As a psychologist with a passion for supporting young adults, I’ve had the privilege of working in college mental health settings at institutions like MIT, Tufts, and Boston College. My experience spans all ages, allowing me to connect with people at different life stages. I specialize in LGBTQ psychology and have a strong foundation in women’s and gender issues. I thrive on exploring cultural identities and helping individuals navigate their journeys, whether it’s related to gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, or the challenges of emerging adulthood. I’m also highly skilled in treating anxiety and depression, and I have specialized training in postpartum mental health. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, viewed through a multicultural lens. I focus on understanding how your unique life experiences and intersecting identities shape your perspective. Together, we’ll create a collaborative relationship that fosters empowerment, builds skills, and promotes lasting change. As a first-generation, bilingual Armenian American woman, I deeply understand how cultural identities influence mental health and experiences of marginalization. I believe this insight is a powerful asset in our work together. Therapy can be a transformative journey, and I’m here to support your growth and healing every step of the way. <script src="https://thrivingcampus.com/verified.js?pid=26568"></script>

Here for you! Are you struggling with school/work, feeling anxious and/or depressed and not sure how to manage these feelings? Do you feel like you aren't measuring up to those around you? Do you constantly worry about what life will hand you next? Or feel like you can't get out of bed and be a successful member of society? Need support dealing with life's challenges or someone to help you set goals and objectives? Life can be challenging and it can be helpful to have someone alongside you instead of facing challenges alone. No two people are the same and therefore therapy should not be either. Therapy doesn’t have to feel like a chore! For over 10 yrs, I have worked with teens, college students and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression and stress management. I have been told that I am relatable and easy to talk with and always impartial. We will work together to explore skills and coping strategies in a positive and supportive environment to help you feel like your best self. Services are private pay and I also offer a super bill for you to submit to your insurance company for Out of Network reimbursement. You owe it to yourself to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if I can be the right fit to help support you along your journey. I look forward to hearing from you! PHP program Our PHP program is designed for individuals who require a structured and supportive environment while they work towards their recovery goals. This program provides a higher level of care than traditional outpatient treatment, offering a full day of therapy and support. Our experienced team of addiction specialists and mental health professionals will work closely with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs and challenges. Through a combination of evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and holistic approaches, we aim to empower individuals to overcome addiction and build a solid foundation for lasting recovery. IOP program Our IOP program is ideal for individuals who have completed a higher level of care, such as PHP or inpatient treatment and are ready to transition to a less intensive level of support. This program offers a flexible schedule that accommodates work, school, and other responsibilities, while still providing the necessary structure and guidance for continued recovery. Clients in our IOP program will participate in individual therapy sessions, group therapy, relapse prevention education, and other therapeutic activities that promote healing and growth. At The Recovery Team Newton We understand that addiction is a complex and multifaceted disease that affects individuals physically, mentally, and emotionally. That is why our treatment approach is holistic, addressing all aspects of an individual’s well-being. We believe in treating the whole person, not just the addiction. Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to providing compassionate care and support, helping clients heal and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. Our facility is designed to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where clients can feel comfortable and supported throughout their recovery journey. We provide a range of amenities and services to enhance the treatment experience, including comfortable living spaces, nutritious meals, recreational activities, and access to outdoor spaces. We understand that recovery is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to providing our clients with the tools and resources they need to maintain sobriety beyond their time in our programs. Our aftercare services include relapse prevention planning, alumni support groups, individual counseling, and referrals to community resources. We strive to empower our clients to build a strong support network and continue their recovery efforts long after they have completed our programs.

It can feel overwhelming to be proactive about making positive changes in our lives. Everyone has their own complicated life circumstances related to school, family, work, relationships, and mental and spiritual well being. Therapy can be an essential tool to work to un-complicate these circumstances and focus on making happiness and wellness a daily priority. When we feel overwhelmed with worry or that it's impossible to accomplish daily tasks we feel powerless. I have been in this field for over 15 years and can provide a supportive and empathic environment in which we can work together on specific goals and changes for your life. My experience with issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and parenting allow me to help you identify obstacles to change and move forward in improving your overall mental health. I am both a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor. Entering therapy can be daunting but I will provide a relaxed atmosphere for you to feel empowered and motivated to make real improvements in your life. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities to ensure that we are working towards the best possible solutions for your specific needs.

We are a thriving DBT practice that works with teens and young adults to skillfully manage the strong emotions that they find overwhelming or interfere with their ability to function effectively in their lives. We offer group and individual therapy services. We would consider virtual (telehealth) services if a person has already had DBT and is seeking support to maintain gains. Another service we offer is psychological assessment, which is provided to help clarify mental health diagnoses, to learn more about what is getting in the way of treatment progress, or to take a deeper dive into how someone's personality is constructed. (This is different from neuropsych assessment.)
