I have extensive experience working with students with anxiety, stress, academic and career needs, learning disabilities, Autism, behavior and trauma. I have been involved with writing, and implementing IEP's and 504's, as well. School can force you into learning things about yourself you never knew. It can be a great thing, but it can also cause stress, and force you to self-reflect in a way that we often times may want to avoid. My hope is to come alongside of you to create a life of resilience despite any adversity you may encounter. I am in network in NC with Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna. For out of network benefits, I can provide a superbill to assist with reimbursement and I also partner with a company to assist you with submitting claims, if you wish to utilize them.

Going to a counselor can be intimidating or nerve wracking. Will they accept me? What if I don't know what exactly I want to talk about in therapy? All of these feelings are really normal when beginning counseling and I've had experience working with kids, teenagers, young adults, and adults to begin the journey of processing whatever they would like to work on in therapy. I offer collaborative, supportive, and honest therapy to provide my clients with therapy that helps them identify and work towards the changes they want to see in their lives. I would say my most successful clients have been clients who have been experiencing feelings of anxiety and processing past trauma. I have training in EMDR therapy to help assist with processing past trauma and I work from a theoretical framework of attachment theory, which emphasizes how past relationships impact current relationships. I also provide couples counseling as I have training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
