Therapists for college students near Houston, TX
My goal is to help clients who have trauma, specifically medical trauma, manage their symptoms and learn how to navigate life again! I am most interested in helping people connect to their mind and body again, so they truly feel like they are living in their bodies and being present. Therapy is a collaborative process, so there is a level of trust that must go into each client and each session. My areas of interest as a counselor are trauma-focused, veterans, medical trauma, depression/anxiety, substance use, and sexual assault survivors.
Hello! I’m Dr. Ryne Pulido. I’m a husband, father, and psychologist in Texas. I’m so excited to help folks build lives experienced as worth living and sharing. I started out as a therapist for children, adolescents, and young adults. Initially, “young adult” referred to college students. Then “young adult” expanded to include medical and law school students. And then it expanded to include early career professionals. Now, it has expanded to early career professionals struggling to #adult. Your struggle is real. Many of my clients struggle with intense emotional pain stemming from feelings of unlovability and fear of rejection. Their pain acts like an emotional dictator that commands them to withdraw from friends, family, work, school, hobbies, passions, interests, and other activities that make life worth living. Increasingly distant from their values (who they want to be deep inside their hearts) and goals (what they want to accomplish), they feel directionless and unsure of their best life because they’re so focused on protecting themselves from emotional pain. If this sounds like you, know it doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve a life worth living and sharing. Imagine what it would be like to control your actions (the things you do and say) amidst an emotional storm. What if you could be the person you want to be and move toward your goals just 20% more often? What would your relationships be like? Where would your career be? How much better would your sleep be?! Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I utilize a modern form of the tried-and-true Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Although ACT involves a radically new approach to happiness, over 1,000 clinical trials have been published in peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating its effectiveness with diverse populations struggling with a wide range of psychological problems. ACT is focused on creating richer, fuller, and more meaningful lives rather than solely symptom reduction. When your life is bigger, the pain is smaller by comparison. ACT is a very active form of therapy. It’s not just talking about your problems and feelings (although there is always space for that). You will learn practical skills to move from struggling to flourishing. We will move through the program step-by-step, learning skills that build on each other. The good news is the skills are easy to learn and effective. You are headed into the unknown. Unfortunately, counseling and therapy is not 100% effective. Although I accept commercial insurance (if you go through Alma) and the Lotus Fund, the risk of committing time, money, effort, and heart to something that doesn’t work out is very real. I also can’t promise that you won’t feel uncomfortable, judged, and misunderstood, but you will have permission to express yourself and stop anything that is uncomfortable. I’ll listen with an open mind and you’re in the driver’s seat. But you are not alone. It’s your journey, but we’re a team—working together to help you become the person you want to be and build the life you want to live and share. All brains matter. I’ve spent my entire professional career working with neurodivergent folks and their families. I have a special place in my heart for ADHDers, autistics, and people with strong personalities. Are you in Texas, prefer virtual care, and ready to get to work? You can contact me by email (admin@rynepulidophd.com) or by calling or texting 512-537-4743. (Note it can take up to 72 hours for me to return a call, email, or text. If you are in a mental health emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest ER). …and if you’re sort of ready that’s cool too. Reach out to me to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation! Need financial help? I offer sliding-scale fee slots via Open Path Collective. These slots are extremely limited, so please get in touch with me before signing up to work with me. I also accept the Lotus Fund via the Asian Mental Health Collective.
Hi, I am Dani Manetta, LCSW—a Marine Corps veteran, therapist, and mom. I work with teens (13+), adults, and families navigating anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges, including co-parenting and blended family dynamics. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I offer structure when it’s needed and space when it’s time to process. Whether you’re a parent worried about your teen or an individual feeling overwhelmed or stuck, I’m here to help you build insight, confidence, and meaningful change. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I bring a mix of evidence-based tools, real-life perspective, and a strong belief that growth happens when we feel truly seen and supported. Whether you’re looking to process past pain, set boundaries, or just find your footing again, I’m here to help you feel more confident, capable, and connected. Whether you’re a teen, an adult, or a parent seeking support, the first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you here, what’s been on your mind or weighing you down, and what you hope to change or better understand. I’ll ask questions to get a fuller picture of your life, relationships, and experiences—but there’s no pressure to share everything at once. I know the first session can feel a little awkward or nerve-wracking, especially if therapy is new. That’s okay. My job is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and judgment-free. We’ll move at your pace, explore what matters most to you, and begin to build a plan together. You won’t leave with all the answers, but you will leave with a sense of clarity, direction, and—hopefully—relief that you’ve taken the first step
Hi! I am excited that you have decided to reach out for help. My name is Dr. T. Navigating through life is already difficult and the pressure that comes with being a college student can make things harder. I too had to go through this stage in life. There are many things that have changed since I was a college student, however, there are many similarities between our experiences. Worrying about your grades, peer pressure, drugs and alcohol, issues at home with parents/caregivers, siblings and other family members, and your identity of simply trying to find out who you are is overwhelming. All these things can be scary, confusing, and even frustrating. The good news is that you don't have to go through the process alone. I can help and you can find comfort in knowing that what is said in my office, stays in office. As a professional I have had the opportunity to work in the military, daycare facilities, a community health center, a methadone clinic, parish jail, elementary and high school settings and private practice. My experience has prepared me to deal with a variety of issues and concerns while using an eclectic approach. I have gained an understanding that there is no cookie cutter way for every person. Everyone is unique even if they share similar experiences. Personally, I have dealt with family issues such as child abuse and neglect, psychological illnesses, drug and alcohol addictions, adoption, crimes consisting of theft and murder, and losing family members to the state's system. I have also had the experience of managing life while being the wife of an airman and a soldier in the US Army. These life experiences remind me that nobody asks for things to go wrong in their lives. It also helps me to remain humble because at any moment it could be me. Celebrate yourself in taking the first step to a new life that gains you the freedom you deserve. Keep in mind that although I am the professional you are the expert on your life. Together we will use your hope to effect change.
Life transitions can be tough, especially when navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, or other challenges. Whether you're adjusting to a new phase of life, struggling with focus, motivation, or emotions, you're not alone. I'm Kate, an LCSW, and I specialize in helping adults build structure, confidence, and coping skills. Together, we'll find strategies tailored to your unique needs. If you're feeling stuck, stressed, or uncertain, therapy can help you regain control and move forward with clarity. I believe therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, so I tailor my methods to each individual. Using strengths-based approaches, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I help clients build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and work toward meaningful change. Outside of my work, I enjoy training my dogs, cooking, and reading to stay balanced. Taking the first step is tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. Whether managing ADHD, anxiety, or life transitions, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to create real change and build the life you want. Reach out today to schedule a session and start your journey toward clarity, confidence, and balance. I look forward to connecting with you!

I specialize in working with Adolescents, young adults, and middle-aged adults; struggling with anxiety and depression, communication issues, and trauma survivors. Whether you are dealing with a specific issue or looking for support on your journey of personal growth, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore, heal, and grow. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Together, we'll work to build new tools and create meaningful change. My role is to walk alongside you- offering tools, insights, and support- as you explore what's no longer serving you and move toward the life you want to create. Therapy with me is not about "fixing" you- because you are not broken. It's about uncovering your strengths, understanding your story with compassion, and creating space for growth, clarity, and lasting change. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that our first session is all about creating a comfortable, safe space for you to begin your journey. During our initial session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to work on, and any important background that can help me support you effectively. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right—we’ll move at your pace. We’ll also talk about how I work, answer any questions you have about the therapy process, and start to outline some goals or intentions for our work together. This session is more about building connection and clarity than diving into deep work right away. Above all, my goal is to make you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning. Whether you’re brand new to therapy or returning after some time away, this is your space—and I’m here to meet you exactly where you are.

Others may think you have it together, but on the inside, you’re falling apart. It feels like you can’t keep up with life’s changes, but it’s so hard to ask for help! Life feels out of control, causing you to feel lost, overwhelmed, unfulfilled, and stuck. You are not alone! I work with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and chronic illnesses. College-age young adults experience their own unique challenges. In a time of new independence and exploration, there can be a lot of pressure and expectations on young adults to have their lives “figured out”. You may experience difficulties adjusting to a new environment and the challenges that come with that, such as moving away from home, managing your college course load, making friends, etc. Young adulthood also brings about new responsibilities related to school, work/career, and finances, like maintaining your own schedule and paying bills. Many of the college students I work with are dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, relationship issues, stress management, among other challenges. I provide young adult clients with the space to process and unpack their challenges, establish a trustworthy therapeutic relationship, and support them in building up their ability to cope with stress, understand their emotions, and meet their needs.
