Therapists for college students near New York, NY
Life can be overwhelming, especially when you're juggling academics, relationships, and personal growth all at once. Sometimes, you just need a safe and confidential space to process your emotions and navigate life’s complexities. At my group practice, we have a team of skilled therapists dedicated to supporting you. Whether you’re a college student struggling with self-confidence, stress, and anxiety about the future, a young adult facing relationship or family challenges, or someone coping with loss or past trauma, we’re here to help. We specialize in trauma treatment, substance use, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and relationship concerns. Our team has extensive experience working with young adults, helping to strengthen self-image, improve communication, and develop healthy coping strategies. No matter what you’re facing, we tailor our approach to meet your unique needs and goals. Together, we’ll work toward recognizing your needs, setting healthy boundaries, and fostering personal growth.
Maybe you feel weighed down by anxiety, depression, or overwhelming life transitions. Perhaps you’re struggling with relationship difficulties, unresolved trauma, or the pressure of constant change. You might long for healthier connections, steadier emotions, or simply the ability to breathe without feeling on edge. My clients come to therapy seeking relief, understanding, and growth. They want to feel calmer in their daily lives, more confident in their choices, and more connected in their relationships. Most of all, they want to stop feeling stuck and start moving forward with clarity and strength.
As students or professionals, it is more common than we recognize to be depleted by our daily routine, school or family; to experience self doubt, become overwhelmed or to live with ongoing stress/trauma. Without an opportunity for mental restoration we can become burnt out or disconnected by persistent feelings of depression, anxiety, frustration, apathy, grief or even chronic pain and illness. My aim for each client is to help you develop a greater sense of self-awareness, balance and control over your life. Even if you aren't quite sure of what it is you need - we'll figure it out together. I use a mixture of mixture of traditional therapeutic approaches and Nature Based Therapy (NBT), done either outdoors or in combination with telehealth. This could look as simple as a walk in a park or with more, immersive sensory experiences in nature to get your body in motion and feeling more alive. The ultimate goal is to reduce stress and increase your social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience providing therapy to clients aged 12 and older. I specialize in supporting individuals facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Together, we work towards achieving your therapeutic goals.
Depression and anxiety can strike at any age. But understanding the developmental challenges our clients are facing, regardless of what life stage they are in, is fundamental to our approach. College students face an enormous array of stressors as they are learning to live independently, separating from home and family, figure out who they are and what they want to be, establishing or navigating new social groups, starting/searching for/ending significant romantic relationships, managing heavy workloads, or simply dealing with the pressure to excel. We are here to help you navigate these very real stressors, to empathize and to teach you skills to address the depression and/or anxiety these stressors can cause.
If you're someone who feels better after talking things through—those who find relief in external processing and venting—you're in the right place. Many of my clients come to me because they feel the need to keep their feelings and thoughts bottled up around friends and family, out of fear of judgment or being a burden. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely. My approach is laid-back and conversational. I’m here to listen, ask questions, and engage in real, down-to-earth discussions. Humor and genuine interactions are part of how I create a comfortable space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. I work with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, school/career stress, or communication challenges with family members. Clients often tell me that our work together helps them better regulate their emotions, respond to challenges with greater ease, set healthier boundaries, and improve their self-esteem. My therapeutic style is collaborative and non-judgmental, focusing on creating a space where you feel supported and understood. Reach out to see if we may be a good fit!

Overall, many of us are just trying to find more peace, a greater understanding of ourselves and increased confidence in our ability to manage stressors and life events as they come our way. My hope is to help people identify barriers to progress and develop helpful strategies so that they can feel more content and functional in their every day lives. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you via a free phone consultation. Feel free to contact me via phone or email to set up an appointment.
Counseling works best when the focus is on getting back to yourself. It is a space to seek guidance, introspection, and wellness all geared around your own unique strengths, interests, and needs. Counseling is not about "fixing" you, it's about exploring and connecting with your own capabilities to bring you the wellness you deserve. When I work with clients it's important to guide you down your own path of wellness and to use my skills and expertise to help you embody your own power to heal. Through narrative and mindfulness based approaches we will work together to connect to your emotions and learn from your own self what it is you need to thrive. With over a decade of experience working in the mental health field in a variety of settings, I have gathered wisdom and knowledge from a variety of frameworks, such as person centered care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and crises and stress management, to address a variety of concerns such as trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, personal identity, goal setting, sexuality, grief, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, mind-body healing and so much more.
I specialize in working with young adults navigating anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism and relationship challenges. You might be feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, even if things look “fine” on the outside. Maybe you find yourself constantly taking care of others while your own needs go unmet. My goal is to offer a space where you feel seen and supported as you explore patterns that are keeping you stuck and reconnect with what matters most to you.
I have clinical experience at a large university counseling center in New York, and my time there made me realize how much I like working with college students of all kinds. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing adjustment issues, relationship distress, stress-related problems, trauma effects, depression and mood dysregulation, and life transitions. I emphasize an integrative, eclectic approach to healing and wellness that includes psychodynamic psychotherapy and mind/body awareness. I'll help you explore feelings, sensations, and past experiences, making sense of what we discover and creating the changes necessary for a more vibrant life.
