I like to work with children, teens, and young adults with mental and behavioral health disorders after being emersed in the public school system for the past decade. Building a rapport and seeing my patients' confidence grow as their condition improves is my 'why'. Helping children and young adults learn how to recognize, manage, and cope with their symptoms as they progress into adulthood to live a peaceful, meaningful life is my goal.

Over the past 30 years I’ve developed a psychotherapeutic approach that integrates psychoanalytic principles with insights of Eastern mindfulness traditions. Having trained, taught, and worked in various college counseling centers in Pittsburgh for many years, I’ve focused my private practice on the mental health concerns of young adults, including struggles with depression, anxiety, gender identity, sexuality, family, relationships, and acculturation.

Hi, I'm Ashley! Please feel free to self schedule or send an inquiry on my website for a consult or appointment. I work best with students who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, perfectionism, and constant overthinking. You might find yourself spiraling with “what if” thoughts, feeling like nothing you do is ever good enough, or stressing nonstop about exams, relationships, or the future. Some students I support struggle with panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, or relationship anxiety (like ROCD), which can feel isolating and confusing. Whether you're avoiding work because of fear of failure, checking things over and over, or feeling mentally exhausted from managing school and life, it doesn't have to stay this way. I help students break free from these patterns using active, evidence-based therapy. Together, we’ll build tools to quiet your inner critic, manage stress, and get back to living fully, not just surviving college. Virtual and in-person sessions are available. I’m here to support you in showing up for the life you want.

Welcome! I’m so glad you're here. We may not know each other yet, but I want you to know that I believe in your strength. Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many people on their healing journeys—especially women just like you, who are navigating the ups and downs of relationships, healing from trauma, and learning how to trust themselves again. Through my work, I’ve learned one important thing: healing doesn’t just mean surviving—it means thriving. With the right support, tools, and a safe space to be vulnerable, you can break through the limits of your past and create a life that feels authentic, empowered, and full of possibility. I know college life can feel like a whirlwind—juggling friendships, relationships, academics, and personal growth all at once. It’s a lot. But you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to support you as you navigate these challenges, whether that’s working through past trauma, navigating complicated relationships, or simply learning to love and trust yourself again. Your journey is uniquely yours, and it’s possible to turn your pain into power. I deeply believe that true transformation happens when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable. That’s when we open up the possibility for real change and growth. If you're ready to explore what that could look like for you, I’m here to guide you. Let’s walk this path together. If you're feeling stuck, unsure, or just need someone to talk to, reach out. Let's talk about how we can work together to help you feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to your true self.

You’re motivated, emotionally intelligent, and highly self-aware, but OCD, ADHD, Trauma and big emotions stop you from thriving. And you’re sick of it. You want to go through your day without intrusive thoughts getting in the way. You want to break cycles and heal from you and your family’s pasts. You want to create new systems that work for you. And let's be honest, rarely are we taught how to tolerate or regulate our emotions. I'm here to help. I understand the struggles of living neuro-spicy and many of the treatments I have learned and utilize have benefited me as well. I am experienced with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, and appreciate the mixture of things needed to support ADHD. Whenever you're ready, reach out. I'll be happy to chat, answer questions or help connect you with the right person if I'm not it. Life is challenging and trying to figure out who you are, where you are going and what your purpose is, is hard enough. Then we throw in friendships, romantic relationships, careers and family dynamics and we can get overwhelmed so easily. In therapy we work together to find clarity. I have significant experience helping young adults in their 20s and 30s to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression by exploring relationship and work difficulties, figuring out adulthood, and navigate feeling lost amongst your peers. I work with college students and young professionals navigating young early adulthood. Where we go in therapy depends on you. I take my expertise and knowledge and tailor it to meet your personal needs and what would bring you relief. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which is rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion with a focus on living a life that makes you feel fulfilled. Whether this is your first time looking for a therapist or you've traveled down this road before, good for you. Asking for help requires courage. If you are looking to work with a therapist that will be interactive, non-judgmental, empathic and kind, reach out to see if we are a good fit. We will set up at 10minute call to see if we are good fit!

College is an exciting time though it can be an overwhelming one as well. College comes with its own unique set of challenges - increased workload, the need for greater time management, increased independence, and trying to find a good work-life balance, to name a few. College life can bring on new anxiety or exacerbate pre-existing anxiety, and managing this and coping in healthy and effective ways can prove difficult at times. Anxiety and stress can also trigger new or worsen pre-existing Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), like excoriation disorder (skin picking) and trichotillomania (hair pulling). If you are a female student struggling with anxiety and need help managing it, and/or are having a difficult time with BFRBs, I would love to work with you. Together we will work on identifying stressors/triggers as well as strategies and skills you can use to better manage your anxiety and/or your BFRB. I look forward to meeting you!
