Do you experience your thoughts and feelings as overwhelming or out of control? Do you feel dissatisfied or lonely in your relationships with others, or with yourself? Do you long for a life that feels worth living, but perhaps don't know where to start? I am so glad you're here. I specialize in supporting people who might see themselves in those descriptions or identify with experiences such as: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, OCD, Panic Disorder, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, or Borderline Personality Disorder. I utilize therapeutic strategies informed by attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy, psychodynamic and internal-family systems models to provide a flexible, person-centered experience. The work of therapy cannot be successful without a bond of trust, respect, and collaboration between client and therapist. It is truly an honor to bare witness to the courage and vulnerability it takes to seek change in one's life. If you feel ready to take the next step towards change, I would be honored to have you in my practice.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or scary. I believe healing works best when we can laugh, reflect, and be real together. I create a space where you can bring your full self, messy, hopeful, curious, and everything in between. Whether you’re navigating stress, identity, relationships, or just figuring out who you want to be, we’ll work side by side to uncover your strengths and help you move forward. As a social work intern, I’m passionate about supporting people through life’s in-between moments, the chapters that feel uncertain, overwhelming, or full of possibility. I bring an easygoing, compassionate style to therapy, blending evidence-based practices with genuine human connection. My approach is collaborative and non-judgmental: think of me as both a guide and a co-pilot. I work with individuals who want to explore identity, manage stress and anxiety, process life transitions, and deepen self-understanding. I also care deeply about working with young adults, students, and marginalized communities, helping folks feel seen and supported in spaces that often overlook them. Therapy with me is not about being ‘perfect’, it’s about exploring your story, building resilience, and finding ways to grow that actually feel authentic to you."

I believe the role of a therapist is to be more than a reflective and empathetic companion in the client’s journey and must also incorporate directive approaches in order to alternate between being a companion and being a leader on that journey. Inherent in this belief is that clients are coming to therapy because they want something different than what they currently have. This can be as simple as a new perspective on a past or current struggle or as complex as a new skill set for managing and overcoming emotional, behavioral, cognitive, relational, or somatic patterns that have arisen in response to emotional distress. My theoretical orientation is rooted in Systems Theory and I utilize interventions from Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, ARC, as well as Somatic and Mindfulness based psychotherapies. I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, college students, adults, couples, and families. My experience has shown that change is typically hard work and often requires compassionate and collaborative support in order to build new skills. I see clients in both Oregon and Massachusetts and I offer a 30 minute free video or phone consultation to see if I am the right fit for you.

If you are looking for support with self-exploration and self-esteem; experiencing relationship stress, depression or anxiety; adjusting to life at school or other big changes; or if you just feel like you need somewhere to unpack things you've been carrying for too long -- let's talk. I welcome every piece of your journey with radical acceptance - the grit, the shame, the parts we all try to hide and bury away. The funny thing about those things is, we all have them. I love therapy because it gives that stuff some room to breathe - which gives YOU room to breathe. And reboot. And make plans for what comes next. Over my years in the field, I've developed an approach to therapy that combines creativity and collaboration, focusing on a trusting, safe connection as the bedrock of our work. I utilize a variety of talk and expressive therapy modalities and love approaching things through a non-traditional lens. Connecting with a therapist when you're already struggling can be really overwhelming. Be proud that you're taking this first step right now. With time and space to bear witness to the answers you have within yourself, and a person you trust to help, it becomes easier to feel better and find the ground beneath your feet.

Emotions are normal, even hard to handle ones. Struggling is normal; it’s all part of the human experience. I’m here to teach you and empower you to manage and cope with strong emotions, stressors, and hardships. Through our time together, you will learn about the mind and how it connects with the body, and how to apply this knowledge to feel better. I specialize in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, dual diagnosis involving addiction and mental illness, positive psychology, and holistic healing. The mind is a powerful tool. With specific therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, (changing one’s thoughts to then change one’s emotions and behaviors), we can restructure our brain to operate in a more optimal manner, resulting in less stress, anxiety and depression symptoms, and more meaning, joy and fulfillment. With my therapeutic expertise, concrete tools, empathy, and compassion, I will guide you towards the best version of yourself who is better equipped to handle life’s stressors and make positive changes.

Margot brings a warm and interactive style to her psychotherapeutic practice, which can best be described as “eclectic,” as she believes that not one type of therapy is right for everyone. Pulling from psychodynamic (insight-oriented) psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness/meditation, and somatics (the integration of body/mind/spirit), Margot will tailor her practice to people’s individual needs depending on the particular issues they would like to address in therapy. Margot is committed to serving traditionally marginalized communities including people of color, queer and transgender/gender non-conforming people, poly and kink identified people, and people with disabilities. Seeking psychotherapy is a big step. I strive to provide a warm, accepting, and safe space where students can freely explore their experiences and emotions. Guided by our understanding of your unique story, we will come up with a personalized way of working together to meet your goals. I work with students who are navigating relationships with mentors, friends, and romantic partners, and grappling with questions of identity and career. I also see students struggling with serious mental health issues such as depression, anxiety/panic, and trauma. I was trained at Veterans' Affairs medical centers in treating PTSD, and my graduate training focused on issues of religion and identity.
