Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
My goal is to walk alongside my clients as they navigate the unique experience they're currently facing. I strive to create a safe place for individuals to come and share their experience with Grief, Loss, Caregiving, Anxiety, Depression and Life Transitions. I integrate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Person-Centered Therapy throughout the counseling process but may use various theories of therapy to best serve you and your situation. My experience includes working as a Grief Counselor and Support Group Coordinator at a hospice organization, where I was able to support many individuals coping with the significant journey of grief. I understand that grief can be life altering and believe no one should have to go through it alone. I prioritize honesty, compassion, non-judgement, and trust. I'm honored to walk alongside my clients through such significant moments in their lives.
Are you struggling with feelings of disconnection and isolation? Are you too self-critical or perfectionistic and want to work on your self-esteem and sense of self? Do you want to learn how to let go, have fun, and live in the moment? Do you want to get more in touch with your playful and creative inner child? Does the idea of doing improv comedy make you feel nervous, but you’re intrigued? Do you like to laugh? Within a small, supportive group of 4-7 people that meets for eight weeks, you will learn how to be more compassionate towards yourself so that you can feel calmer and more connected to other people, more often! You will practice your self-compassion skills in real-time through tailored improv comedy exercises that are designed to support you on the path toward increasing your self-acceptance and self-confidence. At its core, improv comedy helps you to take risks, make mistakes, and not take yourself so seriously. We will laugh a lot : ) Past clients have said… “I always felt nervous to go, but felt like something had been released after each session." “I love the space to talk about what we are dealing with. I have never been actually excited to go to therapy until finding this group.” "The play and improv was beneficial for my perfectionism because I got to experience just diving into things." "I loved connecting with people who I felt really understood me.” “I am forever changed!”

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with six years of experience, my work is dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and young adults from all backgrounds navigate life's challenges. Whether you're working through trauma, a mental health diagnosis, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, family or social conflict, or a difficult life transition, you don't have to face it alone. My specialties include PTSD and trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, mood disorders, personality disorders, and adjustment disorders. Beyond diagnosis, I also support patients with stress management, self-esteem, social skills, coping skill development, and crisis intervention. Wherever you are in your journey, my goal is to be a compassionate, trustworthy partner who meets you exactly where you are, because you deserve to feel heard, empowered, and confident in your growth. Collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care is at the heart of everything I do. Each of our sessions is built on authenticity and compassion, and I tailor my approach to your unique situation and needs so that what we work on together feels meaningful and relevant to your life. You can expect a space that is nonjudgmental and genuinely supportive. Using an integrated therapeutic approach, we'll work through life's hardships in a way that honors your experiences and builds on your existing strengths. The goal is for you to feel understood, capable, and empowered to create lasting, meaningful change. My path to this work was shaped by a deeply personal experience during graduate school, where I encountered hardship, judgment, and misunderstanding from professional counselors based on my own identities. Rather than diminish my passion, that experience ignited it, clarifying exactly the kind of therapist I wanted to be: one who shows up with full authenticity and compassion for every person who walks through the door. Working with children, adolescents, and young adults has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. These times taught me that even one person, with genuine positivity and empathy, can make a meaningful difference for someone who has never had that kind of relationship before. This belief grounds my work every day. I bring an open-minded perspective to each session because I believe you hold the key to overcoming the challenges you've faced. My role is to walk alongside you as you find it. Outside of sessions, you'll find me coloring, tackling puzzles, playing board games, or heading outdoors for an adventure. Staying active and creative keeps me grounded, and I bring that same energy and curiosity into the care I provide.
Balancing academics, relationships, work, family expectations, and planning for the future can feel like a lot. I enjoy helping college students and young adults navigate stress, anxiety, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm in a supportive and down to earth environment. Together, we can work toward helping you feel more confident, grounded, and connected to yourself.
As a play therapist with six years of experience, I help children, adolescents, and express their feelings in alternative ways without limiting their ability to share their feelings. I believe in empathy at all times, which helps me be your compassionate partner in care. I look forward to identifying your strengths in our work together. With a focus on talk and play therapy, I take an individualized, empathic, and authentic approach to care. I'm passionate about meeting patients where they are and working from there to help them share their feelings and better express themselves. This growth takes place in an open and welcoming environment, with a person-oriented style tailored to your unique perspective and experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began when a coworker sought me out for advice about an interaction she had, wanting additional support to discuss her options and ultimately make a decision she felt was in her best interest. This experience deepened my commitment to providing focused care and attention to each individual, and I bring that same individualized treatment to every patient I work with today. In my spare time, I love getting lost in a good book!
What makes Restoration Psychology different? We know you have various options for treatment providers and therapy. Restoration Psychology is deeply committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive treatment for all people. We strive to help our clients restore mental well being and reduce psychological stress. We know that each individual and family has a unique set of needs and cultural values that can impact treatment. Our clinicians work hard to understand our clients from a bio-psycho-social- spiritual lens. We want to tailor each treatment approach to fit your needs. We are a full-service counseling center specializing in faith-based counseling through a unique bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens aimed at integrating the full self by renewing what has been damaged, revitalizing what has decayed, and rebuilding what has deteriorated. In order to do this, we must explore each aspect of the individual—their physical characteristics (race, ethnicity, health issues etc.), mental/emotional states, relationships with others (including family and community groups), and faith convictions. This allows us to take the first step of the journey toward restoration. Because spiritual belief influences one’s worldview, it also greatly influences the individual and is, therefore, an important aspect to be explored. We promise to work with you where you are, no matter your faith background. We will provide a safe space for you to confront any issues that arise in a judgment-free environment.
Hi, I'm Hilary. I offer a safe and supportive space where college students can feel heard, understood and empowered. College can feel like a rollercoaster. Exciting one minute and overwhelming the next. I get how tough it can be. Whether you're facing academic pressure, social challenges, or navigating the complexities of adult life, I'm here to help you manage anxiety, build resilience and develop tools for a balanced, fulfilling life. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, clarify your goals and create a sense of confidence and calm as you navigate this stage of life.
I work with young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life adjustments, academic/career stress, body image, identity/self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ issues, and sleep issues. I am trained through an eclectic array of therapeutic modalities but often work through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens. When working with sleep issues and insomnia, I am trained in CBT-I (CBT for insomnia). I prioritize meeting every client and family where they are in order to formulate an individualized treatment plan that works best for you. I enjoy genuinely connecting with my clients and their families by leaning on client strengths, values, and the authenticity of the therapeutic relationship. I find it beneficial to bring our personalities and humanness into the therapeutic process to facilitate a safe space for my clients. Life can be really messy and I'm honored to join you in that vulnerability. If it sounds like l might be a good fit for you, please reach out for a consultation! I'd be happy to connect with you.
