I’ve always known I was meant to help others, and becoming a therapist has allowed me to do just that. I’m passionate about helping people heal, grow, and feel like the best versions of themselves. I work at Restore Therapy Collective in Grand Rapids offering both in person and telehealth sessions. I work with kids, teens, and adults on ADHD, anxiety, autism, life transitions, school issues, relationships, and trauma. I am also dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence. With a background as a school social worker and education in play therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, and EMDR, I take a person-centered approach to help clients build resilience and find what works for them. Outside of here, I enjoy traveling, photography, trying new restaurants, reading, and spending time with my two cats, family, and friends. I’m grateful to support my Michigan community and would be honored to help you on your journey!

I've spent many years working in different college counseling centers and have a true love for the college population - so much is happening in emerging adulthood, especially figuring out who you are and what you want life to look like. Because of increased stress and responsibilities, it is also a time where mental health concerns can either emerge for the first time or increase in their severity. I find great joy in getting to be a supportive space and teammate for folks navigating this incredibly rich period of life.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (in the states of Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio) who has been practicing for over 10 years. I have years of experience working with college students as I am a former College Counseling Center Director and worked in counseling centers as well as have seen college students in my private practice. I have years of experience providing both clinically and culturally competent therapy (meaning I collaborate with students to address topics they want to in therapy using tools/strategies that have been proven helpful and I take into consideration a student's various social identities and how that may impact how they experience the world). I find that I work well with students who are working through life transitions, adjustments, relationship stressors, experiencing anxiety(including those who experience social anxiety) depression, a desire to increase their self-esteem, racial trauma, or are in need increasing their overall coping skills.
My heart for hurting people was birthed out of my own journey of experiencing healing from trauma, abuse and loss. I am convinced that all of us are created with a potential for incredible resilience and with the right kind of compassionate support, we can bounce back from the worst of circumstances. I grew up in India and after moving to the US in 2001, received a M.A. in Professional Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Over the last 2 decades, I have enjoyed working with children and adults in various settings such as schools, women's shelters, colleges, churches and private practice. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, cooking and enjoying conversations over a good meal with friends and family.

I love working with college students to figure out what is going on beyond the words because sometimes it is not so clear. I work with clients on varying concerns. I know from personal experience how helpful and impactful therapy can be which is what ultimately led me to becoming a therapist. I utilize a person-centered approach with my clients. Therapy with me is tailor-made to fit you. I provide a non-judgmental, comfortable environment where clients feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions. Are you going through a significant life event or change? Or are you ready to work through past distressing memories or traumatic events? Embarking on the therapeutic journey takes courage, as well as finding the right therapist. I specialize in helping those going through significant life events and discernment, individuals who experience depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, as well as those who identify as LGBTQIA. I prefer to view therapeutic foci through an Adaptive Information Processing Model, rather than through a pathological lens. So many presenting symptoms are actually trauma-related, and that is where healing can start. What if your brain could heal itself? I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be a powerful treatment for PTSD, anxiety, grief, performance improvement, depression and many other conditions. I am trained in the EMDR DeTUR protocol for urge reduction as well (focusing on addictions or other compulsive behaviors). In an effort to accommodate busy schedules, I offer evening and weekend appointments. Together, we will collaborate on goals and a plan while building upon your strengths. I look forward to hearing from you! If interested in EMDR therapy and curious about it, please see www.emdria.org for further information.
Do you suffer from anxiety, depression, or just need a safe environment to explore the challenges of life? My therapy style is compassionate and non-judgmental. I believe in meeting individuals where they are at in life and creating goals together to improve and manage day-to-day stressors. I believe in cultivating an environment to feel at ease and be able to express your fullest self. The counseling process is an opportunity to learn and grow, to remember who we are, and to gain ways to fully express our true self and potential. I invite you to take the first step to begin your counseling journey and contact me via a phone call or through email.
We all have a way of maintaining safety in relationships and making the world "work." However, from time to time, we realize that these strategies may or may not be leading us to the life we've wanted. I greatly enjoy working with women experiencing anxiety and relationship difficulties - often manifesting as high achievement and/or perfectionism. Many of my current clients are in the helping professions - mental health, medicine, faith-based ministry. Together, we begin to explore interpersonal patterns and tendencies as well as core beliefs and narratives, with the goal of creating a new story. Please see my Psychology Today profile for additional info.
The choice to seek therapy demonstrates an openness to growth and commitment to well-being. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment in which I understand that each of us has a unique set of strengths and challenges that shape who we are and how we experience relationships. In my collaborative work with individuals, couples, young children, and families, we focus on developing insight and establishing new strategies to overcome difficult patterns or concerns.
Many of the students I see are going through a tough or confusing time. You might feel overwhelmed by classes, pressure to succeed, or uncertainty about your future. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, past trauma, or experiences that still affect how you feel or relate to others. Some feel emotionally stuck, isolated, or caught in patterns they want to change — including around substance use. You don’t need to have it all figured out. If you’re looking for a space where you can be yourself, talk honestly, and feel supported without judgment, therapy can help.
