I have clinical, case management, and life experience and understand the struggles that students have to deal with daily. Hi, I am Heather. I work with clients who feel ready to explore challenges that may be affecting their emotional well-being, relationships, or daily life. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, attachment concerns, family conflict, and life transitions. I also support individuals and families navigating the unique stressors associated with the judicial system. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, improving relationships, and creating meaningful, lasting change. My approach is eclectic and individualized, recognizing that no single method works for everyone. I integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment-based interventions, and other evidence based approaches to meet each client's unique needs. You have already taken an important step by looking for support. I believe healing happens through connection, understanding, and practical change. Together, we will gather an understanding of what limitations and concerns you have surrounding the therapeutic process and work together to build the connection for a positive therapeutic experience.
We all hold the inner knowledge of what is best for our lives but sometimes need a gentle guide to help us find our path. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic space where you will feel comfortable expressing difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences, whether that be through traditional talk therapy, EMDR, psychedelic assisted therapy, or ketamine assisted EMDR. Trauma is not always what happened to you but sometimes what did not happen, such as physical or emotional neglect.
College can intensify pressure to succeed, make the “right” choices, and hold it all together, often alongside anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, relationship issues, or concerns about food, body image, or control. I work with college students and young adults who appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves on the inside. Together, we slow things down, identify patterns that keep you stuck, and build insight and skills that support real, lasting change. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms. I hold the CEDS-C credential, the highest certification in eating disorder treatment, and support students whose anxiety or perfectionism shows up around food, body image, or self-worth. Therapy can be a space to pause, feel understood, and reconnect with what matters most, without having to pretend you’re fine or push through alone.

In today’s fast-paced world, many people are expected to keep pushing forward while quietly carrying the emotional and physical burden of chronic illness. I am passionate about supporting individuals navigating chronic health conditions and the psychological challenges that often accompany them, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relational distress, and disenfranchised grief. I believe in a holistic path to healing; a path where the mind, body and spirit is embraced in the work that we will do together. I primarily use a combination of IFS, mindfulness, SE, hypnotherapy, CBT, ACT, and narrative therapies. Over the last 20 years I have worked extensively in a variety of healthcare settings including long-term care, hospice, and an acute care hospital setting. Recently, I worked as a medical social worker in the ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic where I supported patients and their loved ones in navigating the unknown. I also have experience in supporting those who suffer from more rare illnesses including autoimmune diseases, multiple chemical sensitivities, mast cell activation syndrome, chronic inflammatory response syndrome, and chronic Lyme. Working in a variety of healthcare settings has provided me with a unique lens into the many needs and adversities that individuals encounter in the US healthcare system. Through my experiences I have seen firsthand how connected our minds and bodies are, which led me to study interventions and techniques that can help manage a multitude of symptoms such as anxiety, pain, GI distress, and much more. I also have additional training in trauma-informed care and am now a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I work hard to find the right combination of therapeutic interventions to meet each individual's needs.

The Journey to Your Internal Compass Starts with One Step. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. It takes courage to seek help for personal struggles. Therapy is like having a compass. The compass provides a sense of safety for travelers as they know they can rely on it to always point them in the right direction. With a compass—any compass—we can always pause for a moment in time and take stock of where we are so that we can continue to grow and change. All of us must change course from time to time because what we are doing isn’t working. If you are struggling with addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or trauma, allow me the honor to walk alongside you as you take the steps to the authentic you and discover your internal compass. I use evidence-based treatments tailored to individual needs to help clients attain and maintain long-term sobriety, improve relationships and well-being. I offer a safe and confidential environment on telehealth software. Healing happens within relationships and it's crucial you find a therapist you connect with. Call or email me today. Let’s walk this journey together.

Let’s be real — the state of the world right now is heavy. As if maintaining good mental health weren’t hard enough already, right? I’m here to support with those hard day-to-day challenges, and to help you understand and shift how your past shapes the way you move through the world today. You have a story worth telling, and I want to hear it. My role is to walk beside you — offering perspective, practical tools, and space to heal. I specialize in working with trauma, grief, and anxiety, always guided by mindfulness, compassion, and a holistic perspective on healing. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities including EMDR, Internal family systems (IFS or inner child work), Somatic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I take a creative approach, weaving together tools from each of these modalities to shape a process that truly fits your needs. For more detail on each, check out the image above. Therapy should feel like a space where you’re truly supported. For some, that means sitting on a cozy couch in an office. For others, it might mean walking through a nearby park or connecting virtually from the comfort of home. You know what feels right for you — and I’d be honored to walk alongside you on that path.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with six years of experience, my work is dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and young adults from all backgrounds navigate life's challenges. Whether you're working through trauma, a mental health diagnosis, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, family or social conflict, or a difficult life transition, you don't have to face it alone. My specialties include PTSD and trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, mood disorders, personality disorders, and adjustment disorders. Beyond diagnosis, I also support patients with stress management, self-esteem, social skills, coping skill development, and crisis intervention. Wherever you are in your journey, my goal is to be a compassionate, trustworthy partner who meets you exactly where you are, because you deserve to feel heard, empowered, and confident in your growth. Collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care is at the heart of everything I do. Each of our sessions is built on authenticity and compassion, and I tailor my approach to your unique situation and needs so that what we work on together feels meaningful and relevant to your life. You can expect a space that is nonjudgmental and genuinely supportive. Using an integrated therapeutic approach, we'll work through life's hardships in a way that honors your experiences and builds on your existing strengths. The goal is for you to feel understood, capable, and empowered to create lasting, meaningful change. My path to this work was shaped by a deeply personal experience during graduate school, where I encountered hardship, judgment, and misunderstanding from professional counselors based on my own identities. Rather than diminish my passion, that experience ignited it, clarifying exactly the kind of therapist I wanted to be: one who shows up with full authenticity and compassion for every person who walks through the door. Working with children, adolescents, and young adults has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. These times taught me that even one person, with genuine positivity and empathy, can make a meaningful difference for someone who has never had that kind of relationship before. This belief grounds my work every day. I bring an open-minded perspective to each session because I believe you hold the key to overcoming the challenges you've faced. My role is to walk alongside you as you find it. Outside of sessions, you'll find me coloring, tackling puzzles, playing board games, or heading outdoors for an adventure. Staying active and creative keeps me grounded, and I bring that same energy and curiosity into the care I provide.
I offer individual therapy to adolescents, and adults, as well as couples, and families. I provide traditional talk therapy using various modalities, and am also an EMDR trained practitioner. I am also a supervisor for pre-licensed counselors, so we have lots of availability.

My Approach to Care Working together, you are empowered to heal in an empathetic and welcoming environment tailored to your therapeutic needs. I believe in curiosity, transparency, and collaboration, which helps me be the best counselor I can be for you while ensuring a creative approach grounded in Person-Centered Theory (PCT), with integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectal Behavior Therapy to support your growth and resilience. Christian counseling is also available according to your preferences and goals. I look forward to having the honor of walking through life with you! As an extrovert, I always knew I wanted to work with people, a passion that was strengthened upon witnessing the impact counseling had on our community when my high school endured a school shooting and multiple suicides. Seeing this impact confirmed that becoming a counselor was my calling. This experience, along with many others throughout my life, have deepened my commitment to providing authentic care, with empathy and dependability infused into each session. Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my corgi Peaches, playing golf, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and fueling my extrovert through game nights with friends!
