My name is Sarah and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado. I help a wide range of students who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-harm and other trauma related symptoms. I am also here to help you through the pressures and obstacles associated with school and becoming an adult. Not everything needs to be diagnosed! Sometimes, we just need someone who can help us navigate through challenges and feelings of loneliness or low self-esteem. There is no reason to feel like you need to go through this alone.

Currently accepting both virtual and in-person clients - Hi there! My name is Lindsey. I primarily come from an attachment-based, relational approach, where what matters most is genuine, authentic connection. A story well told is my favorite piece of the human experience. We all have stories full of what happens to us that is outside of our control as well as how we respond to these experiences that is within our control. As your therapist, my hope is to empower you to become the author of your own story and provide you with the support, guidance, and resources you need to pick up the pen and decide where you're going next. I particularly specialize in: ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders. I also work with those struggling with their relationships and/or challenges coming up in life (including but not limited to: school, work, navigating 20s and/or 30s, interpersonal struggles, dating, family dynamics, life stressors, identity development, and values work). I find it to truly be an honor and privilege to be right beside you as you navigate whatever challenges life throws at you. Reaching out for support can be a difficult step, and you are brave for how far you've already come. Feel free to send me a message on here or schedule your own phone consult on my website!

What is your relationship with food like? Is meal time an unavoidable chore, or something you find yourself obsessing over? Maybe the thought of certain foods, or even seeing them in the store sends you into a tailspin. If you work hard to limit your intake, postpone it, or try to eliminate it by any means necessary, you may have an eating disorder (ED). I have extensive knowledge and experience at outpatient, inpatient and residential levels of specialty care for EDs. I’ve come to know that there is no such thing as the “classic patient,” and the manifestation of an ED occurs for everyone at unique times regardless of socioeconomic status, faith, sexuality or race. I can help explore your relationship with nutrition and your body, enhance your strengths and support network, and guide you as you build a foundation of unconditional respect for yourself, that fosters growth and preparedness for the next phase in your life.

Hello, I am so glad you have taken the time to visit my site. I offer in-person and online therapy sessions to individual adults and adolescents in Colorado. Young adulthood is an exciting and transformative time. Whether starting off a new school year at college, navigating a new career, or feeling stuck and indecisive; new challenges and crossroads can be overwhelming. You might even find that with all of these new experiences, old issues and hang-ups continue to pop up. As your therapist, I’m here to walk with you through all of the twists and turns that adulthood can bring to ultimately thrive as the person you are becoming. I view our time together as a collaborative process where we are able to identify patterns, build upon strengths, and develop tools to promote growth and healing. I draw from various modalities and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Mindfulness. This integrative approach allows the therapeutic process to be more flexible and inclusive to each client's needs. Choosing a therapist can be a difficult decision, which is why I offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation for all of my prospective clients. If for any reason we decide I am not the right fit for you, I can refer you to another qualified therapist.

We are a group practice that focuses on helping people feel better in their relationships. Appointments are offered in-person at our Denver office or through Telehealth. We recognize, as a young adult, you might be feeling depressed, anxious, or stressed with all of the things you have to manage while trying to feel good about yourself in relationships. Establishing yourself as an individual in this world, separate from the places and the people you grew up with, can be hard. You can bring a lot of stuff with you. You might have the time and space to think about the hard stuff or to finally put a name to the stress and pressure you've been feeling. You want to make people happy, but you have to figure out how to feel happy yourself first. We understand this transition time in your life and how you are trying so hard to have healthy relationships, to be less worried or stressed, to feel successful, and to find happiness. Call today to hear how we can help.

You may notice sleep worsening, stress lingering, or feeling on edge without knowing why. Anxiety, depression, or past experiences often show up first in the body, mood, or relationships. I’m Steve Valente, LCSW, a therapist in Colorado with over 30 years in social services. In addition to my clinical work, I’m a touring musician, which gives me a unique understanding of the pressures and unpredictability of creative life. I especially enjoy working with musicians and creatives to stay grounded, manage stress, and build a life that supports both mental health and passion.

My belief is that everyone can benefit from therapy and having the support of an unbiased person to talk to. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the belief that our thoughts create our feelings, and that if we change our negative thinking our feelings will change. CBT teaches that it is not the event which causes the emotion (and our behavioral reaction) but the meaning we give that event - or what we think ABOUT that event. There are many powerful tools that have been developed to help you change your negative thoughts and feelings. Working with a Mental Health Therapist will help you learn how to use those tools to make changes in your life and relationships. Negative distorted thoughts tell us “once everything falls into place, I will feel peace”. Therapy helps you find your peace and then everything falls into place.

Hello, and a warm welcome to you! I collaborate with clients to identify their challenges and find ways to utilize their strengths to move through them. I work with those who struggle with their identity (i.e., religious/spiritual, racial, gender, age, immigration status, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status), grief and loss, and traumatic experiences and help clients to feel more grounded and confident in who they are. I hope for you to live more fully into your "one wild and precious life" (Mary Oliver).

A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.

Do you feel stuck in an endless cycle of perfectionism? Do you find you can’t get away from your own inner criticism, no matter what you do? Perhaps you’ve experienced anxiety from a young age and struggle to find relationships where you feel valued. When you’ve lived a certain way for so long, it can feel like change is impossible. But there’s a part of you that is a rebel, a cycle-breaker. It envisions a life filled with confidence, self-worth, and trusting healthy relationships. My goal is to help you bring this vision to life. I specialize in holistic treatment that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. I use my training in somatic Internal Family Systems and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing to address deeper patterns that leave you feeling stuck. I also use an attachment based approach to better understand your past and build a safe therapeutic relationship. As a survivor of complex trauma, I understand the daily heaviness that comes with holding so much. My therapeutic approach is insight-oriented, relational, and collaborative. I work with adults, couples, and adolescents to make meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we will take the time to get to the heart of your story and uncover deep-rooted emotional patterns. I specialize in anxiety, depression, identity issues, relationship issues, and self-esteem. I use psychodynamic theory to explore how our early experiences impact our current functioning, and I see the therapeutic relationship as a corrective experience to heal our early attachment wounds. In our work together, I will gently challenge you to say the unsayable, learn to trust yourself, get out of your own way, and discover new ways to relate to yourself and others. I am a Licensed Social Worker in private practice in Denver, Colorado. I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Family Systems as well as a post-graduate certificate in trauma therapy from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. I also completed a post-graduate program in Marriage and Family therapy at Denver Family Institute.
