Therapists for college students near New York University
My passion is helping people improve their relationships and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I enjoy working with people who are curious about how they experience the world, and who are facing challenges with major life transitions, relationships, creativity, and gender/sexuality. My approach to treatment is warm and eclectic. Therapy is a space to be curious and challenge yourself without judgment. I hope to engage you in an exploratory process to get to the root of what has been troubling you. People often find themselves caught in longstanding, unconscious patterns that show up in many areas of their lives. By working together to identify what these patterns are and how they do or don't serve you, we can create more space in your life for freedom and choice to live as you desire. Good therapy is most of all about a good fit between you and your therapist. I believe you can best gauge our fit by meeting with me, and so I offer a free 15-minute consultation for you to get a feel for how I work, and to bring forth your questions and concerns. I look forward to getting started!
I tend to work best with college students and young adults who look “high-functioning” on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside. Many of the students I see are smart, reflective, and trying hard — yet struggling with anxiety, mood swings, burnout, panic, or a constant feeling of pressure to perform or hold everything together. You might feel stuck between who you were expected to be and who you’re becoming. You may overthink conversations, feel emotionally exhausted, struggle with motivation, or feel disconnected from yourself or others. Some students I work with have experienced past stress or trauma that still shows up in their body — through anxiety, sleep issues, emotional shutdown, or feeling on edge — even if “nothing bad” seems to be happening now. In therapy, we move at your pace. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear goal right away. My approach is supportive, curious, and collaborative — focused on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface and develop tools that actually feel usable in real life. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, feel less alone, and build steadiness during a demanding and uncertain chapter of life. I will be getting credentialed with additional insurances and accepting private pay-please feel free to check back or reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns.
We are a group of therapists of color in New York, whose approach to therapy is rooted in anti-oppressive philosophy. We are committed to providing trauma-informed, strength-based and culturally affirming treatments that center and value the richness of our clients’ lives. Our goal is to build authentic connections that allow for healing, self-discovery and transformation.
I specialize in supporting young adults and college students struggling with trauma, C-PTSD, interpersonal concerns, and anxiety. I find having a deep understanding of your own story helps you to feel more secure in your identity, equipped to face your challenges, and grounded in your life. Getting to know your story in all its messy, beautiful, and complicated parts is where our therapeutic relationship will begin. I utilize an integrative approach to counseling using Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS), Person-Centered, Realtional, Psychodynamic, & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Based on how our relationship develops, I will pull from these theories to best support our work together depending on your needs. Through these modalities, we can help you stand authentically in your story, in all of its parts, and feel empowered in continuing it. Sharing your life with a stranger can feel vulnerable, risky, and uncertain. My goal is to help you feel, heard, seen, and empowered in the counseling space so that I can meet you where you are and help you attain your goals.

I provide a safe, accepting environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in the process of healing and becoming the best versions of themselves. My clients are resilient- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time is exhausting, and it's okay to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving. My clients achieve a healthier relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.
We are often engaging in life through the means that we have been taught by all of those who have come before us. Life has become a perpetual cycle where bliss, peace, harmony, and all of the other facets that make life worth living seem to escape us more and more. Instead, we are trapped in depression, anxiety, distrust, judgment and more often than not our physical temples are suffering. Collectively, a shift in perception is needed. This starts with the individual. Traditional integrative psychotherapy infused with an array of healing modalities intuitively tailored to your specific needs. The sessions can include Kundalini yoga and Meditation, Energetic Clearing, Light Language, Shadow Work Healing, Ancestral Clearing, Womb Activation Healing & Cosmic Coding. If you do not have self –awareness; if you do not bask in your own love, if you are running on autopilot and have no INNERstanding- the world around you will reflect this. Your life is your classroom it is perfectly woven to bring you back to you. No exceptions. Take the time to be in relationship with self and know that all else will follow.
I’m a licensed psychotherapist (LCSW) and former corporate attorney, now based in New York City. I work with students, young professionals, and emerging leaders who often feel capable and accomplished on the outside but unsettled or stuck internally. I provide depth-oriented, relational therapy, helping clients explore patterns in relationships, identity, and emotional life. My work is informed by attachment, parts-based approaches (IFS), and somatic awareness, with extensive experience supporting trauma survivors. In our work together, I aim to create a reflective, safe space where you can explore what’s really behind the surface of your experiences, without manuals, homework, or pressure. I pay close attention to the relational dynamics between us, while giving you room to wander and discover. I work with adults, couples, and emerging adults, and I also facilitate two small support groups: one for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse and one for new therapists navigating their early clinical work.
You built a life and career by being the reliable one. The strong and independent one. The high-performer. Now you wake up tired, restless, and questioning who you are beneath the grind. I work with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Adult Children of Immigrants navigating burnout, complex trauma, perfectionism, anxious stress, and identity conflict who feel lost in this stage of life and want to reconnect with themselves. Clients often say they are overwhelmed, stuck in overthinking, shutting down in relationships, or carrying stress in their body. Through trauma focused therapy, we explore the parts of you shaped by survival, family expectations, culture, and attachment. I integrate somatic work, IFS, CBT, and liberation based therapy to build awareness, emotional inner balance, and boundaries that reflect your values. As a 1st generation Haitian and Black therapist I know reaching out can feel loaded when you are used to handling everything alone. You do not have to justify needing support. I offer a 20 minute phone or video consultation to explore fit and help you take a steady first step toward change.

I believe in community care, liberation, growth, joy, resilience, healing, and justice. The trauma we experience can make us feel so disconnected and dissociated while also craving connection and warmth. I am here to invite and support you in exploring connections to yourself, your communities, and the world around you. Through understanding our intersectional identities, we can start to process and unpack the ways we struggle to show up for ourselves and each other. Healing is a process that takes time, authenticity, and gentle care. My experiences and work are shaped by my identities, how I create and sustain joy, and community. I find it incredibly fulfilling to continuously build relationships through empathy, curiosity, and compassion. My areas of focus include trauma, relationships, life transitions, grief, polyamory/non-monogamy, kink/BDSM, and other alternative lifestyles. I am a queer, trans/nonbinary, neurodivergent, 2nd generation Chinese American. My approach is rooted in liberation and relational work through anti-oppressive and social justice lenses. Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit.
