Welcome to my practice listing. Psychology and psychotherapy can help you when you are in distress and can help you heal AND to create the life that you want. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness psychotherapies, family systems therapy, existential psychotherapy, among other models to find tools and sustained abilities to grow.
I have been working with Grand Rapids Therapy Group since 2018 and have seen clients who have a range of difficulties. I consider myself the objective perspective for my clients and like to provide skills to help others cope with struggles they may be experiencing. I have a background in Education and School counseling prior to working in a private practice. I like to use mindfulness and relaxation techniques in helping others manage big emotions.

We are living in tender times. Many of us are undergoing internal shifts and personal transformations while the world at large is also shifting beneath our feet. Working together, we can find ways to cope creatively with life's many challenges. My work is inspired by each individual client’s unique potential for wholeness. I enjoy working with individuals on issues of gender, sexuality, relationships, intimacy, spirituality, wellness and authenticity. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly & aware. My other areas of competence include anxiety, depression, grief, and adjustment to life transitions. My counseling practice is informed by Hakomi and its principles of mindfulness, unity, body-mind connection, non-violence and organicity. Learning to accept what is and be in the present moment is more important than ever. My counseling approach includes person-centered, humanistic, strengths-based, trauma informed, depth psychology and cognitive behavioral. One of life’s great challenges is that we all encounter suffering and struggles along the way. And yet, I strongly believe that it is not only possible, but that it is every person’s birthright, to live a life full of meaning, joy and fulfillment. I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your personal journey of unfolding and healing.

If you are curious, hesitant, or intimidated about seeking therapy, I am here to help. I create a nonjudgemental, safe and confidential space where you can freely express yourself without fear, judgment or criticism. This space is dedicated solely to your well-being, where you can explore your emotions, build your self-esteem and cultivate self-compassion. If you value a creative and holistic approach to therapy, we may integrate art or other expressive techniques like mindfulness. I am passionate about trauma and women's issues. My training and experience allows me to navigate the complex needs of survivors of all ages, including young survivors. One area of particular interest to me is the mind-body-spirit approach. These therapies focus on the body's wisdom in healing trauma and provide a holistic approach to recovery. As part of Wellspring Therapeutic Partners, I regularly consult with our team of therapists, prescribers, and psychologists who specialize in a variety of areas. I can provide seamless referrals for medication management or testing, though we always welcome and encourage you to keep working with your outside provider if helpful.
