At Topsail Addiction Treatment in North Andover, we’re here for college students from Merrimack College—literally right down the street—and nearby spots like Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill or UMass Lowell, who are battling addiction while trying to keep their college life together. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is built for students like you—maybe you’re a Merrimack Warrior stressed out from exams and turning to drinking or drugs to cope, or a commuter student from Lawrence feeling trapped by a gambling habit that’s spiraled out of control. We connect best with those who are juggling school, work, or campus vibes but finding that substance use or betting is throwing them off track. We’re a great fit for students who are ready to face the mess—whether it’s partying too hard to numb the pressure, skipping classes because of a hangover, or losing cash you can’t afford on bets—and want to get back to feeling steady without dropping everything. Our clients often share a craving to reclaim their focus—to nail that paper, hang with friends without needing a drink, or just wake up clear-headed. Located just a couple miles from Merrimack College in North Andover, we’re easy to reach from Andover, Methuen, or Haverhill, and we’ve got your schedule covered with morning, afternoon, and evening IOP sessions. Got daytime classes? Our evening options let you hit the books during the day and get support after. Whether you’re the social type who’s overdone it, the stressed-out student hiding a pill problem, or the risk-taker who’s in too deep with gambling, our IOP offers a no-shame space to figure it out with a team that gets the college grind. With flexible sessions to match your life—mornings for early risers, afternoons for between-class gaps, or evenings to keep your days free—we’re here to help you break free from addiction and get back to thriving. Ready to take control and still keep your college groove? We’re just down the road.

Are you seemingly okay on the outside, but uncomfortable and anxious underneath? Do relationships with family, friends, or romantic partners feel stressful? Perhaps you are struggling to figure out your path in college or after graduation? It’s really hard to navigate relationships and decisions for yourself now, for the first time! I believe college and your 20s are the most important time where you can shape your future by learning about yourself. Often, you grow up not really knowing you are and who you want to be, and feel lost when you try to figure this out. I’d love to support you as you navigate this time by really listening and understanding you, providing non-judgmental guidance and empathy, and asking you helpful questions. I focus on issues with life transitions (yes college and graduation), self esteem, anxiety, interpersonal conflict and communication, dating, perfectionism, break-ups, and stress. Common goals include reducing anxiety, finding a suitable partner, building connection, stronger communication, creating healthy boundaries, finding purpose/career, managing life transitions, and increasing coping skills and confidence. My clients don't fill empty spots! This is my passion and you are so important to me; I remember details and strategize between sessions ensuring you receive the best care in return for your commitment to therapy.
I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan. After finishing a Masters of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, I completed a four year post-graduate program at the William Alanson White Institute, a psychoanalytic institute in New York City. In my practice, I work with people who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals who are interested in improving their understanding of themselves or an aspect of their lives, or who want to be better able to make choices that lead to a sense of fulfillment. My goal is to provide a warm and collaborative relationship in which these topics can be explored. I believe that a successful therapeutic relationship is based on trust and can help bring about growth and change. I offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists in private practice and as part of the William Alanson White Institute's Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program. I am also an Associate Editor for the academic journal Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Jessica Rossi is a clinical psychologist who provides individualized, evidence-based treatment. She has extensive experience working with young adults. She partners closely with clients to address specific goals and find ways for clients to be their authentic selves and support growth. She utilizes behavioral interventions to treat a variety of conditions including anxiety, mood, trauma and ADHD.
Some clients arrive feeling the weight of their anxiety. Others are in the middle of a transition—navigating changes in relationships, family dynamics, or adjusting to a new diagnosis or ongoing health condition. These transition moments can bring a level of uncertainty that’s hard to tolerate and often lead to second-guessing, especially when your body or health begins to feel unpredictable or outside of your control. I also work with individuals who experience intrusive thoughts or feel caught in patterns meant to prevent something bad from happening. These thoughts can feel unsettling or even at odds with who you are—making them confusing, distressing, and difficult to talk about. For some, these experiences are connected to obsessive-compulsive patterns (often referred to as OCD), even if that’s not a term you’ve used for yourself before. There are effective, evidence-based ways to work with OCD patterns, and we can talk through what that might look like for you. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy is a collaborative process. You should want to talk to your therapist, and from the very beginning, I focus on creating a space where you can talk openly about what’s actually on your mind. The relationship between therapist and client matters deeply. Meaningful change tends to happen when people feel understood, respected, and able to show up honestly— even when what they’re bringing to session feels messy, confusing, or hard to put into words. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and no single approach works for every person or every situation. I draw from a range of approaches and tailor the work to each client’s needs, goals, and experiences. Depending on what feels most helpful, this might include building a clearer understanding of the patterns you’re caught in, exploring where those patterns come from, or finding new ways to respond to them. Across all of this, my focus is on helping you make sense of what you’re experiencing and shift the patterns that are keeping you stuck so they begin to have less of a hold on you over time.
My first step in the therapeutic process is to provide a non-judgemental, empathic ear. My goal is to help you develop an understanding of yourself and your patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. I will also provide you with concrete strategies that you can use to decrease stress, combat negative thoughts and cope with painful emotions.

My professional path has been diverse, ranging from supporting teens and young adults grappling with addiction to serving in behavioral schools and providing therapy in non-profit organizations. I am currently working towards a certificate in Nutritional Psychology and am dedicated to providing comprehensive care that addresses both mind and body. Maybe what aches most is not the change itself, but the fear that someone you love is slipping out of reach — even if that someone is you. Everything feels different, yet somehow the same. One minute you are putting on pajamas, and the next you are spiraling because it is the first moment of quiet you have had all day. There is this gut feeling that your heart can no longer be bound with band-aids, but soul-searching is a lot before the alarm goes off tomorrow. You do not have to make sense of it all alone at midnight — that is what I am here for. I support clients ages 13–30s through this season of becoming — identity, relationships, independence, pressure, purpose, and transition. With evidence-based care and expressive arts, we use guided reflection, practical strategies, and creative exploration to turn overwhelm into clarity, awaken new direction, and find the light at the end of the tunnel. There is no perfect place to begin. Arrive as you are! I offer virtual therapy sessions for clients located in California, Indiana, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. I am available for a free 15-minute phone consultation, and I invite you to reach out. I look forward to connecting.
