle alone. As your therapist it would be my honor to join you in navigating the challenges you face. I see each client as a whole person rather than as a collection of symptoms and work with you to understand how you got to where you are and how to get to where you’d like to be. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ related issues, Anxiety, OCD, GAD, Agoraphobia, Panic Disorder, ADHD, ASD, and Depression. I am also currently accepting clients in search of Pre-Surgical Evaluation for Gender Affirming Surgery (GAS) Regardless of your presenting concern, I approach therapy as a collaboration that allows us each to share our expertise; mine in psychological theory and your expertise in yourself and your unique needs. This philosophy shapes our therapy space as we determine what type of environment works best for you, whether that be more structured or free-flowing. Sessions may range from activities that target specific behaviors to more broad discussions about your overall life and sense of self to help us better understand your experience. It is my firmest belief that everyone is capable of change. My role is to help you explore what that looks like for you and to help you to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

My name is Jorge Flores (he/him/él) and I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in Colorado. I provide individual counseling virtually to adults aged 18 to 65 in English and Spanish. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for adults to explore challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, religious trauma, LGBT+ issues, and immigration-related stress. Using a combination of mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help clients navigate personal struggles, build emotional resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies for managing stress, relationships, career pressures, and emotional well-being.
A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.
