Thank you for being here - I know how vulnerable it can be searching for a counselor during life's most difficult moments. I respect your courage in seeking support and reaching out. I work with adolescents and adults struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and emotional management, especially anger. As a clinically trained body-mind therapist, my focus is on mindfulness and present-moment awareness. I believe in growth within safe, non-judgmental relationships where you feel empowered to experience new perspectives, opportunity, and healing. In session I am present-focused, transparent, and relational. My approach is rooted in trust and collaboration. I value authenticity, and bring myself into our sessions. I offer tools and techniques designed to connect your thoughts to your emotions, then creating action. I have developed a robust set of resources that are available to all of my clients. I am an advocate for healthy manhood and a proponent of simple living. I carry a strong connection to the outdoors. My therapeutic support dog, Joe, may be a part of our sessions. You deserve healing and connection. Please reach out when you are ready.

Waking up each day to feel the weight of society’s expectations on your shoulders is overwhelming. There are times where you begin to wonder where you belong and if there is a place you can really be yourself. You were never given the opportunity to discover your true self and now you’re wondering who you really are! So many aspects of how you were raised and the things you experienced are holding onto you and keeping you from embracing new paths in your life. At times, it can be lonely navigating life while finding yourself, unlearning toxic beliefs, and learning to love the person you’re meant to be. But life is a journey! You deserve to wake up excited for the day and all of its possibilities. You are worthy of taking the time to stop and find yourself and discover who you want to be. It’s okay to acknowledge where you came from and the events that shaped you while also striving for a different path. It’s okay to question the ideals you grew up with and it’s okay to challenge the ones you feel don’t fit with who you want to be now! This is your life and you deserve to be in control of it. If any of that describes how you’re currently feeling, I would love to join you on your journey to self discovery. Finding yourself and your place in life can be challenging work but you do not have to do it alone. If you feel you’re ready to begin the journey, I am here to walk with you!

About me: I am a licensed psychologist focusing on work with trauma/complex trauma, eating disorder and body image recovery, relationship concerns, LGBTQ+ and polyamory, depression, anxiety, and college-related concerns. I am Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained and offer this service virtually for clients as well as a registered yoga teacher and love incorporating yoga foundations into clinical and body work. As a queer, agnostic person looking to challenge diet culture/anti-fatness, racial discrimination, anti-queer and other justice issues, you'll see this perspective play out in our work together. I find working with those both with similar and different identities to be fulfilling and approach each person with curiosity and empowerment. I have a strong interest in and passion for helping individuals explore their intersecting identities and roles and the ways in which they move through and exist in the systems in place in the community and in the world. Education & Training: I am a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of complex/trauma, eating disorders and body image concerns, LGBTQ+/CNM concerns, religious abuse and deconstruction, and anxiety, depression, and stress. I am dual licensed in Colorado and North Carolina. I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University and completed my doctoral internship at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I have worked in college counseling centers, working with college students like you, for over 8 years before entering private practice! Unique offerings for therapeutic support include Walk and Talk therapy (for in person clients) and EMDR therapy. -EMDR Training, The Road Less Traveled Counseling Center; EMDRIA-Approved Training Provider (2022) -Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, Oklahoma State University, Program Accredited by the American Psychological Association (2021) -Doctoral Psychology Internship, Appalachian State University Counseling and Psychological Services, APA Accredited Doctoral Internship (2021) -M.S. in Counseling and Counselor Education, Indiana University Bloomington, APA Accredited Program (2017) -B.S. in Pre-Art Therapy and Psychology, University of Indianapolis (2015) Approach to Clinical Work My integrated and collaborative clinical approach focuses on building a safe and comfortable space in order to show up authentically, honestly, and relationally with ourselves and one another. I orient my work with focusing on individual, cultural, and trauma-informed perspectives, with a focus on social justice and a system-oriented perspective. I combine various empirically validated approaches based on need, concerns, and preference, from foundational humanistic and multicultural-feminist frameworks to interpersonal, internal family systems, and/or third-wave approaches (ACT, DBT, or CBT). I specialize in working with the young adult and/or college student population, but enjoy all ages! I enjoy utilizing humor, creative approaches to therapy, and aim to balance support and challenge for personal growth. Personal I am a Hoosier native that fell in love with the Appalachian Mountains during my time in North Carolina and now love my time in the Rockies as well! In my free time, I like teaching yoga, hiking with my partner and dogs, snow skiing, brewing kombucha, trying new breweries, and pickleball!

Click this link to make an appointment easily online: https://www.rula.com/providers/SC/1164800447? I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. I have been practicing for 15 years and I love what I do. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Our mind, body, and soul all work together to create who we are. It is important that we work to get each of these aspects of our lives healthy. My therapy approach is eclectic style. I truly believe that each individual has unique needs that I want to ensure I meet. I have a great deal of experience in working with college students. I specialize in treating anxiety, adjustment, and life stressor issues, trauma, depression, family dynamics, anger management, ADHD, developmental issues, self-esteem, issues children and adolescents face, and more. My approach I utilize an eclectic style of therapy to meet each individual's needs. My primary approaches to therapy are CBT, Client-Centered, Solution Focused, Positive Psychology, TF-CBT, and Play Therapy. My focus I have experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. I enjoy working with all ages. My communication style My therapeutic environment and communication are open, non-confrontational, and judgment-free. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. My journey to mental healthcare When I was in high school, I took a Psychology class and fell in love with learning about the mind and how it works. I have always had a passion for helping others, and immediately knew that therapy was what I wanted to choose as a career. It has been the best decision I have made. My goals for you When working with clients on setting goals, I encourage them to create their own goals. I will provide input as well, and help them navigate this. I want their goals to be realistic and attainable. I want my clients to understand that therapy is their space and time to create their own goals. My first session with you In the first session I will inquire with clients what their goals are and what brings them into therapy. I will complete a biopsychosocial assessment with them and gather information to help me best meet their needs. I will introduce myself and my therapeutic approach, and allow for any questions they have.

I specialize in overthinking, perfectionism, and imposter syndrome. Clients who come to me often struggle with feeling “enough.". They often feel an imbalance in their lives and are quick to sacrifice self-care for others or in the face of stress. They feel their emotions strongly and sometimes feel controlled by them, leaving them often emotionally and physically drained. My clients are ready to create change in their lives and feel more peace of mind.
