As a solution-focused, goal-oriented therapist, my treatment approach is to provide you with the support and practical feedback that will assist you in resolving not only your current problems, but with any long-standing patterns of behaviors that may be interfering with your daily life and relationships. With sensitivity and compassion, I will assist you in finding solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues. Incorporating conventional and cognitive-behavioral strategies, I draw on a variety of styles and techniques in determining what will be most helpful to you. I also have an extensive history working with both children and adults throughout the North Shore area in a variety of treatment settings.
I have over 25 years of clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings and I use CBT, Stress Management Techniques and Family Systems approach in treating latency age children, adolescents and adults. My style is interactive, supportive and insight oriented. I work with children, adolescents and adults around issues including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, family, peer or school problems. I am a McLean Hospital Credentialed Clinician.
I’m Whitney, and I help individuals and couples understand how the past may be influencing their present, and how to build the value-driven, fulfilling life they deserve. Many people who have experienced trauma feel as if they simply cannot be helped. Perhaps you’ve tried traditional talk therapy and felt that it didn’t quite move the needle—because trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. While talk therapy can be valuable, it may only skim the surface, leaving you feeling isolated or hopeless. By integrating EMDR, IFS, and somatic-focused approaches, I help clients develop greater awareness of the root causes of their pain while providing practical tools for lasting change. As an LGBTQIA+ clinician who has personally experienced and healed from multiple forms of trauma, I’ve dedicated my career to creating a space for discovery, compassion, and transformation. I know what it feels like to feel broken or alone—to believe your past determines your future. When you work with me, you won’t get a clinician who simply nods and validates—you’ll work with someone who’s lived it, who gets it, and who will collaborate with you to find enduring peace and clarity.
We are a 5 location plus telehealth only division of 45+ therapists covering a range of specialities for clients in Massachusetts. I encourage you to go on our web-site and look us up on our about page and all the pages of what we treat. Be well!
Licensed Mental Health Counselor | Art Therapist | Supporting College Students I am a licensed mental health counselor with a passion for supporting college students as they navigate the unique challenges of academic life, personal growth, and emotional well-being. With a background in both traditional talk therapy and expressive art therapies, I offer a holistic approach to mental health that encourages self-exploration and healing through creativity. I understand the pressures that college students face—whether it's academic stress, relationship struggles, or identity exploration—and I am dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for each individual to express themselves and find balance. Through the use of art-based interventions, I aim to help students enhance self-awareness, process difficult emotions, and develop coping strategies that promote overall mental health.

I offer therapy sessions in both English and Mandarin. I was born and raised in China, and later came to the U.S. for grad school. My personal experience in navigating the challenges of life transitions, cultures, and expectations inspired me to create a safe, gentle space where you can be heard and understood. I’m here to listen to your stories and unspoken emotions, and help you find your true voice. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be holding you back and gently uncover the myths that no longer serve you. I create warm, accepting, and collaborative relationships that anchor and support people as they problem-solve, deepen their understanding of their own needs, set goals, and move towards the changes they want in their lives. Trained as a psychologist and psychoanalyst, I emphasize the way that relationships shape us. I work with adults-- including undergraduate and graduate students- who are struggling with change or loss related to life transitions, relational issues, aloneness, anxiety, trauma, achievement issues, and grief. I'm an active listener, who is described by my patients as warm, flexible, and collaborative. I see people in my office, located in Concord center or via telehealth.

I believe therapy offers the opportunity to become who you really are. People are often unaware of all of the factors that are keeping them stuck, creating dissatisfaction, or causing distressing symptoms. By developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships through therapy, it becomes possible to experience your life more authentically, feel better in your relationships, and move toward what is enriching or important to you. I provide a reliable and empathic setting where we can carefully understand the difficulties you are experiencing – leading to relief, personal growth and lasting change. I provide psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Of note, I have a sliding scale for psychoanalysis patients. As a board-certified psychiatrist I can also prescribe, when indicated, psychiatric medications – either in combination with or separate from therapy. When medications are considered, I will work collaboratively with you to make shared treatment decisions while carefully weighing the risks, benefits and alternatives to medication. I have extensive experience helping patients with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem, ADHD, OCD, identity questions and more. I also have a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ individuals. In addition to my practice, I’m also a Teaching Associate at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. I completed my Adult Psychiatry Residency training at Cambridge Health Alliance / Harvard Medical School. I welcome you to email me or call with questions or to schedule a free consultation.
Paul Coleman is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Coleman Mental Health Associates specializing in patient mental health. What is essential for people to realize is “no two people are the same”. Thus, each patient will receive an individualized, collaborative care plan in this outpatient office. Treatment includes several mental health conditions that have depression, bipolar, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQI issues, and medication management, to name a few. My primary focus and goals are to provide a safe place for patients to realize their strengths. This includes working together with listening to your concerns and developing customizable, collaborative treatment plans that helps you feel empowered in making decisions regarding your care. This biopsychosocial paradigm takes a holistic approach to identifying and assess overall health. This includes exercise, sleep hygiene, and psychotherapy to name a few. While medication management is part of this practice, not everyone needs medications, therefore prescribing when necessary. The goal is to get to the root cause of your struggles and help you move forward.
