We all need spaces where we can show up as our full, authentic selves—messy, complex, and human. Therapy can be that space: a place where we can slow down together, reflect, and explore what healing and growth might look like for you. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship challenges. My approach is deeply relational—grounded in empathy, respect, and a commitment to understanding your unique story. In our work together, we'll explore what’s been holding you back and what’s helped you get through, always focusing on what feels most meaningful and supportive for you. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, DBT, relational, somatic, and psychodynamic techniques, and I tailor our work to what best supports you. Healing happens in connection, and in our work together, I’ll meet you with care, curiosity, and a focus on what might be possible as we explore a path toward more ease, trust, and connection in your life. If you're curious about starting therapy, please reach out. I’d love to connect and explore what healing and growth could look like for you!

Research shows that it is the relationship between the client and the therapist that is the most important factor for success. I work to build a collaborative relationship that is rich, trusting, and productive. I look to encourage curiosity toward our experiences, where thoughts and patterns can be put into words. My work with people often centers around feelings of anxiety, dissatisfaction with important relationships or career, confusing ways of behaving, and a lack of clarity about why we feel the way we do. Often there is the sense that previous ways of being and thinking in the world may not be working as well as they used to. I believe Psychotherapy is an art and a science. Thinking together, we often find a better understanding of ourselves and our behavior, with a new sense of freedom and flexibility toward life that can be more strategic and less reactive, showing us a way of being and relating to others that is more creative, effective, and ultimately more fulfilling.

Many university students seek support when the usual ways of coping stop working. Even high-achieving, motivated students can find themselves struggling to focus, stay organized, manage emotions, or just feel like themselves. It’s not always obvious what’s going on at first—but there’s often more beneath the surface. I work with students dealing with: ADHD – trouble with focus, time management, procrastination, or follow-through Anxiety – persistent worry, racing thoughts, panic, or physical symptoms like tension or trouble sleeping Depression – low energy, lack of motivation, disconnection, or loss of interest in things that used to matter OCD – intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, mental loops that are hard to break Trauma – past experiences that affect how you respond to stress, relationships, or daily life Bipolar disorder – changes in mood, sleep, or energy that feel destabilizing or confusing Neurodivergence – navigating a world not built for your brain, and looking for care that meets you where you are Some students are already on medication and want to review or adjust their treatment. Others are starting from the beginning, looking to understand what’s going on and what options are available. Either way, the goal is the same: to feel more grounded, more capable, and more like yourself again. I offer convenient virtual appointments that can be requested online, as well as in-person visits at our Scottdale, GA location.

Can you remember the last time you didn’t feel stressed? Has stress become your new normal? You feel depressed and have unrelenting anxiety. You feel stuck and wish the world would slow down. And your body is in a knot - stomach aches, muscle tension, stiff neck, tight jaw. Working with the body is essential for emotional health. I approach healing by addressing root causes of stress. Together, we’ll create a personalized and holistic plan for our work together. You’ll find yourself sleeping better, breathing deeper, and smiling with greater ease. I believe it is important to meet one another before we begin work, which is why I offer a free 30 minute zoom consultation. I know it can be difficult to reach out for help, so If we are not the right fit, I will help you find a better connection. Reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to working with you.

I specialize in supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds as they navigate major life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, assertive communication, and relationship building. My therapy services cater to individuals ranging from 7 years old to adulthood, providing individual, parent, and family therapy. Sessions with me are crafted to explore the underlying motivations behind behaviors, fostering a non-judgmental mindset, and aligning actions with goals of self-efficiency, regulation, mindfulness, and fulfillment. In group settings, I work with elementary, middle, and high schoolers, as well as young adults, to introduce coping skills, promote positive interactions, and address challenges related to executive function. I utilize art, play, and talk therapy techniques to empower clients to reach their full potential. I am particularly passionate about supporting parents in managing role balancing and enhancing family communication, empowering them to model healthy behaviors for their children. It takes great strength and courage to reach out in our times of need. I consider it a privilege to join you on your journey and believe deeply in the healing that is possible within the therapeutic process. Our desire for relationships is beautiful. Within relationship we can experience the fullness of this beauty, but often they are what leave us fractured and fragmented. In counseling, I believe, we can put the pieces of us back together to experience personal wholeness once again. When we begin to experience the fullness within ourselves, we then can encounter the beauty of connection and relationship with others. Deeply valuing the uniqueness of each person, I aim to create a safe, compassionate, and authentic space by integrating the whole person into our work. Primarily working from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) model, we will seek to reintegrate each disjointed part of us back into the whole, utilizing our mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational parts. My faith is meaningful to me, and I welcome working with people of diverse faith backgrounds and beliefs. Throughout my own journey I have found that sorrow and joy often walk together. In our work together, I desire to hold space for the pain and hurt you have experienced, while also making space for moments of laughter and joy along the way. Within my therapeutic space I seek to create room for the dark and the difficult, as well as recognize the moments we need to take a breath from the heavy, and laugh. I want to follow where you lead. In my free time I love cooking, enjoying the outdoors with my husband, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing soccer, coaching athletes of all ages and stages, and laughing with my friends and family!

When is the last time you intentionally gave yourself (or others) grace? No really… when was the last time? Life comes at us quick and if we’re not careful, we’ll find ourselves struggling with unforgiveness, anger, self-doubt and more; because we allowed the battles we face to win. The truth is, they don’t have to win. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we can learn to control how we respond. We can make the necessary changes to show up in this world in a way that brings us joy and fulfillment. Living Intentionally to Transform (LITT) was created to provide a safe space for YOU to process through life’s troubles. I specialize in working with adolescents, athletes, college students and adults. When serving clients, my approach is simple… come as you are! I strive to always provide a space for clients to just, be. No pressure to act, talk or show up in a certain way. You can expect to be met with respect and understanding at all times and for me to be fully, me. For those who are Christians, you will also find a place to grow in your faith. When seeking a provider, most people desire someone with similar beliefs and/or morals. It’s also important for many to be able to feel a sense of connectivity with the person they are trusting for services. Well, let me share a little about myself. I am a PROUD HBCU graduate from theeeeee Winston Salem State University. I am also a graduate of Georgia State University where I received my Masters in Social Work. Most would describe me as laid back, transparent and silly. My clients would likely say that I’m one that will “keep it real” but also share a good laugh with you when needed. I will challenge you but also support you. I love time with family and have a special place in my heart for athletes as I am a previous athlete and coach myself. Did I mention I love cheesecake? Alright, alright.. enough about me… are you ready? Potential presenting issues/specialties: - stress - athletics/ sports performance - social life - peer relationships - family relationships - intimate relationships / Couples - anxiety - childhood traumas - life adjustments or changes - balance - spirituality/religion - time management - self doubt This list is not exhaustive of the reasons one may seek therapy. If you think LITT may be a good fit, reach out today. **Disclaimer: Due to licensing laws for therapist, I can only see clients who reside in the state of Georgia in which I am licensed.** To schedule a consultation -> https://jenae-ingram.clientsecure.me/
