As individuals or in the context of a relationship, we are always trying to make meaning of our lives, decide what is essential to us, and think about the path we are on. Of course, in life there are transitions and challenges along the way which interfere. One can become affected emotionally and can get lost for a time, or feel disillusioned, upset or stuck. In our relationships, we experience conflict and communication struggles, and sometimes get locked into repeated and unwanted patterns. One might ask: "Am I living the life I want; is there something more for me? How do I change? Therapy can be a way to understand the emotions we have, the life transitions we experience and the thoughts we linger on as our lives and relationships evolve and develop. Beyond understanding, therapy’s intent is to support and prompt change and to help you sort through these challenges in your own unique way. Collaboration will guide our work together. I am an interactive, direct and reflective therapist who brings curiosity, humor and respect for the complexity of the issues individuals face. Change is difficult to achieve; my job is to help you utilize and build your resources to accomplish the goals you seek. Having over 30 years of clinical experience offers strategies and tools to share.

I am a licensed psychologist dedicated to helping college students successfully navigate the unique challenges of this pivotal time in their lives. I work to understand the pressures you may experience to perform academically, the stress of living and working independently, and the difficulties of managing time and relationships. My Approach to Psychotherapy My work with college students is focused on providing concrete, evidence-based skills to help you thrive. I specialize in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, a common concern for many students. My experience includes using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals learn skills and empower them to effectively manage anxiety and regain a sense of control. I also have extensive experience with other scientifically proven interventions to address issues that frequently arise during the college years, such as: Depression: Developing coping strategies to overcome overwhelming feelings. Traumatic Stress: Providing support and tools through tough times. Organizational Skills: Helping you master time management and planning to reduce academic stress. My goal is to empower you to take an active role in your own success by learning how to solve complex emotional problems and prioritize your physical and psychological well-being. Whether you're struggling with academic pressures, communicating with roommates or professors, or finding your place on campus, I can provide the support and tools you need.

Aria Psychiatric is currently providing in person and telepsychiatry visits for clients in Massachusetts. Clients are seen first for a diagnostic assessment and can expect warmth, empathy, and expertise as they work to better understand their mental health concerns. Together with their provider, they will work to determine an appropriate treatment plan. Psychiatric treatment requires a unique collaboration between provider and client in order to be most effective. While medication management and supportive therapy are provided by our practice, clients are also encouraged to be actively engaged in treatment with a therapist.

I offer a collaborative space to address a range of issues, with a particular interest in working with life's big transitions. For example, professionals launching their careers and students formulating their vocational goals; or people in family changes: entering long-term commitments, early parenthood, divorce, or grief. Therapy can provide a non-judgmental space that is both warmly supportive and challenging. Our work will typically balance a combination of self-reflection and change. We start this process together by looking at how your presenting concerns fit into the complex story of your life. Throughout this process, I aim to enhance my clients' agency, satisfaction, and creativity within their lives. About me: Please visit my website at www.miriamwaldheterphd.com . I earned my doctorate at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I then completed a pre-doctoral internship at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School, and postdoctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition to private practice, I also work part-time at the Danielsen Institute at Boston University.

Hello! I am a licensed psychologist with 20+ years of experience who works with children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan. I have a specialty in college mental health and was on staff at Emerson College for many years. I enjoy working with students from schools across Massachusetts, and have a good understanding of college life at Wellesley, Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis, Tufts, and UMass (Amherst and Boston) in particular. I'm open to learning about the specifics of other school environments that interact with your wellness and mental health. People describe me as deeply empathic, authentic, and down to earth. I strive to accompany my clients on their personal journey, providing support along with gentle challenging in order to help you strengthen coping skills, address acute and chronic symptoms, and empower you to live your best life in the present moment. I believe that effective therapy starts with a trusting relationship that involves collaboration, warmth, and humor. I integrate a relational-cultural perspective with psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and dialectical-behavioral theories to provide evidence-based treatment for clients. I work particularly well with students who are struggling with anxiety, identity concerns, and relationships. Contact me for a brief phone call to see if we might be a good fit to work together. Of note, my practice is a hybrid of telehealth and in-person at this time.

I've been in (and continue) training for psychodynamic and relational analytic work with adults, couples, families and children. I'm a generalist with a range of clinical interests and experience, including: depression; traumas and intergenerational trauma; anxiety and sociopolitical anxiety; parenting and parent guidance; identities; relationships; family of origin issues; adjustment disorders and life transitions; dissociation; spirituality; creativity; dreams; play; helping professionals; and academia. I'm also comfortable with various modalities (e.g. CBT, ACT, DBT, MBT, Gottman, Narrative, Relational Cultural Therapy, and EMDR) and weaving them into the work as needed. I truly love this work and am invested in lifelong learning and teaching, via educational groups, courses, seminars, workshops, and consultations. I believe our work is a collaborative endeavor. I'm committed to offering a supportive, safe, compassionate and curious space where growth, healing, and insights can occur. I understand and appreciate the vulnerability of starting therapy, and trying to find someone who feels like the right fit to invite into your life. Fundamentally, our work should aim to both decrease your symptoms while helping to increase your own awareness of yourself and enhance your connection to self and others, leading to a more full, vibrant, satisfying and meaningful life.

I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with over 13 years of experience. My expertise includes certification in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), recognized as the gold standard in treating OCD. Additionally, I have extensive experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, as well as navigating significant medical challenges and grief and loss. Starting therapy can be an intimidating journey for many individuals. From my years of experience, I've learned that establishing a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is paramount from the outset. My approach is to meet you where you are, listen attentively, and begin building this foundation right from our first session. In our work together, I see you as the driver of your journey, and my role is to assist you in navigating the path ahead. There are multiple avenues we can explore, and together we will determine the best route for your unique needs and goals. I would be privileged to accompany you on your path towards a happier, healthier self.

I am a licensed mental health counselor who specializes in anxiety, grief and loss (death, relationship changes, life transitions, chronic illness) and anxiety. Through my many years working with bereaved clients, I have learned that we all grieve in our own way and in our own time. In an attempt to create a refuge from the cultural pressure “to move on,” I strive to offer a welcoming, nurturing, and safe space for you to grieve your loss, to find hope and connection, and to discover ways to heal and to grow. My approach is client-centered, relational, and collaborative and I draw from a variety of treatment modalities, including expressive therapies, narrative therapy, exposure therapy, CBT, and mindfulness-based strategies. During times of change and loss, a lack of understanding by those closest to us can sometimes cause confusion and feelings of loneliness. I hope to provide a safe space where you can feel supported and understood. I also hope that with time, understanding, and compassion, you will be able to find ways to connect, to heal, and to grow.

My name is Fernanda Alves and I am originally from Brazil, where I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2006. After graduating, I immigrated to the US to pursue my master's degree in mental health, which I completed in 2012. Since then, I have worked as an outpatient therapist for two nonprofit organizations, where I obtained experience working with children, adolescents, and families. At the beginning of 2020, I opened my practice, where I have been working with children, adolescents and adults. As someone who has attended counselling myself for anxiety and ADHD, I noticed that plain “talk therapy” was not the most effective method for so many of us, so with that in mind, I developed a goal-oriented, evidence-based approach with my clients that allows them to develop tools to accept life’s challenges while moving towards their values and goal. Instead of focusing on WHY you can't accomplish something, I will help you focus on HOW by giving you productive solutions and strategies.

A working machine is comprised of many cogs and gears that must interlock seamlessly in order to function. Our minds are not all that different. One faulty belief can throw our whole center off balance. That is why counseling can be beneficial. Gaining a new perspective is the same as getting a realignment. Counseling can be a life-altering journey as it offers a judgement-free atmosphere to explore our deepest fears, sorrows, and triumphs. The sharing of these experiences can open our minds up to new ideas and perspectives that we may be struggle to uncover on our own. Stephanie Hunt is a licensed mental health counselor practicing in the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Stephanie has a straight-forward but empathic approach to helping clients navigate through problems. She has extensive experience working in both individual and group settings.
