I founded Keshet Counseling to support individuals who often feel overlooked or misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces. My work is especially meaningful to those navigating the complexities of chronic illness, such as Lyme Disease, Mold Toxicity, MCAS, and other invisible disabilities, as well as those facing antisemitism or discrimination for not aligning with political or institutional expectations. I also work closely with teens and adults dealing with antisemitism, narcissistic abuse, multicultural identity issues, codependency, love addiction, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. My approach is rooted in body centered somatic psychology using mindfulness. We’ll explore unconscious beliefs and patterns shaping your experience by noticing whats happening for you in this moment. I hold a humanistic view of healing: I believe you are already whole, worthy, and deeply capable of transformation. My role is to help reconnect you to your own inner knowing, and I view our relationship as a collaborative space where your voice and wisdom lead the way. I don’t believe there’s something wrong with you, rather, what happened to you.

My counseling approach is collaborative, genuine, and relational. I approach counseling with an unconditional positive regard for my clients. My clients would describe my style as down to earth and relatable. I strive to create an atmosphere that is safe and free of judgement so that you feel comfortable discussing difficult topics. College is a time of huge transitions, and it’s easy to feel anxious, stressed, or unsure where you stand. If you're struggling with overwhelming worry (anxiety), feeling stuck after a tough transition (like starting school or a breakup), grappling with past trauma, or just trying to figure out challenging relationships, you've come to the right place. Your Therapy, Your Tools My practice is built on the belief that you already have what you need within you (though it may not feel like it, right now) —we just need to clear out all the noise and find and focus on what actually works for you. We'll ease your mind: We use practical, science-backed strategies to help you unhook from negative thought spirals and calm that constant feeling of being "on edge." We'll discover and heal the root causes : We'll gently explore the "parts" of you that are feeling anxious, unclear, or worn out, and use powerful processing methods to reduce the intensity of recent or past trauma or fear (like EMDR and IFS). We'll help you adjust: Whether you're dealing with the stress of major life transitions or trying to set healthier boundaries in relationships, we'll create space for you to process the change and build a stronger sense of self. We'll get you grounded: I integrate the calming power of nature-based tools (in or out of the office) to help your nervous system slow down, allowing you to find a peaceful space even when deadlines are looming. We’ll work together, at your own pace, to move you from feeling overwhelmed to thriving on campus and beyond. Ready to take a breath and start building a college experience that feels authentic and manageable? Let's connect.

I use a relational approach to helping clients explore their challenges and their strengths in a supportive and non-judgmental space where we work together to reach their goals. Whether it is anxiety, adjusting to recent changes or other issues to bring you to seek help, we can work it out together.

Hi there! I'm Sarah, an artist, art therapist and mental health counselor. Talking to a new person about the hards parts of your life can feel deeply vulnerable! Whether it’s coming to therapy for the first time, returning after a break, or transitioning therapists, I understand the bravery and inner strength that reaching out for help requires. I aim to make the process of coming to therapy easy by making folks feel respected, safe, and understood. I provide space where people can be human, laugh/cry, share truths, and practice new skills. I try to be a person first in therapy by putting the therapy relationship at the forefront. People find my style is warm, funny, caring, and open. I am passionate about working with folks experiencing: Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OC-Spectrum), Parenting & Family Concerns, and Trauma. In my practice, I work hard to individualize a combination of evidence based treatments and expressive therapies to meet the needs and interests of the person. I integrate and individualize use of a few frameworks: Art Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure & Response Prevention, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Compassion Focused Therapy. See my website for more information or instagram page to learn more about my way of practicing: @saywithsarah I’m accepting telehealth clients ages 13+ and am an out-of-network provider but can help you submit claims through your insurance for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.

It is during these challenges, that a trusting relationship with a counselor can give the dynamic support, to sort through our thinking, feeling, and patterns of behavior. Through this mindful work we may begin to see ourselves and our options in a new way. You look like you have it together but inside you are exhausted, overwhelmed, or just quietly struggling in ways nobody around you seems to notice. The students I work with have often been carrying something heavy for a long time: anxiety that won't quit, a past they can't stop thinking about, or a pattern of burning out no matter how hard they try to keep up. Some are high achievers who look completely fine on the outside while feeling overwhelmed or empty on the inside. Others are navigating something that happened earlier in life that is finally surfacing now that they have space to breathe. Many of my clients have tried talking about their problems before and felt like it helped in the moment but didn't really change anything. That's because some of what we carry doesn't live in our thoughts. It lives in the nervous system, in the body, in patterns wired into the brain long before we had words for them. I use approaches, such as EMDR and IFS, that work directly with the brain and body, not just the thinking mind, which is why clients often notice real shifts after feeling stuck for years. You don't need to have it figured out before we talk. You just need to be curious about why you keep feeling the way you do, and open to the idea that something can actually shift. If you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, trauma, depression, difficult relationships, or a general sense that something is off and you can't quite name it, you are probably in the right place.

Between managing classes, relationships, future plans, and daily responsibilities, it’s easy to feel stressed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Wanting to implement change in your life or relationships can feel challenging and overwhelming. Acknowledging that we are in a place where talking to a therapist seems helpful is an act of courage and also provides some relief that we are taking steps to help ourselves with the difficulties that arise in life. I believe we all story our lives against the backdrop of our personal discourse, family discourse, and societal discourse. Some of the stories we identify with have been beneficial yet others have been less helpful or even hinder us to reach the happiness and contentment we seek.
