During your life, you may experience difficult periods of adjustment related to major life changes and/or losses, difficulty in relationships, and/or cultural/social differences in environmental contexts. These periods in your life may lead to or be related to general difficulty coping with life circumstance, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. I provide a holistic approach to working with clients striving to understand them from an intrapsychic, interpersonal, and sociocultural perspective. In working with you, I endeavor to understand how your personality, relationships, and sociocultural identities and environmental contexts interact to affect your psychological functioning and wellbeing. Personal development through counseling/psychotherapy comes from feeling secure in a relational context to explore one's issues. Primary to this process is the establishment of a nurturing therapeutic relationship/alliance. In establishing a safe environment, I will assist you in experiencing more satisfying attitudes, relationships, and feeling more empowered. A major aspect of my work involves understanding how racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity affects one's psychosocial functioning. Understanding your sociocultural identities and how they inform and affect your life assists me in determining what interventions and techniques will be most appropriate for you.

Parenting is one of the most meaningful things a person can do, and one of the most overwhelming. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral concerns, and mood disorders. As a mother of five, I know firsthand that raising children can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly hard. That lived experience shapes how I show up for the families I work with. You won't be handed a clinical framework; you'll be met with genuine empathy from someone who understands what it feels like to navigate difficult moments. I care deeply about the best interest of each child while also recognizing the important role parents play, which is why we work together on improving emotional well-being, building confidence, and empowering young people to thrive. I believe in the resilience of children and in the power of the parent-child relationship, and am here to help you strengthen both. I look forward to walking alongside you with empathy, respect, and understanding as your steady and supportive partner through even the most difficult moments. Every child deserves to feel understood, valued, and supported. That belief is at the heart of everything I do, and it's what drives me to show up fully for every patient and family I work with. Lasting change, in my experience, happens when families are treated as partners in care, which is why my approach is collaborative and family-centered by design. I use evidence-based medication management alongside supportive therapeutic techniques to help children and adolescents improve emotional regulation, reduce symptoms, and build resilience and confidence over time. Each patient is different, and I tailor my approach to fit the individual's needs, circumstances, and goals. Whether we're addressing anxiety, ADHD, mood instability, or behavioral concerns, the environment you'll find here is safe, nonjudgmental, and built on trust. My path to psychiatric mental health grew out of years of caring for patients and families as a registered nurse specializing in oncology medicine. In this work, I witnessed how deeply mental health impacts not only the individual but the entire family system. Becoming a mother of five made my calling even more personal. Watching my own children develop — navigating communication, resilience, and big emotions — gave me a new lens for understanding what families truly need. It reinforced my commitment to care that is grounded, evidence-based, and compassionate, with a strong focus on understanding the child’s needs and the parent’s experience. That combination of clinical foundation and lived family experience is what I bring into every session. You'll find someone who has both studied this work and lived it. Outside of my clinical work, I value spending time with my family and enjoying life outdoors. I love traveling with my family in our RV, camping, hiking, walking, and if I can ever find the time, riding horses. These experiences keep me grounded and reflect my belief in balance, connection, and the importance of mental wellness and everyday life.

At the heart of psychotherapy is accompaniment through one’s inner world. Current difficulties, past struggles, individual and familial traumas, hidden hopes and dreams – all of this will be central to making sense of your present and building toward your future. Starting psychotherapy can feel intimidating, but the benefits can be huge: deeper self-understanding, more meaningful and authentic relationships, reduced depression and anxiety, increased self-confidence. I have worked with a diverse swath of undergrad and graduate students in college counseling centers, and have studied and taught at private and public universities across the country. My specializations include relationship struggles, family conflict and crisis, identity development, career direction, academic concerns, gender and sexuality, trauma, spirituality, creativity, chronic illness, immigration, and LGBTQIA+ issues in teens and adults. I am committed to meeting you where you are at in the therapeutic process, and I welcome exploration of racial, sexual, and gender identities. I am a Harvard Medical School Psychiatry fellow trained in psychodynamic, relational, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness-based therapies, but I believe a strong sense of connection is the most important element in seeking a therapist. I encourage you to reach out to a number of practitioners to find a good match. I look forward to hearing from you.

You've worked hard to get where you are. On the outside, it looks like you have it all together- but inside, the pressure, the self-doubt, and the endless expectations can feel overwhelming. If you're feeling stuck, questioning your worth, or struggling to balance success with well-being, you're not alone. High-achieving individuals often face these challenges in silence, but you don't have to. This is where our work together begins… At Manning Psychological Wellness, I help ambitious individuals and students to navigate challenges including anxiety, stress, self-esteem, perfectionism, burnout, and life transitions. We will work together to help you gain clarity, and develop strategies that support resilience and growth- academically and personally.
Students who come to work with me often share some things in common: -They're high-achievers. Driven, capable, and holding it together on the outside, but quietly exhausted, burned out, or feeling like something's missing on the inside. -They might be navigating anxiety or OCD, going through a major life transition, or questioning their purpose and what comes next. They may be working through shifts in their relationships, with a partner, with their parents, or with themselves. -Many have never asked for help before. They're used to being the one who has it together, and reaching out takes real courage for them. If any of that sounds familiar, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation and let's get started together :)

I specialize in LGBTQIA+ adults and adolescents with attention to all intersecting identities and lived experience connected to race, ethnicity, religious background, immigration status, ability, socioeconomic status, and trauma history. Particularly in these upending times, I seek to provide a reliable healing space by helping clients find genuine, compassionate connection with oneself and others. Some of the ways I work with clients is to become aware of connections between current challenges and past experience, explore identities freely with attention to each person's unique circumstances, identify needs around interpersonal connection and boundaries, understand the impact of systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma, and foster hope for the future. I take my work very seriously, but also naturally use humor as a way to explore and connect. Therapy needs to be a safe space to be messy and broken, but can also be used for playful curiosity and creativity.
