Creating a space for someone to feel supported and heard is my first priority. The most important aspect of a therapeutic relationship is the dynamic between client and therapist. When you truly feel comfortable and understood by your therapist then that is when therapy can thrive. The goal in the work we do is to focus on assisting you in healing so that you are able to use the space and time we have to decipher what would work best for you to move forward. Therapy is a place for you to unwind, unload and have an opportunity to speak your thoughts out loud, reflect and make sense of how you would like to proceed away from stress, anxiety, anger, melancholy or behaviors that are no longer useful and yet challenging to change. I have worked in the field of HIV, substance use and mental health for over a decade. Primarily working in community health centers and non profit organizations, I have had the honor of providing mental health services to homeless men and women, adults who are actively using substances and unsure of what changes they would like to make, if any, and with homeless youth who are struggling with a severe mental illness. My graduate education and training was started and completed in the Bay Area where I also taught mindfulness meditation through a research study at UCSF. I am a Latino Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in the state of New York. I specialize in working with people, in both English and Spanish, who are struggling with Substance Use, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Sexual Identity, Coming out, Gender Identity & Transition, HIV-related issues, Relationship issues, Grief and Loss, Sexual Difficulties, Migration issues and adapting to a new country with a sensitivity to diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. In addition I also specialize in working with people who believe in non traditional sexual relationships and expressions. I am currently accepting new clients in the Flatiron District of New York City. If you are considering therapy or even just pondering on whether this is a right fit for you, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Too much stress can be overwhelming and will affect our concentration, stamina, and clarity of mind. The very nature of trauma is the experience of too much, a feeling of being overwhelmed. My specialty is in Creativity and Trauma and how one informs the other. This is not easy work, but it can be fun. We use what is called a Bottom Up approach, in combination with a Top Down. What this means is we learn to tune into our body brain and not just our head brain. As a Creative Arts psychotherapist and trauma specialist I've discovered ways to work that help you heal, feel better, and help you make more sense out of your life. When we meet first we find out what is going on, what has gone on, and how we want to use our time together. We can continue to talk; we may include some of the modalities in which I am trained (Art Therapy, EMDR...). It depends on what you are most comfortable with, and fits your particular issues and concerns Please know I am exclusively working online

Hello! I have over 20 years of experience working as a counselor and social worker and enjoy working with people of all ages. I employ techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, tapping, and motivational interviewing to assist my clients. I have a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. I believe in meeting people where they are at, and empowering them to do the things that they want to do, not the things others tell them they should be doing. Many of my clients have told me that I am easy to talk to, a good listener, and nonjudgmental. My communication during therapy is truthful and real. My tone and demeanor will fit what you need - some people desire a soft and gentle tone, and some people want to get straight to the point. I believe that it is important to hear a person's story and understand what their goals are before beginning any treatment. In our first session, we will talk about why you came to counseling and what you hope to achieve while meeting with me. I'd like to hear from you if you think we might be a good fit. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!

Therapy is one's self-exploration journey that I would love to be a part of. As a mental health counselor, my aim is to build strong relationships with each of my clients and revel in their accomplishments. More importantly, I am focused on guiding my clients through their challenges and recovery process with a person-centered, humanistic approach. Individuals can expect to step into a safe and empathetic environment where I will work to understand potential triggers and build a treatment plan with the goal of releasing these mental burdens. By working together, I aim to empower individuals in their healing journey. It’s my goal to ensure that these individuals grow their self-confidence, self-love, and self-worth over time and learn how to have healthy. I particularly enjoy working with people to explore the best solutions to their emotional challenges and believe it is truly a collaborative effort to support individuals as they face the challenges of life and begin to construct healthier and authentic ways to experience the world.

It's been an endless search for a therapist who really gets you. Someone who can dive into your problems without making you feel you have to compartmentalize important parts of your life. Someone who can be a safe sounding board whatever comes up. I want you to know it's ok to show up however you're feeling that day. It's ok to open up at your own pace. I will be right here beside you as you discover unique pathways towards resilience, fulfillment and fun. I center the needs of non-binary & other LGBTQ people in my practice. I help people navigate: stress management and resilience; emotional impact of chronic illness; family of origin issues; and enhancing fulfillment in all sorts of relationships through increased self-knowledge, communication, and collaboration. I believe therapy is most effective when it is a dynamic, collaborative process that integrates the wisdom of our body, mind and spiritual self. I use various approaches including Brainspotting, Heartmath, and mindfulness-based somatic therapy, that allow us to access the deep healing potential of brain, body and mind. Many of the students I work with describe feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or “stuck,” like they’re doing all the right things on paper but still struggling underneath the surface. They might overthink, hold themselves to very high standards, or find it hard to quiet their mind. Others come to therapy because they’re having trouble managing relationships, navigating big life transitions, or coping with perfectionism and self-doubt. In our work together, we focus on understanding what’s driving your anxiety or stress, learning practical tools to manage it, and developing a more balanced and compassionate relationship with yourself. My approach blends evidence-based strategies (like CBT, ACT, and DBT) with a warm, relational style so therapy feels both structured and genuinely supportive. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, OCD, burnout, or the pressures of being a student in a fast-paced world, therapy can help you slow down, build clarity, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels more grounded and confident.

The students I work best with often share a desire to feel understood, supported, and empowered as they navigate college life, especially when their path doesn’t look like everyone else’s. I work with a wide range of college students including international students, first-generation college students, students from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds, as well as both traditional and nontraditional students. What they often have in common is that they’re carrying a lot, whether it's pressure to succeed, cultural or family expectations, feelings of anxiety, questions about identity and belonging, or simply the stress of trying to figure out who they are and what comes next. In our work together, we create space to explore these experiences without judgment. If you’re a student who’s juggling multiple roles, feeling out of place, or simply looking for support during a major life transition, you’re not alone and you don’t have to do it all on your own.

I work with students who feel like life is moving too fast and expectations are piling up. Maybe you’re stressed about classes, friendships, or future plans, or just feeling unsure of yourself. Therapy is a place to slow down, be heard, and figure out what really matters to you. The people I work with often struggle with stress, self-doubt, or adjusting to big life changes. Together, we explore ways to handle pressure, build confidence, and find balance in your academic and personal life. Sessions are a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings. You’ll leave with practical strategies and a clearer sense of your own goals and values, so you can navigate college life with more confidence and calm.
