Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
I am a religious trauma therapist in Denver. Recovering from conservative religion can leave you questioning who you are, what you believe, and how to trust yourself. Maybe you're stuck in perfectionism, constantly thinking, “I’m not good enough,” leading you to isolate from others or hold yourself back from your goals. Maybe you have trouble making decisions because you believe you can't trust your instincts. You might not remember a time when things felt different. But you’re ready for relief: a kinder inner voice, more joy, and a deeper connection to your authentic self. You’re ready to feel confident, not because you’re perfect, but because you’re finally free to be you. As an experienced self-worth, anxiety, and trauma therapist, I believe you can untangle the messages from your past that are holding you back. You don’t have to keep making yourself small and you don’t have to do the work alone. Visit my website to schedule a free 15-minute consultation so we can discuss how I can help.
Does it feel like everyone else knows what they are doing, but you are completely lost? Are you struggling with figuring out how to adult? Are you ready to take your life back? The good news is, you are not alone. I can help you recognize that you are not broken or ineffective, but rather the strategies you are using to make yourself feel better are not working. We will explore where these unhelpful strategies came from and work to develop healthier strategies so that you can get your life back again. Do you feel overwhelmed, disconnected or unmotivated? Have you noticed changes in how you're feeling in your life and want to feel better? The past year has been a challenge for all of us, on every level. Having to manage the challenges of school, work and relationships during a pandemic has led many students to feel intense stress and anxiety, self-doubt, loneliness and depression. Learning about yourself and finding ways to manage challenges all leads to a sense of more control in your life and more confidence overall. I believe that when we take time to connect and have a space to talk, we realize what we're feeling is human and valid. Even in our hardest times, we all have strengths to build upon. I work with you to increase your awareness of your thoughts, your body and how to feel more connected to both. I am passionate about working with teens and young adults and work with many college students. I believe in an inclusive, supportive, collaborative therapy experience that feels empowering to you. I use a blended approach to therapy, focusing on strengths and skills and enjoy working on communication, self-advocacy and healthy relationships. I also blend skills such as mindfulness and other techniques to address specific anxiety disorders, such as social anxiety and OCD.
Therapy asks us to tap into vulnerable parts of ourselves. It requires safety and comfort. My clients are courageous enough to show up as their authentic selves, therefore I value being my authentic self within our therapeutic relationship. I incorporate empirically supported interventions into our time processing concerns, building self-awareness, making meaningful changes, and exploring identities. I specialize working with individuals who desire to dedicate less time and energy to food and body image concerns, and more time to aspects of life truly important to them. I approach disordered eating and body image work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. I want my clients to “taste life” and to experience it in a fulfilling way. I also have ample experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, relational concerns, life transitions, perfectionism, ADD/ADHD, and athletic identity. I value and enjoy working with diverse populations and strive to create a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. While we may not share identities or experiences, it is my mission as your therapist to approach our work with humility and to gain understanding of your authentic self.

We provide highly effective mental health and addiction treatment that helps people reach their full potential for health and well-being. We achieve this by continuously raising the standards for behavioral healthcare, showcasing our treatment outcomes, and acting with compassion and respect. When you’re the type of person who “shows up” for everyone else, it can be hard to admit you’re burned out. Helping is how you’ve learned to cope, connect and stay safe. I treat depression, anxiety, and burnout for people (15 years and older) who are too busy pleasing others to help themselves. My clients often find themselves having sudden health issues or lack of concentration and get into an identity crisis! "Who am I if I can't pull off miracles every day?!?" I offer a combination of psychotherapy and art therapy, which works well for people who don’t know where to start. I also integrate financial therapy into sessions because money issues are often unspoken roadblocks to personal growth. Art therapy is for all ages, and I primarily work with teens and adults. If a little part of you did a cartwheel when you read “art therapy”, it just might be a good fit for you. If another little part of you also got scared and nervous, that’s completely normal. You won't be judged about talent or skill, it's really about the process, not the product. Many clients have big new insights into their lives by working with images. When you've been running on empty, it's time to fill your tank. I'm a recovered pleaser too!

I offer individual and family therapy, addressing anxiety, depression, trauma and life adjustments. I believe in the power of mind-body connection to equip you with resilience and tools for growth. Therapy is a collaboration, and together we'll define your goals and chart the path to achieving them. Building our relationship means creating a space where you can be authentically yourself—where humor and warmth blend with non-judgmental support. Outside of therapy, I love walks, appreciate good cheese, and find joy in laughter. Let's embark on this journey together. I'm excited to meet you and start building something meaningful.
Kaitlin Boyd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Yoga Teacher. She specializes in helping teens and adults who are struggling with worry and sadness and want to learn how to confidently embody their authentic selves. Many of her clients are Empaths or Highly Sensitive People--they crave "more" out of life and are seekers with big questions about how to create a life worth living. They have a multitude of strengths, including the ability to feel deep compassion for others and to think critically about the world we live in. But they can also struggle with feeling misunderstood and can develop low self-confidence after focusing so much of their time and attention on others. In therapy, Kaitlin works to help clients express their true selves and find inner peace. Her approach is holistic and evidence-based, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Existential Therapy. She teaches skills to help clients cope and relate to others in healthy ways, as well as mindfulness to get in touch with the "root cause" of clients' suffering, which can be anything from an unhelpful thought pattern to an unexpressed emotion. Kaitlin welcomes a diversity of clientele and provides a safe space for clients interested in exploring their experience of oppression in the multitude of ways it manifests in our culture. Kaitlin offers the flexibility of remote online therapy sessions.

Hi there, I'm Lindsey! I help healers and caregivers who feel overwhelmed and not enough to feel appreciated, grounded, and confident by supporting deep self-reflection and boundaries. Many of my clients are students, teachers, social workers, therapists, nurses, and therapists, or they care for a loved one such as a partner, child, or parent. People who care for others often feel overwhelmed, anxious, not enough, and resentful because their needs aren't being met. Together, we can work to reduce your feeling of being overwhelmed, set healthy boundaries, and make you feel better.
My primary goal is to empower individuals in achieving our fullest potential by providing an environment where they can feel heard and understood, and where they can work towards personal growth, self-awareness, and healing. I am passionate about working with people recovering from narcissistic abuse. I believe in the importance of treating the whole person in a holistic approach to healing. Whether talking about anxiety to depression to specific life stressors to complex trauma, I'm here to walk alongside individuals as they identify their paths forward in an enriching and centered life. Services are delivered via telehealth. I enjoy a strengths-based approach to therapy. I have found parts work to be quite helpful. I am EMDR trained. Overall, my approach is that I consult the client, not the theory or methodology. As a result, I'm eclectic in my approach and work to personalize counseling services. I can work with CBT methods as a supplement to other methods. If you are struggling with the aftermath of trauma, including complex trauma, and are seeking support, I am here to help. My goal is to help people navigate recovery from complex trauma by learning inherent patterns that result from it. Please don't hesitate to reach out to schedule a consultation or to learn more about my approach to therapy.

Hi! My name is Amy and my primary practice specialty is grief and loss. While often people come to me due to the death of someone, grief is a wide and varied experience that can encompass many experiences: the end of a relationship, loss of a job, moving to a new place, the transition from high school to college or college to adulthood, and many others. I love working with people who acknowledge that the pain and suffering they are experiencing does not have to be managed alone and I am in the work of sitting with what can't always be fixed. Sometimes we just need a space to talk, learn coping skills, and say how much what we're dealing with sucks without people trying to problem solve or feel uncomfortable with the emotions we're experiencing. That's the space I create - one of safety, validation, humor, compassion, and unconditional permission to say, feel, and think whatever you need along your healing journey.
With over 7 years of clinical experience, I specialize in providing evidence-based care to individuals navigating depression, anxiety-related disorders, trauma, and mood disorders. My therapeutic work is grounded in approaches such as EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, and Emotionally Focused Therapy to ensure treatment is tailored and effective.
