I am a MA licensed therapist, with over 12 years of experience. I previously worked for a local crisis team and now run my own private practice. I graduated from Salem State University with my masters in 2012. I also completed a licensure program in school counseling. My main treatment areas are depression, anxiety, mood disorders, life changes, stress, and relationship concerns. My practice includes long-term supportive and insight-oriented therapy, as well as short-term solution-focused therapy and techniques of CBT. My therapeutic style is warm and active. I want you to feel supported, comfortable, and appropriately challenged in order for you to make meaningful changes in your life. My intent is to create a safe space where we can work together to address the issues you are facing, improve understanding of yourself, and help you feel less stuck in existing patterns.
I provide client-centered psychotherapy services that are tailored to the needs of each client. I draw from a variety of theoretical orientations including Psychodynamic (insight oriented) and behavioral (skills oriented) treatment approaches. I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents in both English and Japanese. Some areas of specialty include relationship issues, self esteem issues, life transitions, stress, anxiety, mood issues (depression), family issues and cross cultural adaptation. My clients describe me as warm, empathetic and genuine. I am concerned with understanding the full person with whom I am sitting, and not only their problems or symptoms. I currently have a Friday morning availability at 1015am and am conducting sessions by phone only.
At Soul Sprout Mindful Care, we are dedicated to helping you and your family achieve Mental Health. We believe that Mental Health is just as important as physical health, and we treat it as such. We are committed to providing therapeutic services including individual outpatient therapy, family outpatient therapy, and couples outpatient therapy. A therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan, with interventions tailored specifically to your needs. We believe that you should be heard, and we take supporting you very seriously. In the African American community, we are haunted by intergenerational trauma that shapes how we view and operate within the world. By increasing the frequency with which people of color pursue therapy, we work to break the cycle of trauma and aid you in beginning a new family tradition of mental health. We are honored to work to be a part of this change! Our number one priority is the health and safety of our clients. We're working to provide telehealth services via zoom during this COVID crisis.

My name is Nicole and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I aim to offer a warm, supportive, and trauma-informed space for individuals who want to explore and process difficult experiences that have made it challenging to move forward. Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, confused, and unsure of how to make sense of it all. My goal is to create a safe space for understanding, healing, and growth and to support you in this journey to recovery.
Nicholas enjoys working with a variety of issues, including but not limited to anxiety, body dysmorphia, trauma and PTSD. Nicholas has experience working with young adults, adults, and with members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Nicholas works with clients to focus on the internal work, prompting change from within to effect how clients respond to stressors in their environment. We will work together to determine the root cause of the problem to establish a strong foundation to execute effective change. With a strong focus on coping skill development, Nicholas applies the fundamental and traditional practices of talk therapy, motivational discussion, in conjunction with acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as thought restructuring. If you are looking for a supportive, non-judgemental therapist to help you make the changes that are important to you, please reach out to Nicholas for support.
The pace of our daily lives seems only to be increasing in speed, and our ongoing hustle to keep up on a daily basis has only diminished our ability to slow down when we want to. My approach focuses on helping my clients address issues with anxiety, depression, video game addiction, and motivation. I utilize a psychodynamic and relational approach to learn and reflect with my clients to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves. From there I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness based techniques to help build the skills necessary to achieve their desired outcomes.
I am offering in person and virtual therapy sessions and have a variety of time/days open. I am an interactive, insight-oriented and solution-focused therapist. My strengths are working with those who have anxiety. With compassion and understanding, I will help you build on your strengths, and learn strategies to calm your anxiety and learn effective coping skills. The young adults I work with are able to safely explore difficult emotions, process current life events, and explore future goals, and what might be getting in the way of achieving these goals.
Welcome! For the past decade, I have had the honor of working with children and adolescents, young adults, parents, individuals, and families. As a therapist, I strive to support individuals in their work to feel more emotionally regulated, happier, and confident about themselves and their abilities in different various aspects of life. My clinical practice is grounded in frameworks of CBT, ACT, and DBT, and I integrate various modalities to ensure my approach aligns with every client's unique needs. I am direct, experienced, and warm; with me, therapy is a collaborative process through which we can step back together and look at challenges you are experiencing through a lens of curiosity. You have many strengths that have gotten you to this point in time, and we will tap into these to help you move towards more fulfillment in life.
Telehealth Openings starting in February. I use a strength-based approach to help clients get from where they are to where they want to be in life (building self-compassion along the way). I work with adults who struggle with ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ related challenges, assertiveness training, and low self-esteem. Neuroaffirming.
I specialize in substance use disorders and addiction but can help anyone looking to address their relationship with substances, even if you don't think your problem is serious. I also can help with other impulse or compulsive issues such as gaming or internet addiction disorders. I use a Harm Reduction approach, meaning I don't think abstinence from use is the right answer for everyone, and can help identify what skills you need to make the changes you'd like to make. I'm also a trained trauma therapist and have worked with a wide range of clients on addressing numerous types of trauma including combat-related and sexual traumas. My office is located in Harvard Square but I can also provide virtual session (over FaceTime or VSee) for appropriate clients.
Do you find yourself stuck or pained in relationships - with yourself, others, the world, or your past? The struggle may show up as loneliness, emptiness, maladaptive interpersonal patterns, or as symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, disordered eating etc. I strive to create trust in a nonjudgmental and authentic atmosphere, from where we work together to understand and help resolve your struggles. My style in session is warm, collaborative, and actively engaged. I'm not a passive listener who nods along silently—I'm present with you, noticing what's happening in the room, gently drawing attention to patterns, emotions, and moments that matter, including the ones you might be inclined to gloss over. Sometimes our work is more experiential—slowing down to sit with what's emerging rather than rushing past it. Other times it's more practical and action-oriented—working on concrete strategies, trying new behaviors, or building skills you can use between sessions. I blend insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, and emotion-focused approaches in individualized ways that fit who you are and what you're working through. I bring extensive experience across college counseling centers and mental health clinics, having most recently served as a staff psychologist at Harvard University Health Services, and previously at Case Western Reserve University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Northwestern University (where I completed my postdoctoral fellowship). I am now in full-time private practice. I'm also the Chinese translator of Irvin Yalom's Existential Psychotherapy and The Gift of Therapy, and serve on the Expert Committee at Jiandanxinli (简单心理), the largest therapist platform in China.
Founded in 2018 by Cindy Faria, LICSW and inspired by the quote, "If you cannot change the wind, adjust your sails", our company embodies the belief that life's journey toward healthy relationships, joy, purpose, and more should not be navigated alone. We specialize in supporting individuals with anxiety/mood concerns, helping navigate and improve intimate and family relationships, guiding through life transitions, and caring for those suffering from issues rooted in systemic racial oppression, socioeconomic barriers, LGBTQIA+ concerns, cultural/spiritual differences, and more. However, please know that our doors are open to all individuals seeking therapeutic support.
I am licensed in MA, NH, and VT. As a trauma therapist, I embrace an unconventional therapeutic style, incorporating humor and a holistic approach into my clinical practice. My practice is inclusive and welcoming to individuals from all identities and backgrounds. Many of my clients are neurodivergent or members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are experiencing issues related to complex PTSD and/or substance use and addiction. Drawing upon a deep understanding of trauma dynamics, harm reduction, and 12-step models, I stand by my clients as they venture into a path of healing and self-exploration. I offer a compassionate and comprehensive approach to healing. Viewing addiction and substance use as trauma-related disorders, I incorporate an eclectic combination of interventions to guide folks in rebuilding their sense of safety and resiliency. If appropriate, I can provide EMDR therapy. EMDR is a highly effective treatment for unresolved trauma. As a holistic clinician, my approach to healing considers the entirety of an individual. I believe our problems are not isolated events but interconnected components of our lives, impacting various facets of ourselves. Together, we can address issues at their roots, across the many layers of our being, to foster lasting and transformative change.
