I like to provide a mixture of skill-based interventions to help you navigate difficulties in the moment and after we're done with our work together. If you are struggling with emotions and thoughts related to all the changes you are experiencing, it might help to find someone to talk to. My approach to therapy is very casual, natural, non judgmental, collaborative and interactive.

I aim for our sessions to be respectful, with the belief that you know the details and dimensions of your life in far greater depth than anyone. This is why I find it utmost important to continuously work to help you help us to know what feels like it fits. 2. You are in the driver’s seat. I believe we each inherently know when we are ready to approach topics or issues. We will work together to discover those in a manageable, safe and healing way. 3. I know it will take time to get to know and trust each other. I think this is ok and good. As we go, we will learn how to best utilize our sessions in in the most helpful, hopeful way.
Hello! I am currently accepting new patients. All visits are through telemedicine, so I can see anyone in the state of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Colorado. My love for what I do in psychiatry, comes from the joy I get in helping others improve their lives. Most of my patients do not know which direction to go when then come to me, and that is ok. Some people come to me looking for second or third opinions about diagnosis or medications, some people are referred by a therapist to start medication. We can openly discuss decisions and options. This is a judgement free zone. There is no way you can TMI me! My primary role in our sessions is diagnosis, evaluation and medication management. The role I have in therapy is very small. Most clients are already in therapy or have been referred by therapists to me. Hi, I'm Julie Dunne PhD, PMHNP. I am a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston College, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a registered yoga teacher. At Drishti Holistic Wellness, I specialize in providing mindful mental health services, including prescribing psychiatric medications and using Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I utilize mindfulness-based techniques, such as MBCT and yoga in my treatment plans to support holistic mental health and meet the unique wellness goals of my clients. I provide new prescriptions or refills of psychiatric medications based on the needs and preferences of my clients.
In addition to eclectic psychotherapy, I provide Internal Family Systems work and a variety of psychodramatic and hypnotic methods in my practice. I have worked with individuals, couples and families for over 4 decades. My belief is that people are complicated and do not fit into simplistic, diagnostic categories. I am a clinical mental health counselor and expressive arts therapist whose practice is rooted in community and social justice-based approaches to mental health and well-being. I work primarily with adolescents and adults with diverse mental health needs. My clinical experience has specifically involved working with womxn and folx of color to address complex trauma and explore issues around gender, sexuality, and sociocultural identity. We accept insurance and all intake and billing goes through the group practice. I primarily offer telehealth in English and Hindi.
