I can help if you feel stuck, insecure or feeling like you are not “good enough”. I can help you build real confidence and emotional strength. You might find yourself constantly overthinking, comparing yourself to others, or feeling pulled in different directions. One part of you trying to move forward while another holds you back. As a fully bilingual (Spanish/English) Latino therapist, I understand how pressure, expectations, and life transitions can impact your confidence and sense of self. I specialize in trauma (EMDR), anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and self-esteem. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you understand and work through internal conflicts, and EMDR to reprocess difficult or traumatic experiences. I also use solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral approaches to support practical, real-life change. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your pace, while still helping you move toward meaningful change. If you feel ready to start working through this, feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation or an intake session with me.
My aim as a therapist is to help clients resolve the problem they are experiencing in their lives. I offer a safe environment for clients to express themselves, gain a sense mastery and autonomy through talking and increasing strategies and skills to better cope and thrive in life. My clinical approach is to tailor care to clients’ individual needs- integrating an array of approaches and training experience such as insight-oriented methods, cognitive behavioral techniques, trauma informed treatment, mindfulness-based care, and addiction and substance use disorders treatment. My education includes a Master’s in social work (MSW) from Rutgers University( with Minor in Alcohol Studies) and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BA) from the University of New Hampshire( English Literature/Minor in Psychology.) My professional experience includes university counseling- most recently at Harvard University 's Counseling and Mental Health services where I work for 16 years supporting college and graduate students, and previously in NIAAA/NIDA research studies, community mental health, hospital based social work, clinical director of inpatient /outpatient program, employee assistance. Clients describe me as a good listener, empathetic, compassionate, a good sense of humor and a firm believer in change.
I received my bachelor’s degree with honors from Brown University and my master’s degree from Boston College. I acquired my clinical training at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School’s largest psychiatric affiliate, on an inpatient unit in the division of Anxiety & Mood Disorders. I also trained at the OCD Institute, the nation’s first and foremost treatment center for obsessive-compulsive disorder. I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety, and self-doubt. I have a particular focus on “Pure O,” which are obsessions without visible compulsions. Often these include obsessional doubts about taboo topics such as sexuality, violence, morality, identity, and health. When my clients first come to see me, they are stuck in a swamp of anxiety and endless fears of “what if.” They are exhausted from trying to escape the discomfort of their thoughts and keep their emotions at bay. For so long, avoiding and withdrawing has seemed like the easiest path to take, but it has also meant missing out on parts of life. They wish things could be different—that they could get out of their heads, stop worrying, and be more fully connected to themselves and others—but facing fears and making changes feels so daunting. I am one of the few clinicians in the country trained by the creator of Inference-based Therapy (IBT or I-CBT), an evidence-based therapy for OCD that addresses self-doubt and learning to trust yourself instead of having to resort to researching, reassurance-seeking, ruminating, or avoiding. You can be free of the exhaustion that comes from all the obsessing and avoiding. In our work together, you will develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and being in relationships so that you are no longer at the mercy of self-doubt and intrusive thoughts. You will learn how to trust yourself and step into your strength so you can show up fully to your own life.
I specialize in working with people presenting with mood and anxiety disorders seeking symptom reduction and healthy coping skills and also insight into their mental health challenges.I also work with people of all ages on the Autism Spectrum as well as their families. My overall approach is to set goals to improve daily life while simultaneously working on context and background that may be contributing to today's challenges. People benefit from all different kinds of therapy models. I often get feedback that my approach is more directive and actively engaged than other providers. Welcome to Lily Mental Health! College can be one of the most exciting times of life — and also one of the hardest. Between academics, relationships, identity shifts, and the pressure to “have it all figured out,” it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected. On the outside you may look like you’re managing, but inside you may be struggling with stress, burnout, or the feeling that you’re not yourself. I’ve worked with hundreds of college students who’ve faced challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, trauma, and major life transitions. Many have already tried counseling, medications, or coping strategies, but still feel stuck and want something more thoughtful, practical, and personalized. My name is Julie Bass, I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C). I have worked in mental health for over 10 years and offer a blend of medication management and integrative strategies that go beyond quick fixes. My practice is intentionally small so I can provide personalized care — not rushed diagnoses or one-size-fits-all treatment plans. I take the time to really understand your story, explore the root causes of your symptoms, and help you find sustainable ways forward. I especially enjoy working with college students navigating identity, independence, and transitions, as well as international students, who often carry the added stress of being far from home, balancing cultural expectations, and adapting to a new environment. I also know how busy student schedules can be, so I offer early morning, evening, and weekend appointments to make care more accessible. If you’ve ever thought: “I should be able to handle this, but I feel like I can’t.” “I’m doing everything right, but I still don’t feel better.” “No one seems to actually listen.” …know that you’re not alone. My practice is built on the belief that you deserve care that feels collaborative, respectful, and empowering — care that helps you understand yourself and create lasting change. This is a space where your voice matters. Let’s work together to help you feel grounded, confident, and connected again.
Are you struggling with transitions? Are you having problems with limit setting? Relationship issues with friends or family members? Transitioning from elementary school to middle school? For the past 25 years, I have helped patients and their families with these issues and many more as a Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. As Medical Director at Boston Children’s Hospital and at Metro West Medical Center, I have supported families through these various issues. I have an active faculty appointment at both Harvard University and Tufts University. I provide both individual therapy and family therapy when working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have treated anxiety, depression, ADHD and Bipolar disorder in medically complicated individuals. I emphasize diet, exercise, collaborative communication between caretakers and sleep hygiene before prescribing medications. As a parent of two teenagers myself, I am aware of the pressures that children, teenagers and young adults face today. Through my faculty roles, I have collaborated with mental health clinicians and other providers and absolutely love using a team approach when helping individuals. I am actively involved with teaching Child Psychiatry to Psychiatry residents.
I’m dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care. I believe meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration. My approach integrates evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP. I work with young adults and adult clients. Each session is tailored to your unique needs and goals, helping you build practical skills, increase self-awareness, and move toward a more balanced values-driven life.

I've been in (and continue) training for psychodynamic and relational analytic work with adults, couples, families and children. I'm a generalist with a range of clinical interests and experience, including: depression; traumas and intergenerational trauma; anxiety and sociopolitical anxiety; parenting and parent guidance; identities; relationships; family of origin issues; adjustment disorders and life transitions; dissociation; spirituality; creativity; dreams; play; helping professionals; and academia. I'm also comfortable with various modalities (e.g. CBT, ACT, DBT, MBT, Gottman, Narrative, Relational Cultural Therapy, and EMDR) and weaving them into the work as needed. I truly love this work and am invested in lifelong learning and teaching, via educational groups, courses, seminars, workshops, and consultations. I believe our work is a collaborative endeavor. I'm committed to offering a supportive, safe, compassionate and curious space where growth, healing, and insights can occur. I understand and appreciate the vulnerability of starting therapy, and trying to find someone who feels like the right fit to invite into your life. Fundamentally, our work should aim to both decrease your symptoms while helping to increase your own awareness of yourself and enhance your connection to self and others, leading to a more full, vibrant, satisfying and meaningful life.
We are a neuropsychology practice that specializes in providing assessments for adults 16 and up. Our providers have been in clinical practice for over 35 years . The range of presenting issues for assessment include ADHD, Dementia, short-term memory changes, concentration difficulties, depression/anxiety, substance use, traumatic brain injury, learning disability, occupational/educational difficulties, movement disorders, stroke, seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis, other psychiatric disorders, and other contributing factors that affect day to day functioning. Patients are either referred by their physicians or are self-referred. A neuropsychological evaluation is a set of diagnostic interviews and test procedures used to assess cognitive and baseline functioning. It makes use of standardized tests to measure mental abilities including attention, concentration, memory and learning, language, visual-spatial abilities, organization, planning, problem solving, and executive functioning. The pattern of cognitive strengths and weaknesses can be diagnostic and often correlates with specific regions of the brain. Neuropsychological evaluation can help clarify the effects of the disorder on cognitive functioning and is helpful in developing specific recommendations for treatment and rehabilitation.

Seeking therapy and finding the right therapist can be difficult and daunting. My initial goal when meeting with new clients is to create a comfortable and safe environment. Wherever you are in your pursuit of receiving help is where I accept you and begin our work together. Wherever you are is a good place to start. The practice I opened with close colleagues is called Elysium Counseling LLC. “Elysium” by definition is a place of ideal happiness or a peaceful state of mind. While that may feel unrealistic to obtain by some, we help our clients grow to believe they can achieve just that. I want my clients to know that change is possible, that they have unique skills and abilities, and are worthy and capable of creating a life they want to live. Part of that process invites clients to be challenged in new ways, even if it’s hard. I value and prioritize relationships with my clients, as I believe a strong therapeutic alliance is the main contributor to successful treatment outcomes. Life is complicated. It’s my job to help clients navigate all that comes with it as best they can.
