I meet clients where they are at and empower clients to decide what they want to focus on in sessions. I have primarily worked with young adults in my career. My experience allows me to adjust my approach to meet the unique circumstances of my clients and assist clients in times of crisis. I work with individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their lives due to transitions, low self-esteem, mood disorders and anxiety. My approach to therapy is both goal oriented and insight oriented. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that is person-centered and strengths-based. I use mindfulness-based techniques to help clients calm their minds, focus on the present and connect with their physical bodies. I believe that clients know themselves best and, through partnering with clients, I help them to live their best lives. I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor with a degree in Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapies and a Certified Life Coach and Wellness Coach. I work with a range of diagnostic presentations, including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD and adjustment disorders.

Hello! I help my clients find balance through maximizing their emotional well-being while also improving their nutrition. My specialties include working in the areas of eating disorders, body image, anxiety and depression, and sports performance. It is essential to practice self-care in order to have the energy, drive, and focus required to accomplish our life goals. Attention to health is vital, but if taken to the extreme, can wear us down. Preoccupation with food or exercise can distract from experiencing the nuances of life, as well as prevent the formation of meaningful relationships. I work with my clients to help them enjoy their food experiences, but also to utilize it as medicine to enhance well-being, perform effectively in school and at work, and enhance athletic abilities. I use a non-diet approach, focusing on assisting clients develop intuitive eating skills and increase mindfulness towards food and their body. I emphasize a solutions-oriented focus on present-day distress. On a session-by-session basis, I strive to concretely track goals, insights, and progress, and provide a consistent measure of clarity and relief. I have accumulated over seven years of professional experience working with adolescents and adults across residential, inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment settings, including rotations at NY-Presbyterian Hospital, Jacobi Medical Center, McLean Hospital, and Germane Lawrence. I have studied Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under Marsha Lineham and, for over two years, applied DBT treatment to personality-disordered adolescents and adults, including interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, and distress tolerance groups, 24/7 skills coaching, and participation in DBT training and supervision groups; I have studied Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) under Steven Hayes, and received over three years of doctoral training, supervision, and didactics in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression. And he studied interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) under Greg Hinrichsen for grief in older adults. And I have received formal and advanced training in other research-based treatment protocols, including prolonged exposure (PE) for trauma and “stages of change” and other motivational interviewing frameworks for substance abuse and addictions.
