ABOUT MAIN LINE THERAPY Hi, I am Jen, founder and primary Clinician of Main Line Therapy Center. I am certified in Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy and have extensive knowledge, training, and experience in Brain Based Trauma Informed Care working with children and adolescents. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years’ hands-on experience with children, adolescents, and families. I combine a customized variety of evidence-based techniques and skills to create growth and healing in my healing and treatment with individuals and families. I work closely with parents to support their unique individual child and family by helping them better understand brain development, patterns and to promote change.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who likes to provide a positive and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves and recognize their own power for change. Through my time in the mental health field, I have learned the importance of meeting a client where they’re at in their treatment process and supporting them in their personal goals. I like providing a relaxed therapeutic environment through therapeutic activities and sometimes even light humor. I typically use a combination of family systems theories and motivational interviewing. Through the use of a systemic approach, it allows me to connect with my clients and understand their family system and communication patterns. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to support clients in addressing trauma. Outside my role as a therapist I enjoy spending time with my husband, new daughter and rescue dog, especially taking walks and exploring new places. I also love traveling, challenging myself with Peloton classes and playing volleyball. When it is time to relax, I like watching Netflix, Disney+ and reality shows.

I believe that everyone deserves the chance to flourish in life. Life throws us curveballs, often causing us to lose sight of who we are and what we need to feel worthy and successful. My main priority with clients is to create a safe space, free from judgment and criticism. I utilize a multitude of counseling theories in my work, but always practice from a client-centered foundation, in which I work to empower my clients to take an active role in their treatment. I believe there is value in collaboration, and I want to work together to navigate through the challenges that come up. Growing up as a competitive athlete, I experienced firsthand the impact that academic and athletic pressures can have on the body and mind. I played Division I soccer at the collegiate level, and therefore, have a speciality of working with athletes. I use my personal experiences with mental health to connect authentically with clients.

Therapy is more about building new associations, making new, healthier default pathways. It is almost as if therapy is taking your two-lane dirt road and building a four-lane freeway alongside it. The old road stays, but you don’t use it much anymore. Therapy is building a better alternative, a new default. And that takes repetition, and time, honestly, it works best if someone understands how the brain changes. This is why understanding how trauma impacts our health is essential for everyone.” ~ Dr. Bruce Perry I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience in various mental health settings such as Outpatient facilities, Inpatient hospitals, Crisis Center, but mainly in public and private alternative school settings.
