I am a pre-licensed mental health counselor (LCMHC-A) at Pathways to Life, Inc. in Greensboro, North Carolina, where I serve as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team under the supervision of Britney Reynolds, MA LCMHC-QS, Corporate Clinical Director, and Vivian Clark, LCSW, Regional Director. Pathways to Life, Inc. is a community mental health agency committed to connecting individuals with a range of services designed to address their unique needs. As a Christian counselor, I integrate faith-based principles and values into my clinical practice, offering clients the option to explore spiritual concerns and incorporate their beliefs into the therapeutic process. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, respecting each person’s worldview and goals. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which equips me to support children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma-related symptoms and PTSD. My areas of focus also include anxiety, behavioral issues, body image, career concerns, college adjustment, depression, emotional regulation, family conflict, identity development, impulse control, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship issues, self-esteem, sexuality, sexual orientation, social anxiety, social isolation, academic stress, and more. I believe in the power of healing through humor and strive to create a welcoming, genuine environment where clients feel safe to show up authentically. It is important to me that each session is a space where you can be yourself, express vulnerability, and build trust. I am committed to providing evidence-based care that fosters personal growth, emotional healing, and holistic well-being, whether clients seek support for mental health, spiritual concerns, or trauma recovery.
Navigating the transition to college and early adulthood can be exciting, but it can also be incredibly stressful and overwhelming. Are you struggling to manage the pressures of academics, relationships, or being away from home? Do you find yourself constantly worrying, feeling down, or having difficulty sleeping? Are you experiencing conflict with parents, peers, or even professors? Are you questioning whether college is the right path for you, or if you're pursuing it due to external pressure? Everyone experiences some level of stress during this time, but if these feelings are persistent and impacting your daily life, or causing significant relationship strain, it might be helpful to talk to someone. Counseling provides a safe space to explore these challenges, develop coping strategies, and clarify your own goals and values. Our virtual sessions offer the flexibility to meet before, between, or after classes, making it easier than ever to prioritize your mental well-being as you navigate this new chapter. I believe that anyone can benefit from counseling. Regardless of your reason for seeking counseling, I would like the opportunity to work with you. If you are seeking a mental health professional that is also a practicing follower of Christ, I invite you to reach out. I specialize in individual counseling related to grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, issues related to marriage, children and spirituality. I understand that grief is not always related to a physical death, but can take on many forms and be caused by many things. Grief can be all-consuming and at times feel never-ending. I have special training in treating anxiety, and in providing premarital counseling and issues related to adoption and foster care. I invite you to reach out for a free consultation to see if my approach might be a good fit to you and your needs.

Life is hard. You’re tired of unfair social standards and exhausted from your identities not being celebrated, valued, or welcomed. The space you occupy comes with expectations and standards that feel like inescapable constraints. When you pause and look up at the stars you feel a sense of belonging and feel connected to your guiding values yet your day-to-day is missing this feeling. You stay overly busy without time to think about the hard stuff, or you find yourself sad and overwhelmed with less interest in things you may normally care about, and wonder where to go from here. This might be where therapy comes in. Together we can move towards seeing yourself as valuable, living the life you want to live, navigating systems of oppression, and creating community as a way to heal. I specialize in working with adults with marginalized identities. My areas of focus are anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and identity-related difficulties. During our sessions, we will work within an anti-racist, social justice, Disability Justice, and Health at Every Size framework. If this sounds like a foundation you’d like to work with and you’re looking for the balance between genuine connection, radical compassion, accountability, and a dash of silliness, I might be the therapist for you

College can bring a lot: new freedom, pressure to succeed, and the stress of figuring out who you are and where you are headed. Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. With 12 years of experience working in university counseling centers, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges of college and graduate students' lives. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.

Therapy for individuals and couples through a trauma-informed lens in a comfortable and casual space.
Getting started can be overwhelming. My goal is to help you feel as comfortable as possible so we can go at your pace. I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and addiction. Many of my clients have tried to cope with difficult life changes by pushing their feelings away or finding short-term coping mechanisms that serve as a distraction. My role is to help people listen to and manage their emotions without feeling overwhelmed or ruled by them. Being personally in recovery from alcohol helps me understand and empathize with what you’re going through because I’ve probably been there too. I like to break down clinical approaches to collaboratively determine the best fit for each person’s unique goals. I incorporate elements of neurobiology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and schema work to help people better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. If you're not sure what you're looking for yet, that's okay! Feel free to reach out to set up an introductory phone call to see if we're a good fit.
Freedom from emotional hijack is found in noticing, naming, and knowing. This can be the gift of psychotherapy. Congratulations on looking for a therapist and trying to figure out what will be best for you! It can seem like it requires endurance, when all you’re trying to do is get your mental health needs met. The good news is there are lots and lots of great therapy practices! And a practice or a therapist that’s a great fit for one person, doesn’t mean that it is for you! All that matters is what works for you. Whether you feel nervous, doubtful, unsure, excited, and/or anything else, let’s chat, when/if you’re ready. Just because we talk, doesn’t mean you have to start therapy!
Safe. Confident. Peaceful. Free. Empowered. I believe we all strive to feel this, yet at times life gets in the way and we feel stuck, unable to move forward. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and encouraging environment, while providing you with the tools you need to begin the healing process. I believe in helping my clients find the answers they already have access to. As a therapist, I strive to join with my client to understand their path to success. Ultimately, a major goal is not to tell someone what to do but to help them decide what they want to do and how to get there. I look forward to working with you.

As a psychologist, one of the biggest part of my roles is to aid people with learning and understanding strengths/weakness and how to use these to increase goals they want and to reduce the negative impact on their life. I use testing and evaluations to understand and diagnosis the negative impact areas. Psychological evaluations are helpful when wanting to know your diagnosis, needing school accommodations related to mental health, ADHD evaluations to just name a few. My counseling specialty is with substance use and addiction, and even more specific in that field I enjoy counseling those with both mental health and addiction disorders. Many times specialized care is needed when you have both as focusing on one and not the other can lead to relapse in both disorders.

Do you struggle with feeling out of control - or, alternately, with working desperately hard to stay in control? Does the idea of losing or letting go of control feel terrifying and dangerous? Maybe you even swing between these extremes at times, and have no idea why. Trauma, stress, and challenging life experiences can show up in lots of different ways, with lots of different symptoms. I’ve worked with people who have many different kinds of presenting concerns or diagnoses, but who have similar struggles with control in one way or another. I help people who are confused by their emotional reactions to make sense of their feelings, and to learn how to cope with their stress in order to heal and grow. I love collaborating with clients to build a sense of safety and a strong working alliance, particularly with people who have experiences of relational trauma. Whether you are totally new to counseling, or have been in therapy for years, I want to work with you during this part of your story.
You know what you want to change. Yet, you know they aren't improving or even worsening, leaving you feeling more alone. While a part of you wants to feel connected and supported by loved ones and friends, they may not get it and would confirm your fear of rejection or for being too much. You've always been highly sensitive to other people's emotions, and you learned young to hide them and deal with it by yourself. Deep down you want support, but don't know what or how to get it, leaving you feeling alone and misunderstood. You are tired of not understanding why you are feeling and reacting so strongly. Enough's enough. You deserve more. What if you can explore how you learned to show up and manage stress in relationships? What if you don't have to abandon your needs to feel loved and safe? What if you can look at the same "problem" in different ways to better see new possible solutions? What if you learn honor your needs and fears, and communicate them clearly so you feel seen and heard? In the past 14 years, I have focused on helping people like you better understand themselves and experience a safe space to explore and process their lives. To be seen and heard, and connect with the person you've always been. To view your struggles from new perspectives and find ways to create changes. You've got this. We've got this.
