When you’re the type of person who “shows up” for everyone else, it can be hard to admit you’re burned out. Helping is how you’ve learned to cope, connect and stay safe. I treat depression, anxiety, and burnout for people (15 years and older) who are too busy pleasing others to help themselves. My clients often find themselves having sudden health issues or lack of concentration and get into an identity crisis! "Who am I if I can't pull off miracles every day?!?" I offer a combination of psychotherapy and art therapy, which works well for people who don’t know where to start. I also integrate financial therapy into sessions because money issues are often unspoken roadblocks to personal growth. Art therapy is for all ages, and I primarily work with teens and adults. If a little part of you did a cartwheel when you read “art therapy”, it just might be a good fit for you. If another little part of you also got scared and nervous, that’s completely normal. You won't be judged about talent or skill, it's really about the process, not the product. Many clients have big new insights into their lives by working with images. When you've been running on empty, it's time to fill your tank. I'm a recovered pleaser too!

Licensed Professional Counselor
Denver, CO

Hi there! I’m Alex Boyce, a Licensed Professional Counselor—and I’m a firm believer that therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly serious. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from CU Denver in 2015, and I specialize in helping college students and young adults work through the challenges that come with this stage of life—things like anxiety (including that relentless “what if” spiral), stress, perfectionism, OCD, trauma, burnout, emotional ups and downs, and feeling lost or stuck. If your brain ever feels like it’s constantly running in the background or your emotions are all over the place, you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place. I’m trained in EMDR Therapy for trauma, as well as Exposure and Response Prevention and Inference-Based CBT for OCD and anxiety. Those terms might sound complicated, but I’ll break them down into real, understandable steps that actually help you make sense of what’s going on. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and grounded in trust—with plenty of psychoeducation so you can understand why your mind reacts the way it does. Our first sessions are about connection and understanding what’s really going on beneath the surface. Together, we’ll make a plan that fits your goals—without judgment or pressure. What makes my practice a little different? I mix evidence-based therapy with genuine humor, empathy, and real talk. I’ve spent over a decade helping people move from survival mode to self-acceptance and confidence, and I’ll be there with you through it all—whether that means sitting in the hard stuff, celebrating wins, or laughing about the weird tricks anxiety plays on us. Outside of work, I recharge by doing yoga, hiking Colorado’s trails, paddleboarding, and catching live music when I can. If you’re ready to start feeling more like yourself—or figure out who that is—I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

I am a religious trauma therapist in Denver. Recovering from conservative religion can leave you questioning who you are, what you believe, and how to trust yourself. Maybe you're stuck in perfectionism, constantly thinking, “I’m not good enough,” leading you to isolate from others or hold yourself back from your goals. Maybe you have trouble making decisions because you believe you can't trust your instincts. You might not remember a time when things felt different. But you’re ready for relief: a kinder inner voice, more joy, and a deeper connection to your authentic self. You’re ready to feel confident, not because you’re perfect, but because you’re finally free to be you. As an experienced self-worth, anxiety, and trauma therapist, I believe you can untangle the messages from your past that are holding you back. You don’t have to keep making yourself small and you don’t have to do the work alone. Visit my website to schedule a free 15-minute consultation so we can discuss how I can help.

Zephyr Behavioral Health and Wellness

Englewood, CO

At Zephyr Behavioral Health and Wellness, we work best with students who feel like they’ve been pushing through life on hard mode. You might be overwhelmed, burned out, or constantly second-guessing yourself. Maybe school feels harder than it should, relationships feel confusing, or you’re exhausted from trying to keep up with expectations that don’t quite fit who you are. Many of the students we support are neurodivergent (including ADHD, autism, or sensory differences), navigating anxiety or depression, or carrying the weight of chronic stress or past experiences. Some come to us feeling stuck or misunderstood. Others are high-achieving but quietly struggling beneath the surface. You don’t need to have everything figured out to get started. Our team focuses on creating a space that is affirming, collaborative, and practical. Where you can show up as you are and build tools that actually work for your brain, your goals, and your life. If you’re looking for support that feels respectful, personalized, and aligned with who you are, Zephyr may be a good fit for you.

You might feel torn between what you want and what everyone else expects from you. You try to make the right choices, keep the peace, and be there for everyone, yet you are left feeling anxious, guilty, and unsure of your own needs. I work with women who feel stuck in relationships, career decisions, and life transitions, and who want to understand themselves more clearly and set healthier boundaries. My work is grounded in CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and Trauma Informed care. I pay close attention to the mind-body connection because it often reveals what words cannot. Our goal is to help you feel more like yourself, more confident in your decisions, and more connected to what you truly want. I show up with honesty, compassion, and a little humor. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. I believe in a collaborative healing approach. Together, we identify areas of concern and develop strategies for change. I also believe in exploring the underlying causes of our struggles. My approach is varied, taking and blending techniques from a variety of sources, rather than relying on a single system of intervention. I strive to create a safe environment for my clients to explore their world in an authentic way. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Colorado. Individual Therapy - Recognizing the need for change can be exciting. The path forward is sometimes unclear, and at times, overwhelming. Together, we will develop a plan for the change you desire. Over time, this change can become long-lasting, and transformative. Couples Counseling - We all bring our personal history and experience to relationship. I believe that sharing this story with your partner in different ways can reveal a deeper level of understanding and intimacy. A new way of relating announces itself; revealing entirely new possibilities in your relationship.

A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.
