"It feels like I keep recycling old patterns, year after year." "My mind feels like it is constantly racing and I can’t seem to relax." "Issues from my past are interfering with my present life". I’m so glad you are here. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal. To choose yourself, by seeking out support, is the first step in living a content and fulfilling life. It would be an honor to have the opportunity to get to know you, learn of your unique story, and work together to find relief from the pain you have been experiencing in your daily life. I believe in a holistic and collaborative approach to counseling in which traditional therapeutic intervention can be most effective when coupled with appropriate self-care and meaningful connection to others. I aim to cultivate a warm, accepting, and safe environment to facilitate clients’ inner work and empower them to navigate their life with confidence, peace, and freedom I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is an evidence-based approach to treat a variety of clinical problems, from complex trauma to concerns with self-esteem and relationship stress. With Eye Movement and Desensitization (EMDR) therapy we can reduce and eliminate disturbing symptoms in a shorter period of time, such as feeling tense, recurring self-defeating patterns of behavior that result in conflicts, preoccupation with worries, and sleep disturbances. In addition, you can get relief from unconscious patterns of surviving, such as attachment to substances, people-pleasing, or disordered eating. I may additionally pull from other therapeutic lenses such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) to target unhelpful, critical self-talk, promote mindfulness, establish plans for resolve, and, ultimately, offer clients a sense of relief and empowerment. It would be an honor to have the opportunity to learn of your unique story and work together to find relief from the pain you have been experiencing. I welcome you to reach out by giving me a call or sending me a message.

Therapy is a journey where you learn more about yourself, your internal experience, and your loved ones in order to change your life based on your own goals and values. I can help you and/or other members of your family gain flexibility in your thoughts and actions through experiential skill development. At times, therapy can involve vulnerability and emotional expression; while at other times, it can be playful and enlightening. My goal is to create a warm and safe environment where emotions, thoughts, memories, and other internal experiences can be explored with compassion and understanding. I have experience in treating trauma, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and interpersonal concerns using a variety of evidence based treatments. I have helped children, adolescents, families, parents, and couples approach their concerns from a family systems perspective.

Expect to cooperate in constructing personal goals that accurately reflect your personality and preferences and creating short- and long-term growth strategies. My focus is to develop in-depth understanding of your situation, and I work with you in creating a map of your experiences. Our sessions will include skill development, thought mapping, and rehearsing for real-life situations. My previous career history includes a five-year stint in the US Army as a religious affairs sergeant, outreach and humanitarian work, personal training, research, and addiction treatment. Balancing academic demands, social pressures, and future uncertainties can be overwhelming. My approach to counseling acknowledges the paradoxical nature of our unique experiences of shared, universal occurrences. We live in a stressful world of promise, excitement, strife, and loneliness, and seek to find meaning and security in our journey. Students strive to find meaning and purpose with authenticity, yet find themselves dedicated to balancing social and academic expectations. My mission is not just to counsel but to encourage and empower you to develop insight, clarity, peace, confidence, and connection. I am here to engage you in your world, time, and situation and to journey alongside you as we accomplish your goals. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, life transitions, or a desire for greater fulfillment, I'm here to support you on your journey.
