Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
I utilize evidenced based interventions from both acceptance and commitment therapy and trauma-informed care principles in my practice. I graduated in 2017 from the University of Denver with my Masters in Social Work and have been providing both inpatient and outpatient treatment since that time. My education and both, personal and professional experiences have allowed me to develop skills to work with diverse, often marginalized populations, such as members of the LGBTQIA+ population or those where English is not their first language. My specialities for work center around severe mental illnesses, such as: schizophrenia and other thought disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. Typically clients I work with have the above noted challenges, but have also experienced other stressors in their relationships, employment, and/or with addiction(s) of some kind.
I aspire to be a healing force for connection, walking with you to explore the depths of your experiences and relationships. This process enables one to discover new ways of relating to themselves, others, and their world- nurturing a more intimate relationship with oneself makes space for deeper connections throughout life. A quote that speaks to me on this is “Techniques only work when they are not techniques; change happens when one becomes what they already are, not when they try to be what they are not". I specialize in helping people explore how their worldview shapes their interactions with themselves, others, and their environment- particularly through the lens of connection and meaning. We’ll work together to navigate all the parts of yourself that show up in the world, fostering a sense of wholeness, alignment, and possibility. Having an exploration heavy approach, areas that I typically work with are identity, relationships, career, spirituality, depression, trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, and anger. If this resonates with you, I would be happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. Let’s explore how therapy can help you live a more meaningful and connected life.

I might be making a blanket statement here, but here's what I have observed over the years. People between the ages of 18 and 25(ish) are so *aware* of their inner landscape and have a completely different view of mental health and the pursuit of what makes them feel safe, seen, connected and useful. If you're seeking therapy right now, it might feel like everything, from all directions is not to your advantage and what an overwhelming feeling that must be. Systemic problems are rampant and stacked against so many, but especially those of you who are just starting out on your own in this world. I see you. I empathize with you. I'd really love to know your story and work with you in whatever capacity you need. I have a particular specialty in addictions and trauma, however I have experience with many different kinds of needs as I've spent significant time in community mental health and schools. Shoot me a message and tell me what you're looking for. If I don't seem like a good fit, I'm happy to help you find a therapist who might be better. I do accept some insurances so if you're on those plans, let me know. Be well!

Whatever you're facing, you don't have to go through it alone. Therapy doesn't have to feel clinical or one sided. I offer a genuine authentic connection. In our first sessions, we'll create a safe, supportive space to explore your concerns and goals. Together, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan to support your growth, emotional well-being, and lasting change. I use a solution focused and goal-oriented approach to help clients manage trauma, anxiety, and emotional challenges. I teach you skills to overcome anxiety, depression, ADHD, lack of self-love, relationship or parenting struggles. My success lies in years of personal and professional experiences helping people just like you. I offer warm, judgement free, evidence-based care tailored to you and your needs. My approach blends person-centered therapy, mindfulness, dialectical, cognitive, and attached-based techniques. We offer affirming psychotherapy and sex therapy for individuals, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and poly and leather families. We are experts in alternative sexualities, specializing in working with adults in the kink/BDSM, polyamorous/non-monogamous, trans/gender-nonconforming/non-binary, LGBQIA+, and sex work communities. We work with those who live openly and out; and those who have more conservative and private lifestyles. We use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including holistic, person-centered, collaborative, empowerment-focused, trauma-informed, IFS, DBT, and EMDR. We welcome people of every ability, age, gender, national origin, race/ethnicity, religious affiliation, and sexual orientation, and we cultivate space for conversations that de/reconstruct whiteness, and cultivate positive racial and intersectional identities. People seek therapy for many reasons, including: a deeper understanding of identity or sexuality; difficulty adjusting to relationship difficulties or traumatic experiences; anxiety and/or depression; sexual functioning issues; compulsive thoughts or behavior; and/or changes in relationship structure or power dynamic. Most people decide to work with my practice because of my specialized training and experience, or because they feel more comfortable speaking to a therapist with first-hand knowledge of alternative identities and lifestyles.

At Jessica Quick Wellness we believe in the power of working towards being and feeling well physically, emotionally, and mentally. In my work with individuals and couples, we work together to explore feelings; those that are positive, negative, and those that get us stuck in order to work towards individualized goals. Together, we will explore what techniques work best for you in order for these goals to be reached and sustained.
Are you your own worst critic? You are the first one to point out your faults, and a part of you continues to feel like you’re not doing enough. Do you put the needs of others before your own - feeling that sick-to-your-stomach guilt when saying “no”? Do you find yourself escaping in work, hobbies, and relationships to avoid sitting with your thoughts and feelings? If these feel familiar, I am with you, and I would love to be a support for you. Let’s quiet that inner critic that can be so very loud, and make space for a voice with a bit more kindness. Let's work together towards more self-trust, self-compassion and self-esteem. I take a very relational approach to therapy. I want our time to feel like an exhale - a space where you can show up as you are, share openly, & feel understood. I enjoy bringing my personality into the space with humor and shared interests. Clients who work with me share that I am warm, thoughtful and compassionate, while also creating a space for growth. If you are interested in working together, please reach out for a free consultation. Don't see your concern listed in my profile? Let's chat and explore whether we would be a good match in working together.
