Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
We are a small private practice located in Fort Collins, CO who treat individuals struggling with depression and/or anxiety. These conditions include a variety of symptoms including feelings of sadness, loss of motivation, low energy, isolation, feeling worthless, disruption to appetite or sleep, racing thoughts, over-thinking, worry, nervousness, and panic attacks. Due to these symptoms, the ability to function normally is impacted, and many of our clients are having difficulty in school and in their relationships. We use an evidence- based treatment called Cognitive Behavior Therapy to address symptoms and help our clients feel better. We work well with individuals who are motivated to make changes and implement the tactics they learn in between sessions. Please visit our website for more information: evolvecounselingnoco.com
Welcome, I'm glad you're here and walking your healing pathway. Therapy can be scary with fears of being judged over your thoughts and feelings. Those thoughts and feelings helped get you here but they may not be serving you anymore and you are seeking change. I have been helping people for 18 years by providing insight based therapy and I love when the healing starts to make changes in people's lives. I look forward to helping the healing process. I offer a judgement free environment (don't we do enough to ourselves already) where you can explore new ideas, thoughts and feelings along your journey.
As an insight-oriented therapist I operate from the belief that the more we understand about where we have been, the more control we have in where we are going. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, encouraging my clients to bring in what feels most important to them each week. When working with clients, my first priority is establishing a secure, authentic relationship that meets the needs of each individual. We work together to identify patterns of how you relate to yourself and others. We explore where they came from and the purpose they serve in your life. This allows you to identify what you want to change, and together we work to create a life that aligns with who you are.
“With adversity comes opportunity” from the I Ching- Or Book of Changes The decision to seek therapy can be due to times of stress or the desire to seek change. We know that change is not always a straight path. To take a “road less traveled” can be filled with a beautiful river that flows and leads to clarity or it be a be a river filled with large boulders that need to be traversed with help and support. Therapy can be a tool that facilitates resilience and transformation. My approach in therapy is to first engage in a process of discovery. As your therapist, we will work together to discover what events, situations, and relationships in your life or your past do not work for you now. It is really important to understand how your life works in order to set goals and create change. Most importantly, it is important to remember that change affects all the people in your life. Hi, I'm Dr. Sarah Hewes, founder of Evergreen Teletherapy, LLC. I am licensed (LPC) in both Colorado and Connecticut. I decided to resume my private practice in hopes of being more accessible to clients using a virtual platform. I know we are busy and maybe want to save time by just logging on and having a session:) I hear you! I have 17+ years of clinical experience working with people who have struggled with eating disorders, body image, as well as anxiety, depression, relationship issues and life transitions (i.e., early adulthood, college, job changes, loss of athletic identity, changes in family dynamics). My clients have told me they like my warm yet direct approach. I look forward to meeting you and helping support you in your journey!
Hi! I'm Amber and I'm excited to be able to help students with a various range of concerns. I taper my therapeutic interventions for each client because I believe that each client is unique and will respond differently with different interventions. I partner with all of my clients to find the best fit and what feels most authentic and genuine to them in session. You're in the driver's seat!
As a relationship, gender, and sexuality therapist, I'm here to help you to create more intimacy and connection in your relationships, explore your identities, and recalibrate toward a more authentic and compassionate life. I am particularly passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ folks in exploring and healing from internalized homophobia and transphobia as they often manifest in anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Drawing primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), modern psychodynamic theory, and intersectional queer theory, I provide a validating and non-judgmental space for people to heal from past experiences and find deeper connection with themself and others. If you feel motivated to look at hard truths, ready to question what you’ve been taught you “should” be, and are even willing to sit in moments of discomfort and uncertainty along the way, we might be a great fit for working together. Regarding fees: I hold a limited number of reduced rate spots (starting at $100 per session) for folks who are unable to afford the full fee due to a range of factors such as low-paying employment and otherwise limited access to a financial safety net. Please reach out if you'd like to discuss more.
Hi there—I’m Odira, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience guiding students and young adults through life’s twists and turns. I understand how hard it can be to fit therapy into a busy schedule, so I offer sessions only in the evenings and on weekends, whether we meet in person in Abilene, TX, or connect virtually across Texas and Colorado. Many students wrestle with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and relationship ups and downs. That’s why I blend person-centered, holistic, and eclectic approaches to create a space that’s uniquely yours. You know your story best—I’m here to listen, offer fresh perspectives, and partner with you to build practical tools for navigating transitions, strengthening connections, and fostering growth. Over the years, I’ve led behavioral health teams and delivered therapy in community and clinical settings—experience that’s deepened my understanding of the pressures you face on campus and beyond. My passion is creating a warm, collaborative environment where you can explore your strengths, cultivate resilience, and gain clarity. Ready to get started during those after-work or weekend hours?
