Many of us struggle in silence to overcome the challenges we face, but you no longer have to face that battle alone. While the first step is acknowledging the change you need, it takes courage to recognize you need some guidance. It takes even more courage to initiate those first steps towards improving your life. I am a mental health therapist passionate about serving others through some of the darkest periods of their lives. I empower my clients battling issues related to anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harming behavior, trauma, emotional regulation, difficulties with stress, anger management, relationship problems, and many more. I consider the work I do a privilege. I look forward to beginning the journey of assisting clients in becoming not who they were before, but a new, integrated, and improved version of themselves. Are you ready to embark on this adventure together?
College life presents its own unique opportunities for self-growth. You may be bringing unresolved childhood issues with you to college, struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, fear, or stress impacting daily life. Counseling together may assist in leading a healthier and happier life. I work best with individuals that are curious for self exploration. I offer a non-judgemental and safe place for students to explore. I utilize EMDR, CBT, Solution-Focused, and strengths based approaches to therapy. The first step is to see if we are a good fit together.
I create a safe space for you to explore who you are, your experiences in life, and what you would like to become or experience, by providing a non-judgmental, respectful, calm, stable, and positive atmosphere as your counselor. I will encourage and guide you to be your authentic self. The populations I specialize in counseling include people who identify within the broad spectrums of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression (and their loved ones), persons living with HIV, social justice & civil rights workers, and polyamorous folks & others in non-traditional, open, and/or kink relationships. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and those who are going through life changes. I also enjoy teaching life and coping skills, assertive communication, boundary setting, mindfulness, and doing relationship counseling, career counseling, and life coaching. Sessions are video telehealth only, and are $100 for 45-minute sessions.
I have over 21 years experience working with adults with trauma, co-dependency, CPTSD, depression, anxiety, low self esteem and other issues. I combine active listening, creativity, humor, patience and empathy. I am eclectic in my approaches and do not believe therapy is a one size fits all and try to adapt my approaches to the needs of my clients. I believe if I can help you get through the pain and confusion of your feelings, provide tools to teach you how to ground yourself, relax, soothe and regulate your emotions: you may feel much better and more hopeful. I will not just sit and nod my head. We will be a team working together on helping you live your best life
Do you feel stuck in the same routines, weighed down by stress, tough memories, or sudden feelings of anxiety or sadness? Are you trying to manage this on your own? Trying to handle this on your own can be exhausting, especially when it feels like nothing changes. Therapy offers a place where you’re understood, and your needs come first. We’ll work together to figure out what matters most to you, make sense of your experiences, and find practical ways to cope. You can start moving forward with more clarity, confidence, and ease, all at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I enjoy working with a wide variety of college students, individuals grieving pet loss, and those in technical fields throughout Massachusetts, given my own background as a software engineer. I also specialize in working with individuals on the autism spectrum, including neurodivergent adults. My approach comes from a strengths based perspective. I believe that individuals have the ability to make significant life changes by identifying the sources of their current difficulties, understanding why their coping methods may have made good sense at the time, and learning new ways of being in the world that fit with who they are now and that support their growth and heart's desire. My role is to provide a supportive, trust-based environment and help individuals create the lives they wish to live. I use a largely psychodynamic perspective, often integrating mindfulness and cognitive behavioral approaches. I'm interested in research areas of positive psychology, the neurobiology of connection, adaptive solitude, therapeutic journal writing, and the role of nutrition and fitness on mood, mental health, and well-being. I look forward to meeting you!

Lighthouse Counseling & Sand Play Training Center is an outpatient facility providing support through scheduled appointments only for families, children, couples, and individuals. We also offer workshops and groups for individuals seeking community and support. Sand Play therapy allows the person to tap into the psyche. Through the use of symbolic figures, a person is able to create in the sand tray stories which examine their wounds, the effects from those wounds, and the possibilities for resolution. The practitioner is then able to help a person to connect insights to feelings and begin the journey toward healing. Through Sand Play, the adult client is able to build the skills necessary to avoid the problematic patterns of the past. Children’s thoughts and feelings are given a voice through symbolic play, enabling them to resolve their issues in a language they understand. “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) integrates elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximize treatment effects. These include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies. EMDR is an information processing therapy and uses an eight phase approach ….After EMDR processing, clients generally report that the emotional distress related to the memory has been eliminated, or greatly decreased and that they have gained important cognitive insights. Importantly, these emotional and cognitive changes usually result in spontaneous behavioral and personal change, which are further enhanced with standard EMDR procedures.” The development of the addictive personality is not an overnight event. Often times, an addicted person will have a history of trauma and grief. It is critical to have a comprehensive treatment plan with a therapist who specializes in addictions work in order to make a full recovery. Shoreline Wellness Center places a focus on talk therapy (psychotherapy) to help patients better manage the stress they encounter in their daily life. Working with a therapist has many benefits, such as coping with feelings, facing and solving problems, or changing behavioral patterns that are leading to some of your symptoms. In therapy, we don’t just talk about problems. The main goal is to develop a reasonable and doable solution. Sometimes you may have “homework” to complete for your therapist. This may include something like tracking your moods throughout the day, journaling about your thoughts, going out of your way to be social, or joining in activities that caused you to feel anxious in the past. Your therapist may even suggest for you to try to look at things differently or to learn new skills to use in your everyday life. Therapy focuses on current and past thoughts, feelings, and issues. Both are important, as they may very well be connected in some way. Discussing your challenges and having an open dialogue is the key to finding the solution to help your present and prepare for your future.
