My pronouns are she/her/hers. I offer both individual therapy and psychological assessment. Assessment can be used to evaluate for concerns like ADHD or autism, screen for learning challenges, track changes in neurological functioning, and more. For assessment, I see clients 5 years and older. For individual therapy, I see clients age 14 and older. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and coping with life changes. I also used to work at universities and know the unique experiences and challenges college students face. For any therapist you work with, one of the most important pieces is connection. I may not be the right therapist for everyone and that is perfectly ok. Find who you mesh with and who works for you, and you will give yourself the best chance of success! I believe that therapy is only part of your journey. When we meet, I want to know not only what is upsetting you but also what your goals and hopes are for the future. My goal is to stand with you as you gain the power to reclaim the parts of your life you want to improve. If you feel a connection with me, therapy can be a place to learn more about yourself, challenge worries, process past and current strife, and more. I can be a witness, guide, support, and collaborator. We will work together to get you through this.

I enjoy working with students who find themselves looking for help with anxiety, OCD, stress, and feelings of burnout. A lot of my clients identify with being high-achieving and introverted. From my own experience in college and working with college students for the last 10 years, I know school can be both fun and exciting, but also overwhelming and stressful. Please don't hesitate to reach out (via phone or email) to see if you'd like to work with me - I always start with a free 20 minute consultation call to get to know potential clients.

Wherever you have been, however you have arrived, I’m glad you are here. To me, therapy is about taking time and space to listen to our bodies and emotions, with the hope of allowing us to reconnect with our inherent wisdom. We don't lose touch with this wisdom by accident. Trauma, unhealed wounds, and oppression separate us from our wisdom and intuition, and impact our ability to access all parts of ourselves. You and your body carry so much, from the grief and resilience of those who came before you, to the stress of everyday life. You were never meant to carry it all on your own. I approach therapy from a relational and attachment-based framework, with strong influences from intersectional feminism, trauma-informed care and somatic practices. I also believe that our individual health can't be disentangled from our collective wellbeing and therapy is only one of many paths towards healing.

My practice specializes in providing clinical counseling and consulting services for diverse populations from a systemic lens. I provide individual and family counseling, evaluations for ADHD & autism, forensic family law evaluations, as well as clinical supervision for Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy interns seeking licensure in Florida. I focus my clinical work on helping adolescents and teens under stress and adults who have lived through difficult times as children. This means that many of my clients identify as Gen-Z, millennials, and high-achieving professionals who have experienced trauma in their families of origin and desire to seek and engage in healthier relationships with themselves and with others. In the last few years as my practice has become more specialized, a common denominator is that many of my clients are exploring their brain style and its accompanying traits. Consequently, my ideal client is someone exploring how their ADHD, giftedness, and/or autism are impacting their school & work performance, their mental & physical health, and their relationships. Neurodiversity affirming therapy is a client-centered approach that recognizes the diversity of human experience and promotes acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals with neurological differences. As a result, my therapeutic approach is strengths-based, supportive, goal-oriented, and trauma-informed. As a systemic therapist, that means addressing diversity, gender, power, and other sociocultural dimensions is an inherent part of the work we will do together. My own lived experience combined with over a decade of working with neurodivergent individuals and their families allows me to bring unique perspective and empathy to the therapeutic space. You might like my style if you are craving- or even open to – exploration of your inner child, befriending your body, gaining emotional intelligence, and navigating healthier relationships.

I believe that mental health is a journey of piecing together multiple working parts, and I hope to be a part of that process with you. About Me I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the states of Georgia and Maryland. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, families, and young adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice). I also currently hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Social Work. I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a positive, safe, and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my pets, finding challenging hikes, cooking/baking, going to the beach/finding water, gardening, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy picking up new creative projects and DIYs! Who I Help & What I Help With Who I Can Help 1. Children (6-12) 2. Teens (13-17) 3. Emerging & Young Adults (18-29) 4. Adult Couples What I Can Help With 1. Relationship issues or losing a relationship 2. Adjusting to and navigating life transitions 3. Improving unhealthy/disruptive habits and behaviors 4. Feeling sad or depressed 5. Trauma and loss 6. Feeling overwhelmed or anxious 7. Feeling alone or disconnected from others 8. Experiencing stress at work, school, or home 9. Conflict resolution and problem-solving 10. Learning to value and love yourself My Approach Types of Therapies It’s not uncommon for someone to enter therapy a bit nervous and with no clear sense of where to start – they simply want things to change for the better and to feel like themselves again. You are the expert of your own experience, but it’s easy to lose your way and feel lost when in distress. I will meet you wherever you are and help you piece things back to a sense of what normal feels like for you. The best approach is one that works for you, so I may draw on several different approaches to therapy, all of which have been shown by research to help individuals reduce stress, gain clarity, and make changes in their lives. They include but are not limited to: 1. Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) 2. Psychodynamic Therapy 3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) 4. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) 5. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) 6. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) 7. Person-Centered Therapy 8. Narrative Therapy 9. Culturally Sensitive Therapy Services & Payment Things to Know First 1. At this time, all sessions will be remote/virtual and take place through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. 2. You may choose the mode with which you are most comfortable (i.e., video, phone). 3. Virtual sessions are a great option for accessibility and flexibility, but please be sure to first, consider whether this is the most appropriate option for you at this time. How to Get Started Ready to get started? For scheduling of any kind (free consult, intake, regular sessions, etc.), just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. You can schedule your first appointment on your own and whenever you’re ready with no initial contact required. Please note that I am committed to your privacy. Therefore, please do not include confidential or private information if you choose to email or call. Further and more detailed information will be exchanged through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. I look forward to speaking with you! Visits with me typically involve the following types of sessions: Intake Session: Assessment & Planning (60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $200) It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist, and while you have the option of beginning with a phone consultation or intake session, the first few sessions serve to help you and me decide whether the therapeutic relationship will be the best fit. The intake also serves as an Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. This phase also allows me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions if you are comfortable with moving forward. All follow up sessions after the initial intake session will be considered a regular therapy session. Regular Individual Therapy Session (30-60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $90-$180) Following the Assessment and Planning phase, we’ll decide when and how often to meet. Session time frames depend on your treatment needs and personal circumstances and are guided by the plan we develop together. Please note that 30-minute sessions are private pay only. These sessions may work well for children and adolescents, day-to-day check-ins, more solution-focused sessions, quicker access to therapy, etc. Regular Family Therapy Session With Client (30 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $108, Private Pay Only) When needed, family sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen communication, address relational dynamics, and support your child or adolescent’s progress in treatment. These sessions may include parents/guardians, caregivers, and/or siblings depending on the goals we establish together. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Brief Family Therapy Session Without Client (15 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $54, Private Pay Only) These brief check-ins offer a dedicated space for parents and caregivers to share observations, ask questions, and stay connected to their child’s therapeutic progress without the client present. They are not a replacement for regular family sessions but rather, serve as a lightweight touchpoint between sessions when needed. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Couples Therapy Session (60 minutes; $216, Private Pay Only) Couples therapy sessions provide a structured space to address relational concerns, improve communication, and work toward shared goals within the relationship. These sessions are designed to support both partners in understanding relational patterns, navigating conflict more effectively, and building a stronger foundation for daily functioning together. Please note that all couples therapy sessions of any length are private pay only. Payment Options In-Network Insurance & Third-Party Payers I currently accept the following insurance plans in Georgia: 1. Aetna 2. Cigna/Evernorth 3. United Healthcare/UBH/Optum 4. Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans I currently accept the following insurance plans in Maryland: 1. Aetna 2. Cigna/Evernorth 3. United Healthcare/UBH/Optum 4. Medicaid/Carelon Behavioral Health 5. Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans This means that if you are enrolled in any of these plans (or potentially any of their subsidiaries), your out-of-pocket expense is limited to your deductible and copay/coinsurance. While I can assist in determining what these costs will be, it may be helpful to ask your insurance provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 2. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *I am currently working to become a provider in network with Anthem as well as any applicable subsidiaries under Anthem in the state of Georgia. I am also currently working to become a provider in network with CareFirst as well as any applicable subsidiaries under CareFirst in the state of Maryland. Private Pay & Out-of-Network Reimbursement I also accept private pay, and if you have another insurance provider, you may also have out-of-network benefits. With this option, your insurance benefits may reimburse the majority of the cost of therapy. With both private pay and out-of-network reimbursement, you will be provided with automatic invoices, statements, and superbills for any needed reimbursements later from your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider to learn more about how reimbursement works. It may be helpful to ask your provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? 2. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 3. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *Lack of insurance coverage, privacy concerns, flexibility, and quicker access to care are only a few of the reasons why one might choose this option. Cancellation Policy All clients are required to have an active credit/debit card on file at the time of scheduling an appointment. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or inactive insurance, you will be charged in full regardless of reason. This is necessary, as a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. You may still apply this fee to future appointments. Contact Me Ready to get started? For scheduling of any kind (free consult, intake, regular sessions, etc.), just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. Living with OCD or anxiety can be exhausting. The constant doubt, intrusive thoughts, avoidance and compulsions can make everyday life feel overwhelming— like it's running your life instead of you. I specialize in helping adults break free from OCD, perfectionism, and anxiety disorders. I understand how isolating these struggles can feel, and I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can feel understood while learning practical tools to understand anxiety and move toward what truly matters to you. If you're struggling with OCD, we’ll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. Together we'll build a concrete treatment plan, and with steady support, you’ll gradually face fears, and reduce compulsions, building confidence and learning that you can handle uncertainty without relying on rituals. To address anxiety and perfectionism, I integrate CBT and ACT techniques, so you can develop a healthier mindset and respond to difficult thoughts with more flexibility and self-compassion. Therapy is active and goal-oriented, but always grounded in warmth and respect. I’d love to support you in this process.

I believe every one of us is a good person at heart, we are all trying our best and laziness is a myth. You may have a hard time believing that about yourself. You may have been taught (by families or systems) that you are bad, lazy or selfish. You are scared to make decisions or trust your intuition. You want to love yourself the way you love others! I offer a radically different perspective. I think it is possible to love yourself a little bit at a time, take things less personally and create more space in your life for peace.

Do you want to be listened to without criticism, judgment, or feelings of rejection? Most people do! But do you desire something more? When most people enter therapy, what they often truly desire is change. I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are seeking while enjoying the process as much as possible. Simply said, I don’t believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. Calling a therapist can be intimidating, but I hope you will take a moment (and maybe even a deep breath) to reach out and see how I can help. Life is too short to feel like you can’t measure up, let trauma control your relationships, or be anxious/angry all the time. I want you to be free of emotional pain, able to deal with life on life’s terms, and to find meaning & purpose in work, family, friendships, spirituality, and all other life areas. Since 2009, teenagers & adults have worked with me to deal with issues that are no joke. Beyond doing talk therapy, I have specialized training in EMDR & Brainspotting, which specializes in treating issues related to trauma, PTSD, anxiety, loss and insecurities often more quickly than traditional talk-therapies. Online Telehealth/Video sessions available.

Are you a female college student feeling dissatisfied with your life and open to exploring the ways in which your thoughts and feelings drive behavior? Do you wish you had the skills to increase mindfulness and better stress tolerance or emotional regulation? Are you experiencing a major life transition—such as college or entry to adulthood or a change in relationship or career status or health—and need help making meaning of your experience or changing internalized narratives that aren’t working for you? I am a trained therapist and educator who takes a holistic approach to your health and how the mind, body, and spirit influence your overall wellness. With my help, we will challenge negative thoughts to identify distortions and triggers, establish boundaries, and avoid reactive behavior patterns to promote personal development. By teasing apart the accepted narratives, you will gain a better understanding of how this affects your behaviors, moods, and emotions and will empower you to change the way you think and operate in the world.

Life can feel heavy when past experiences, expectations, or constant pressures make it difficult to find joy in the present. Many clients begin therapy because they are feeling anxious, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or uncertain how to navigate big changes. I strive to create a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and start to untangle the weight you carry without judgment or pressure to have it all figured out. Together, we can work toward healing and reconnecting with the parts of your life that feel most meaningful. I hold a Doctorate in Professional Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals and families across diverse mental health settings, including adult corrections, juvenile justice, residential treatment, outpatient clinics, schools, and private practice. My work is trauma-informed and draws from evidence-based interventions, but sessions always center on you as a person, not a diagnosis. You do not need to have the right words or a clear plan to get started. If you are curious about therapy or wondering whether this could be a good fit, I invite you to reach out and take the first step.
