Therapists for college students near Rice University
Life often asks women to hold so much—caring for others, navigating relationships, balancing responsibilities, and carrying silent struggles that can feel overwhelming. If you’ve been moving through an eating disorder, body image concerns, grief, trauma, fertility challenges, or simply the load of expectations, you deserve a place that feels safe, affirming, and collaborative. In our work together, you’ll find space to be fully seen and supported, with compassion guiding every step as you reconnect with your strength, your voice, and your true self. I offer a compassionate, collaborative space where honesty, care, and curiosity guide our work. Rather than quick fixes, I help you slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with parts of yourself that feel lost. Together, we’ll build safety and trust while using evidence-based approaches to support meaningful, lasting healing. Here, every part of you is welcome—your questions, your grief, your dreams, and your story. This is a place to release what you’ve been carrying, to feel deeply supported, and to rediscover your resilience. I'll honor your process, creating space for healing, growth, and a return to you, but an updated you that feels in alignment with where you see yourself.
Hi! I’m Katharine. I’m a LCPC now offering video sessions for clients just like you. I help people-pleasers remove fear and dread from their choices so they can FINALLY become CONFIDENT and pursue their real dreams. I help them see that the barriers are passable, and most are self-created. The good news is, if the problems are self-created, you can finally start doing something about it. Your future is in your own hands and that’s empowering. I’ll encourage you to think about a top down approach to getting re-organized and Centered, figuring out what works and what is no longer working for you. We all have to retool our efforts, pivot and re-pivot over time if we hope to be continually successful. What worked for you when you when you were 20 is probably not working any more I’ll be in your corner while we figure out what new approaches would work best for you . I like to share outside resources from readings to videos to ideas from all over the web and from the best psychiatrists that have ever lived. So Think about What self-doubt might be costing you,,,,, and sign up to meet with me so we can free up your focus and energy to pursue the life you really want.
I work with young people who are navigating life and its many challenges. I specialize in trauma treatment and in working with difficult and complex situations wherein trauma, development, and mental health converge. My clients tend to have tried counseling and, for various reasons, feel it did not work for them. My clients are often struggling to show up in traditional therapy, feeling trapped in their suffering, frozen and unable to move. I work with them to find personal power and agency over their dissociative tendencies, to find healing and purpose again. I believe everyone can heal in relationship, especially young people.
It has been a privilege to have worked in the social work field for over 13 years in the state of Texas in various settings that have included long-term care, hospital settings, inpatient hospice, home health, foster and adoption, Alzheimer's and dementia care, private practice and now clinical supervision. I received my bachelor's in social work from Texas Woman's University and my master's in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I spent my post-graduate 2-year clinicals preparing to work in private practice and specialize in trauma and serving our veteran population. I am a native Texan who loves being a wife and mother, and I'm an avid nature lover with a passion for animals and for reading! I take the upmost care to provide a warm, caring and judgement-free approach in my treatment. It's daunting to sit with a stranger and discuss painful and sometimes traumatic details, and I strive to provide a safe and comfortable space to every client. I am trained and practiced in using many therapeutic modalities and approaches including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and many more. I place great importance on getting to know you with a comprehensive intake and assessment and appropriate diagnosis. A diagnosis isn't meant to be a label, but it is vital to ensuring that you receive the right therapy modality for your needs. There is no one size fits all approach in therapy!

I am trained in Trauma Focused CBT and utilize approaches from Narrative Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy. I have been in the counseling profession for two years. I was drawn to this line of work after witnessing how powerful connection, trust, and a listening ear can be in helping someone navigate life’s challenges, regardless of age. My experience includes treating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and life transitions. I currently work with individuals 12 years and older and in my free time, I love attending sporting events (Go 'Stros!), live concerts and performances, and listening to a good audiobook or podcast with an iced coffee in hand. A journey towards healing starts with taking that first step. If you have questions or would like to schedule a free brief consultation call to help take that first step towards healing please contact me.
