I take a person-centered approach to therapy. You, the client, are totally in charge of where this journey takes us. I believe that the core of successful therapy is in the bond between client and therapist. As such, I always meet my clients where they are at and work to build a strong relationship through genuine and honest conversations. I am skilled in CBT/DBT, and I hold a certification in Clinical Trauma Treatment (CCTP). Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults to build introspection, curiosity, and compassion in order to address their concerns with anxiety, depression, and trauma. Listen, life can get really messy, so let's dig in together. Because you are worthy of growth and change and happiness.

Starting college is a major transition, and it can bring a mix of excitement, pressure, stress, and uncertainty. You may find yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to navigate relationships, academics, and the growing expectations of independence. I work with students to better understand their emotional experiences, build confidence, and develop more effective ways of managing stress. Together, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, more connected, and better able to navigate both your inner world and your relationships. I am also licensed to provide comprehensive in-person testing. This may be for your personal understanding of yourself or it could be to support applications for accommodations for academic work at your college or for standardized testing (e.g. GRE, LSAT, MCAT etc).

I view the therapeutic relationship as similar to canoeing - it requires you to provide the steering, while I supply the momentum, and motivation and commitment from both of us to get to the destination. In our work together, I believe in giving you space to explore your story, as it was, as it is, as you want it to be, in a safe, supportive, empowering way that will, in time, allow you to feel confident and secure within your mind, body, and relationships. Within my practice, I utilize eco-therapy as a means to build an objective, curious, and comfortable relationship with the physical world around us, in order to practice building that same relationship within ourselves and with the people around us. It can feel so easy to get swept up in judgemental, shame-based thoughts, creating false perceptions, emotional pain and isolation. And yet, in the same way we prepare for cold winter nights or sweltering summer heat, so too can we weather the storms of our social and emotional worlds. To orient our work towards achieving your therapeutic goals, I work with Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, existential therapy, somatic therapy, animal therapy, ecotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, CBT and mindfulness practices. Utilizing this interdisciplinary blend we can identify and work through the obstacles to then find ways to move forward and love yourself into creating your ideal reality. I accept individuals, couples and families of all genders, identities, religions, and backgrounds. With a client-centered approach I believe you are the greatest expert of your own life, and in order to effectively row this canoe I ask for trust, honesty, commitment, curiosity, and engagement, so I, in return, will provide compassion, patience, knowledge, and reflection.

Are you navigating life between two worlds, balancing family and cultural expectations with your own sense of self? Perhaps you're a child of immigrants, first-generation, or someone far from home asking deeper questions about who you are and where you belong. I'm a bilingual (English/Tagalog) psychotherapist specializing in depth-oriented, Jungian therapy. I work with Filipino Americans, Asian Americans, immigrants, and first-generation individuals doing the meaningful, sometimes difficult work of building an authentic identity, one that honors where they come from while making room for who they are becoming. My approach is exploratory and relational. Drawing from Jungian psychology, psychodynamic therapy, and somatic awareness, I work with the unconscious patterns, cultural conditioning, and intergenerational stories that shape your present life. This includes dream work, active imagination, and close attention to the body's wisdom alongside the mind's. If this resonates, I'd love to connect. I offer a free 15-minute consultation — reach out and let's talk. I also offer Walk & Talk therapy for clients in the Cupertino and Silicon Valley area - sessions conducted outdoors in nature for those who find that movement supports their process. Ask me about it when you reach out.

I specialize in working with people in their teens and twenties, especially LGBTQ+ folks, and those struggling with self-esteem and overwhelming emotions. Whether you’re seeking to build coping skills for increased emotional balance, improve communication in your close personal relationships, or untangle deep-seated patterns that are holding you back — I can help. I'm not here to tell you what to do or how to do it, but I will listen closely, help you see yourself more clearly, and support you in making the changes you want to make. My style is warm, nonjudgmental, grounded, and collaborative. Because the relationship between therapist and client is the greatest predictor of positive outcomes, I will invest time in gaining your trust and building rapport in order for you to feel as comfortable and safe as possible. Please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

When facing life's difficult challenges, it is good to know that there are places that you can turn to for help and guidance. However, finding a gay therapist can be anxiety producing because when people decide they would benefit from seeing a therapist, they are often experiencing significant upset in their lives. This is usually not the ideal moment to be dealing with the stress involved in finding someone with whom it feels safe and right to be vulnerable. I am aware of this and I want you to know that when we meet you will find yourself in a comfortable setting where you will be able to tell your story in strict confidence and without the worries of judgment or pressure of any type. We will discuss what you are interested in working on and how I will be able to help you. There will be no pressure to make any decisions or commitments. . I believe that therapy is a tool for fixing interpersonal problems, helping with painful life situations, tackling the "tough stuff", helping fine tune relationships, and getting back on the road to success in life. The clients with whom I work tend to seek a better understanding of their coping mechanisms, relationship patterns, and self-limiting beliefs. I often work with college and graduate students that struggle with negative beliefs related to their capabilities and worthiness. I help clients to explore how past experiences have contributed to developing coping mechanisms, such as persistent worry, perfectionistic tendencies, and hypervigilance in social situations, that may have been helpful in the past but are no longer serving them in the present.
