As a licensed clinical psychologist, I am keenly aware of the courage it takes to reach out to a therapist. It is my hope to build a safe, strong, and productive connection with every person I work with. Therapy is about restoring and healing connections with oneself and others. To that end, I serve individuals, groups, couples, and families across the life span with a focus on individual and couples therapy. Working with college students and young professionals has been a consistent part of my work since 2010. Our Approach to Medication Management (Psychopharmacology) At NORTHEAST WELLNESS, we provide care combining medication management along with psychotherapy. When medication management is indicated for one's care, we try to initiate one medication at a time and continue to monitor and adjust as needed to achieve reduction of the targeted symptom. Our goal is to provide the best care to each individual and to decrease the possibility of an adverse reaction.

I am a psychologist experienced in working with college students and young adults trying to cope with a broad range of difficulties. I have particular expertise in couples therapy and in individual therapy to treat depression and bipolar disorders, anxiety, OCD, life transitions, relationship issues, and stress. I often work with individuals who have eating disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and substance use problems, as well. I use a client-centered and skills-oriented approach, incorporating a blend of evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT) to individually tailor treatment to each client's unique values and goals. My style is warm, direct, and genuine, often incorporating levity and humor. I help college students: -stop obsessing about food, their body image, or what they're eating -let go of chronic worrying and find stillness in amidst busy lives -manage their stress so that students can stay on top of all their demands -feel more in control by better organizing their time and building routine (less doom scrolling!) -feel more authentic navigating new-found independence (particularly among societal or familial pressures!) I think of this work as a combination of life coaching and therapy. We will focus on your day to day life challenges, noticing the patterns that lead to success as well as those patterns that get in your way. While doing this we can strengthen and celebrate what is working, become aware of patterns that are not working and create new patterns resulting in a better life. Sara is an experienced practitioner offering individual therapy for adults and adolescents. She helps individuals understand how past experiences affect thinking and choices in the present. Her approach also offers skills to manage difficult emotions, increase flexibility and build balanced relationships so clients can move their lives in the direction they want.
