Therapists for college students near Austin, TX
Hi, I'm an LPC-Associate at Alive Austin. I work well with college students experiencing stressors and stages commonly faced during this period: life transitions, depression, anxiety, relational concerns, family conflict, or unprocessed childhood trauma. Many of my clients may struggle with boundaries, people pleasing, and navigating their new roles and responsibilities living on their own for the first time. Many people I see have also put off working though painful or significant experiences from their past that are still impacting them presently. I aim to help you build self-awareness, discard what is no longer serving you, and start finding fulfillment in life. I am currently unable to accept insurance as an LPC-Associate in Texas. I try to accommodate to students' needs by offering sliding scales. I also offer free consultations so there is not initial cost until you feel we're a good fit.

Welcome to the beginning of your therapeutic journey. My name is Alexandra Gomez but you can call me Alex! I am a Latina LPC-Associate who is bilingual in Spanish and English. As humans, we are constantly challenged by the imperfections and expectations of society. It can be confusing, discouraging, and at times can dim the light within us. Investing in ourselves is the best way to overcome these challenges and learn more about our thoughts, behaviors, beliefs, and values. Whether you are beginning or continuing services, I am so glad you have made this decision to invest in yourself and grow in multiple aspects of the human experience. I hope that you find my bio to be a good fit for your therapeutic needs.
Hi there. I work with teens and adults through complex trauma, relationships, life transitions, grief, anxiety and depression (to name a few). I also work with the marginalized in our communities, BIPOC, disabled, persons with chronic/rare illness and LGBTQ+. My practice is open to all. If you are feeling stuck or unsure about your next steps, I can help. I practice by getting in touch with our nervous systems as we navigate life's hardships. I use emotionally focused therapy and some somatic work. Get in touch should you need an empathetic person to walk side by side with you or if you would like to gain skills to help communicate with others.
I'm Eloise and I help college students navigate the tough stuff. Whether it's stress from school, anxiety, identity exploration, relationships, or feeling stuck, you don't have to figure it all out alone. I create a space where you can vent, process and grow--without judgement. I get that college is a time of major transition and pressure. My style is collaborative, down-to-earth, and focused on what you need--whether that's coping strategies, deeper self-awareness, or just someone who really listens. Let's talk about what's going on, what's holding you back, and how we can get you feeling more like yourself.
College life should be an exciting and challenging time. Becoming more independent and living away from home is a significant life transition. Enjoying this newfound autonomy while adjusting to college life can bring about a whole range of challenges, such as alcohol/substance abuse, academic stress, relational stress, neurodivergent issues, identity development, anxiety, social isolation, depression, trauma and many others. As a former Texas University graduate, former counselor of college students, and a parent of a college graduate, I am familiar with many of the issues facing today's students and passionate about helping young adults navigate this important chapter of their lives.
I am a white, queer, fat, disabled, AuDHD, genderfluid therapist based in Houston, Texas. I specialize in working with clients exploring their gender, sexual, or romantic identity, polyamory/relationship anarchy, late-diagnosed Autism or ADHD, adults seeking support around chronic pain and illness, and processing trauma. I am passionate about LGBTQ+ rights (and human rights in general), intersectional feminism, anti-racism, and dismantling systems of oppression. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, built on mutual respect and authenticity. You know more about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences than anyone else—my role is to provide a safe, supportive, non-judgmental place for you to process your emotions and create a path moving forward. My therapeutic approach will vary from person to person depending on individual need and unique lived experience. I often use a blend of somatic work and mindfulness paired with consent-based, feminist, narrative, trauma-informed, neurodiverse-informed, emotionally focused therapies. I primarily work with adults in individual and group therapy.

Welcome! I am a Judi Yapias board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and I specialize in intergenerational trauma and understanding how trauma and stress affect the body. To better understand what your body is signaling, I integrate modalities in my practice such as mindfulness-based therapy, somatic techniques, and trauma-conscious approaches. This is an impactful approach to better understanding big and uncomfortable emotions, what the body is communicating, and those teeny, tiny voices of intuition telling us something is off. My goal is to help you begin the process of understanding and connecting with yourself on a deeper level. We’ll work on building trust between your head and heart and explore all the things about your life - cultural identity, relationships, behaviors, values, feelings, and belief systems. Together, we’ll create a foundation that empowers you to feel more integrated and aligned. Specialties Mental Health Conditions treated Relationship issues Trauma Anxiety ADHD Depression Treatment philosophy Whether you may be experiencing BIG feelings, interpersonal struggles, or wanting to better understand yourself, I am here to support you using a collaborative approach. Through a guided process and integration of mindfulness-based and trauma-conscious approaches, you and I will talk through your lived experiences. Some of these discussions will give you a sense of joy, sadness, frustration, anxiousness, pride, and excitement. As we dig and uncover these stories in a safe space, we often begin a discovery of your strengths and wisdom - from a present you and intergenerational standpoint.
